I know it's not just Scandal that do this, but I've noticed the girls sometimes sing English lyrics in their songs. Does anybody know why?

I sounds sooo cute when they sing in English, but is that not a bit confusing for their Japanese audience? Or am I just being silly because they tend to know a bit of English anyway?

I don't know why they use it, but they are effective sometimes. Some bands know english, some don't. If they write their own songs, and they use english in it, then I guess they know english. Tongue

it's not just a liking of English but I would imagine some english words fit the song better. Plus, many English words have been adopted into the language so it would be strange.

As for whether they know English; they are recently out of High school and it's a major subject there. I teach, so I know to what extent they learn, its just a matter of if they paid attention or not. The audience will be the same. It's more common than you think.

IMO japanese use ALOT english word in daily life also, just tht they change it into japanese (and it become katakana)

love = rabu
butterfly = batafurai

tht kind normal for japanese d, but when they pronounce it correctly it will bcome much cooler for the japanese Woaw
