I'd greeted Scandal up close face to face and found that Mami is much prettier in person than in many official photos.

"gaya" is Nagoya dialect and is used when you're surprised about the current situation.

Yes Japanese artists vary a lot in talking about their family, some like to keep them very private and some tell you quite a lot about them, but all the neighbours must know they have a pretty well known musician in the family.
