Heroes of Newerth (ill be refering to this by HoN) is a complete game based ONLY on DotA, the popular Warcraft 3 map. It has some new functions that warcraft 3 doesnt have and obviously the super good graphics that you just cant compare since Warcraft 3 is an old game.
Some of the functions that are really good:
You are able to reconnect if you happen to disconnect from the game by any reason. You have 300 seconds to do it.
Each account works on stats, every match you play is recorded and the Kill/Death ratio is recorded as well. Lets suppose you kill 10 people and die 2 times, thus you will have a 5.0/1 Kill/Death ratio (which makes you a really good player)
Theres something called PSR (Public skill rating) which determines the level the player has. You start with 1500 and the amount of PSR you win or lose per match is determined by the % of winning you have in the waiting room. If 5 players with 1500 psr fight 5 payers with 1700 PSR they will most likely have less chances of winning, therefore they lose less PSR if they lose and they earn more if they win.
Under 1500 PSR means new to the game, noob or just that you are in a bad strike and you've been getting noobs/leavers in your team.
Above 1600 PSR means you are becoming a better player and above 1700 means you're really good. 1800-2000 means you are godly.
The matches are not hosted on the one who creates the room computer, HoN has servers all over the world. For example, if you are in japan and you wanna play with japanese people and have the less lag possible, you will choose a JPN server from the list of servers. If you live in the US you might aswell pick a US server from the list.
You can now follow your friends into matches way easier than warcraft (where you had to find the matchs name in the list) here you just right click your buddy in the friend list then "join match".
Saying no more! Here's the download link for the client, it's still in BETA so post here if you want a beta key or send me a PM with your email so that I can invite you guys and you can add me ^^
The official website is this one:
Related to the heroes, there are some non-DotA heroes like Puppet master, Maliken, Forsaken archer, and more. But the majority of heroes are from DotA, like Razor (Corrupted Disciple), Lion (Witch Slayer), Lina (Pyromancer), Venomancer (Slither), Etc.
