Personally, one of my favorite anime series. Very, comical and parodies Japanese culture, yet very dramatic and action packed when it needs to. Any fans of this show, discuss. Story? Quotes? Fav cutscene and character?

I told my friend to grab the batch torrent. Spring break, I'll be watching like 140 of these episodes if time allows me.

I heard this was really good, and very comical. I have a few friends who sub this series, and they've been telling me to watch this since Soul Eater came out.

This won't disappoint, lol. It parodies jap culture to anime itself. The manga was alright, but the anime def brings it to life.

my friend showed me an episode --the snow sculpture episode-- from his psp and without a doubt liked it.

a dubbed ver of this was aired here but only runs for 1 month(?) or 3 weeks(?). everybody say its nice, but the network put it in a very inappropriate timeslot--the kiddie timeslot; alongside spongebob and other kids show. it wont rival those shows cause most probably only kids watch at that time and teens and adults were on work and school. that kind of humor wont sell well to filipino kids. gintama would have been a hit here if they put it in a later timeslot.

but as for me, i really like it. the self-contained humorous episodes, the plot, the characters, their misfortunes. it is really a refreshing type of anime.

I thought it was impossible due to the fact that a lot of the humor is very Japanese colloquial and all. That's why the American DVD's only has subs, haha.

I rate 8/10 for Gintama...

I'm currently watching Gintama, it's a funny anime! >.< Kagura's way of talking is nice like it. ahaha. oh yeahI like Otsuu chan's sake song, but unfortunately I cannot find any lyrics of it and don't even know the title of it >.<

I love Gintama, especially when it does some parodies. So funny. XD The characters are very distinct and hilarious. It's a really great anime/manga!

I'm still at episode 114. but I stopped because I'm really busy right now because of school. I love this Anime so much especially when they do parodies of OP,Bleach, etc.xD

Sunrise and TV Tokyo's official websites for the Gintama television anime series confirmed on Sunday that Gintama will return every Thursday at 6:00 p.m., starting October 4. In addition to "Yorinuki Gintama-san" (a repeat of selected Gintama anime episodes), the broadcast will include new Gintama episodes. The main staff and cast will return for the new episodes.
Gintama is also getting a second film next year and a new game project from Namco Bandai Games. The Gintama television series first ran from April 2006 to March 2010, and then returned for an April 2011-March 2012 run.

even if there is no definite plotline

The episodes 1-20 might look slow and boring too watch but after those character introductions Gintama will make you laugh like there's no tomorrow

I was first introduced to Gintama through the DS game Jump Ultimate Stars. (I was actually introduced to many animes/mangas through that game haha).

But yea, I have only seen the anime, but that alone made me laugh a lot. I should probably invest to read the manga....

I thought this anime was just another boring one. But, when I watched, I can't stop laughing ^^
