A four member group from Shinjuku. If you read one of Rina's blog she said she's listening to this band.

They followed The Ramones and had every member of the group carry the same surname. They're only 19 when they came out and they already went on a tour in the US (the Japan Nite tour, the same event that Scandal went into when theyre still indie)

At a young age these guys show serious skills on their songs, they're style are influenced by punk, rock and roll and psychedlic music from the 60's- early 80's. This band is a must-see for all rock and roll fans out there!

Here's a sample of their music guys:
Okamoto's - Madara

Okamoto's - Waratte Waratte

they're pretty cool, and a bit uh.. weird, in a positive way. Waratte Waratte has to be one of my favourites. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Your Welcome! My head just exploded at the end of Madara. That bassist looks so relaxed but the way he plays that bass is just amazing.

By the way, check out more of their songs Beek, Smash, Run Run Run and Insane Man (the opening of the PV was inspired from Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange!), and right now I think they released 3 albums.

Here are the Members:

The New York punk band 'The Ramones' seem to have made a big impression in Japan !
'Shonen knife' has always been called the 'Osaka Ramones' !

yeah, they say The Ramones had been a huge influence on them as well as The Doors.
They even created stage names the same as the ramones did but this time they had surnames taken from the great painter and sculptor Taro Okamoto.
and yeah i remember Shonen Knife covering ramones songs too...

Shonen Knife have just released a tribute album to the 'Ramones' and they have even copied the artwork from the 1977 album 'Rocket to Russia' !
