SCANDAL's new hairstyles met with cries of 「Kawaii!!」 - Starting off their tour with various hair colors
SCANDAL, whose first solo world tour spanning 41 performances in 9 countries in 2015 that was a great success, is broadening their activities.
The band, who is active worldwide, began their first Toumeihan [Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka] arena tour, SCANDAL ARENA TOUR 2015-2016 「PERFECT WORLD」, on 12/9 (Wed.) in TOMOMI's hometown at Kobe World Memorial Hall.
This Toumeihan arena tour will mobilize 40,000 people, and has been given the title "SCANDAL ARENA TOUR 2015-2016 「PERFECT WORLD」." With a fired-up live, the members with a very simple stage and outfits said, 「We want you to watch a life-sized performance by SCANDAL who have matured on and have returned from their world tour!」
Patrick Woodroffe, a world-famous lighting designer who has handled lights for the London Olympic opening and closing ceremonies as well as many famous artists such as The Rolling Stones; Michael Jackson; and Stevie Wonder, was in charge of the lighting. It is a highlight that makes the powerful performances of SCANDAL, who continue to grow as a band, shine.
On opening day at their performance at Kobe World Memorial Hall, the members appeared on stage with new hairstyles!
When HARUNA appeared with platinum blonde bangs cut above her eyebrows, many cries of 「Kawaii!!!」 came from the audience.
MAMI showed off black hair for the first time in four years. She talked about the appeal of black hair which differs from the striking hair colors she's had so far, such as orange and blue. 「I've gone back to black for the first time in a while. Black hair actually stands out more!」 RINA showed off her first time having purple-colored hair. 「I want to live as a punk! (laughs)」 she said, inviting laughter. TOMOMI, who now has dark pink hair, said, 「It's hard taking a bath...! I'm a nuisance to hotels. (laughs)」 , calming down the venue with "Wacky hair colors happen."
In addition, they played for the first time 『Chiisana Honoo』, the theme song for their documentary film 『SCANDAL “Documentary film「HELLO WORLD」”』 that was screened in theaters nationwide for a while this past October.
When they began performing 『Chiisana Honoo』, the new song obtained only by those who saw the film at the theater, loud cheers erupted and the melodic, magnificent ballad intoxicated the audience.
For the encore, HARUNA said, 「This will be a Christmas present from SCANDAL...」 and announced the long-awaited release of their film 『SCANDAL “Documentary film「HELLO WORLD」”』 on DVD & Blu-ray, which will be released two weeks later on 2015/12/23 (Wed.). It was hurriedly decided that this work that gives total coverage of the overseas performances on their solo world tour that spanned five months this year would be made into a DVD after many voices came from fans who had requests of "I want to watch it again!" and those who missed out due to the limited release. It has become a high-profile work throughout the world, as it will also be screened in theaters from 2015/12/12 in Mexico, Chile, and Peru.
Next up is Nippon Gaishi Hall, which will be their first arena performance in HARUNA and MAMI's hometown of Nagoya, on 12/23 (Wed.).
Lastly, they will be performing 2 consecutive days on 2016/1/12 (Tue.) + 13 (Wed.) at Nippon Budokan, which will be their first time back in 4 years since 2012 when they had been fastest girl band to perform there since their formation. Their 1/13 (Wed.) Budokan finale performance will be broadcast live on WOWOW.
In addition, details for their outdoor event on 2016/8/21 (Sun.), the day of their 10th anniversary, in their hometown of Osaka have been announced. SCANDAL's momentum is accelerating more and more.
