From Wikipedia
Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries. Its following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200 album chart in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth greatest band of the music video era and the third best of the new millennium behind Oasis and Coldplay.

Having adapted the nu metal and rap metal genres to a radio-friendly yet densely layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band explored other genres in their next studio album, Minutes to Midnight, which was released in 2007. The album topped the Billboard charts and had the third best debut week of any album that year. The band has collaborated with several other artists, most notably with rapper Jay-Z in their mashup EP Collision Course, and many others included on Reanimation. The band's most recent work, the concept album A Thousand Suns, was released on September 8, 2010. Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and has won two Grammy Awards.

It's been a while since the last time I listened to Linkin Park.

I prefer their old works. from Hybrid until Meteora. The later works are fine, but not better than the earlier IMO.

Yeah... I must admit it too... that their earlier works are awesome... but you should admit it too that their latest works are better then the old one..~ cause overtime their music become more and more awesome isn't it.? you can take a look at their latest songs like "The Catalyst", "Burning in the skies" and "Iridescent"

and have you known that their latest single "Iridescent" will be featured in Transformers 3 : Dark Of The Moon.?

I don't know. Their recent work is somewhat soft compared to Meteora or Hybrid. Maybe their image of hard music is stuck in my head

Though I like The Catalyst TBH and some tracks from Minutes to Midnight like Shadow of The Day and Leave out All The Rest. But still, Hybrid Theory and Meteora is my best of them.

I never update my references on English music for months.
J-music hooked me up .happy.

Oh, LP. This band is really great. And they had influence on a loooooot of new/modern bands. I used to listen to them several years ago. I like their old songs (my favourite is "numb" I think), but I still can't say anything bad about their new works. They are experimenting, and it is really good, because it allows them to go forward! The proof of this is that they're not a young band, but still on the stage and moreover, they are kinda popular!

Linkin Park was probably the gateway into music for me. I think I was in like grade 6 or 7 when I heard "In the End", and I was like going crazy over it. That song still has a place in my heart, lol.

Agreed! They're older stuff is better than what they have put out recently!

I was also a big fan of Linkin Park back in the day. The thing that got me was One Step Closer. I was like crazy every time I hear that. Makes you wanna jump up and down NuMetal style. XD I also digged Meteora and even Reanimation (which was a very experimental album, like more techno and rap).

I also like their recent songs but not so much into them now. Like Michelle2nd, their style in the past stuck with me.

I'll come out and say it...I enjoyed A Thousand Suns as much as Hybrid Theory!
A Thousand Suns was like a auditory journey or story that creates a visual epic through their vocals, SFXs, Lyrics, and aggressive bass.

To me, Minutes to midnight was their weakest album, it felt like they were trying too hard to appease all different kinds of listeners.

But, this does not take away the fact that they have changed the game since their debut. All power to them.

Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" was one of the first cassettes I ever bought for my Walkman, and their "Crawling" MTV was the first I saw from them. They sounded awesome back when I was in 5th grade, and they still sound awesome until now - changes notwithstanding.

But man, back in the day, I was crazy about this band. I would memorize Mike's raps and (try to) copy Chester's growls. And then when news came out about Chester's apparent death because his vocal cords "broke", it was the saddest day. (Until, of course, it turned out to be false and I was very much relieved.)

I like how they are always experimenting with their sound - much like what SCANDAL are doing. They're no one-trick-pony. They are always reinventing themselves with every release, and I applaud them for that. Hope to hear them play live at the SMART Araneta Coliseum in the Philippines someday. \m/

Favorite songs: Everything from Hybrid Theory, "Waiting for the End", "When They Come for Me", "Bleed It Out"
