What Fender amp and cab combo is Tomomi using on stage now? From the 47 Prefecture tour pics I've seen the cab looks like a 6x10, but I don't recognize the amp. When did she move away from Ampeg? She likes those big cabs! Nice grill cloth color, too (unless it's the lighting). Or is this all too "gearheady?"
From standing next to my garage band drummer too long i now wear earplugs at concerts! (just to take the edge off)

Again, like MAMI's description in the current GGG Dec 2017 ish, TIMO simply describes her new P-bass as sounding powerful, and having a colour that it between natural and a sunburst, with a red tortoiseshell pickguard. The pup is a 60s vintage series. The knob config is simple - volume and tone. Not much else, really.

Now that I see a better pic, that bass is starting to grow on me more and more.
I love the natural look to it, refreshingly simple with a retro vibe. Don't mind the lack of a stripe at all!

The sound of the wood is great and has a sense of power to it. I stacked 60's vintage series for the pickups and bridge. Doing so I now have a bass with a fingerboard radius for the first time. For the color, I was particular in making it halfway between a smooth natural and sunburst, and red tortoiseshell for the pickguard. The knobs simply consist of just tone and volume.

One minor addition to TIMO's pedal board as featured in the March 2018 ish of GiGS:
In the place of her SansAmp Bass Driver is this curious looking pedal, which I thought was a noise filter but is actually a notch filter. Nope, not a typo as seen below:
From what I can make from the Chrome translation on reading the website ( http://soulpower.cart.fc2.com/ca5/75/p2-r-s/ ), this pedal cuts the mid frequencies to emulate a dip in the middle when seen on the graphic Eq. Or something to that effect. Costs about 18000 yen.
Made by a Japanese company in Shizuoka called Soul Power Instruments that makes boutique pedals (with saucy deco to boot) as well as mods on pedals from other makes.

They always switch up their gear at least slightly for every tour to better match the songs they'll be playing. So, more than likely, TOMO probably felt that they didn't suit the songs they're playing on this tour (AKA the songs on HONEY), or they aren't needed for these songs.

It was captured from their Documentary Film Hello World, near the end when they came back to Japan and are getting ready to record Chiisana Honoo, there were a lot of part of the body where it had the rubbed off finish.

With MAMI playing a new Fender MiJ Modern Series HH Strat recently, TOMOMI may have just followed suit, as seen on the newly-released PV, AMDKJ.
She is playing the Jazz bass counterpart in the series, and unlike MAMI who has been using her new HH strat quite a lot since the live debut in Singapore, we've to keep an eye out to see if TOMOMI will be using this live more often soon.
Also available in Inca silver, Mystic Ice blue, Olympic pearl and Sunset orange metallic, at approx USD1600 apiece. Still available at ikebe-gakki online which does overseas sales. This is a limited series guitar, so if you want one it won't last in the shops for sale forever.

The new bass TOMO posted about in her Stories is a Fender American Professional II Jazz Bass in the color Mystic Surf Green.
The newly designed neck heel and its high position make everything smooth!
The edges are rolled off and fit in the hand well!

Awww, I have a 1960's red Fender Jazz Bass the same as Tomomi had many years ago
And a Hofner Violin Bass that she played in one of their videos, although it was not my one she played of course.

I have a Stratocaster in this color, which I had named HARU (because I thought Haruna had a similar colored guitar around the Honey promotion period). It's a beautiful paint job.
