Buck-Tick is a nice one. You might also want to check out Dir en grey's older stuff.

i used to follow this band LAPUTA but dunno wat happen to them now.
imo i felt tat visual kei in the past is very gd compare to now.
like wat MDV said, checkout DEG older stuff and Malice MIzer b4 Gackt left.

My personal favourite is Onmyoza (Onmyouza, Onmyo-za). I do believe they're classified as visual kei. Awesome compositions, vocalists and musicians.

I really like 'Dir en grey' and 'The Gazette' but I do not understand what Visual
kei means ?
How do you define a band as Visual kei ?
