Share your latest work

Post by Noodles on Sat Jun 11, 2011 6:56 pm

Hey guys, I always try to revive this section because I like to do signatures and avatars and mess around with photoshop, but this section is always empty and we dont have many users who actually do sigs and stuff. So I'm making this thread to share your latest work and get some critics, suggestions, debate, talk about works, share PSDs and whatever you guys feel like. Most of the threads I make end up empty and nobody tends to use them, I really hope this is not one of those because I really like making signatures and all Clap

My latest work:

Finally can use Brushes again!

I used to play around with illustrator and PS during schooling days (more on illustrator though),here are some of my old works(which are also my latest work).

Illustrator:

*Click them, they look better in full size

Photoshop:

And if you noticed, they are all from anime. Find it easier to work with 2d images XD

Very nice job Lale.

I really like the text and the artistic designs on the left side.

I'm not too sure about the colours though, but I think you can do some photofilters or gradients maybe to make the overall colours more coherent? I dunno, that's just me.

aurie, your signatures are simple yet elegant. I also agree that the Zero one would be the one that stands out the most out of them.

I think the Saber one is just lacking in stuff on the right side. It seems pretty empty, even with the other half of her blended in..

As for my latest work, it's still in my signature!

The colors are like that because the stock I used somewhat has em, I tweaked it a little bit but in that case I dunno why but I wanted to do a really colorful sig haha.

Yay aparently this thread will not die so easily! Finally...

Oh, you just left the colours from the original render?

If I did that with my signature, it would look like this:

Did you use a Photo filter to achieve that color on the signature (the one you have on, not the one you posted)? What color did you use?

Photofilter and gradient.

I picked purple as you can see. It was actually a combination of different filters to get that final colour. I also had to change the brightness and contrast (I used orange). Of course, all of these are on adjustment layers.

Duplicate multiple copies of my render and start smudging them, with the bottom layer heaviest intensity. After smudging put them to screen. Will attach the .PSD file if you are interested once I'm at home.

Hmmm, maybe you could lower the opacity of the line running across on the bottom left to make it blend in nicer to the flare around that area? Not sure if it will look better Whistle

Any idea what I could add on the right side to make it look better?

I'll agree, the top left looks kinda off. I'm not too sure what you can do to it myself. =Dp

@Counterclock
Did you try GIMP?
It can't fully replace Photoshop and might seem confusing at first.
But since PS is pretty expensive nowadays(I was lucky and got it pretty cheap from a friend who works with that kind of stuff) GIMP is an acceptable alternative.
I use both PS and GIMP actually.
Those are older pictures I made with GIMP:

Gimp is a very nice alternative to Photoshop, and its free. I use pirated versions of Photoshop though, I got used to it already. I'll see what I can do with your signature @counterclock
