@KuRZuS_Poland: I like the old-school feel of your league in Poland. Fighting in a ring and not in a cage. Reminds me a little bit of Pride in Japan and our own URCC in the Philippines (which, BTW, now beats Pride as the longest-running MMA promotion in Asia). Very cool.

Looking forward to GSP kicking Nick Diaz's a** next weekend and (finally!) Jones vs. Sonnen for the Light Heavyweight title next month. :bd

@kylelaluces: Hehe Im excited too for GSP vs Diaz and Jones vs Sonnen... I am rooting for underdogs.. Diaz and Sonnen but if Im betting, I will definitely choose the two champions.

URCC is also a cool organization. I know someone competing there personally. I hope they can merge with PCX. I like the cage better but I know most mma fans prefer the Ring.

My favorite fighter is Lyoto Machida because he looks like Ryu of Street Fighter.... and also he's a rare breed of fighter tuning traditional martial arts (Shotokan Karate + Sumo) for modern MMA cage match.

He is very unique as a fighter. He is very elusive and has good striking game. His Crane kick against Randy Couture was epic!!

Thanks. I'm glad that someone noticed it. Because that's what I like in the KSW
UFC is too much show, in the American style. KSW is more prestigious
If you know what to say.

I'm picking Sonnen to win too. But before that, GSP needs to shut Diaz up.
Oh. And which fighter from URCC do you know?

He's one of my favorites, too. His last fight with Hendo was a nail-biter. But I'm glad he picked up the win.

I don't know about "too much show", though. I think UFC has done a lot for MMA so that it could be recognized as a legitimate sport. Part of that effort is to ensure that people remain interested in MMA, and they are doing it not just by promoting the fights/pay-per-views (which is very much important) but by going beyond that and entering into other avenues of sports-entertainment (video games, reality shows, "countdown" specials, commentary/analysis shows, and the like).

I did not mean anything by it. UFC have good fight Nice one but "generally" reminds me Tv program a not great sports event. So it looks like from my side. (on first sight)
Maybe is other. Maybe I need to more get to know UFC ( Sory for my English is not good)

I get what you mean, though. It's all good, don't worry. :bd

I guess it does have something to do with how the US produces MMA events. In fact, I remember a time when UFC events started to look like pro-wrestling shows (with the entrance ramp and pyrotechnics). But they eventually scrapped that in favor of a more traditional boxing-style entrance. I think it will take some more time before it reaches the status of a "great sporting event". But the way things are going now, it's on the right track.

I still appreciate the old-school feel of some of the leagues, though. Since my fondest memories of the sport were back when they weren't mainstream yet. :)

@kylelaluces: He is Eric Kelly. I only see him twice working out in the Gym where I also train. :onionrider:

UFC is doing there best to promote MMA as the best combat sports. They want to get into the level of popularity of boxing. Althought local organization and other smaller international organization is important, the future of MMA defends on how the UFC grows.

"STILL" waiting for Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones superfight of the century!

Also GSP is one of the most boring fighters to watch out there but at the same time super effective and practical!

Cain Velasquez will be a dominant force on the heavyweight division.

RIP Brock Lesnar, Kimbo Slice, and Rampage Jackson, LOL!

Mark Munoz and Brandon Vera need to step their game up more!

Weidman beat Silva ?

edit:
I saw the results of UFC 162 on a wrestling website. It looks like Silva was too confident ... and he was beaten.

Spidey's cockiness/showboatmanship backfired this time around, very unfortunate of him! Although there are talks/rumors that the fight was "fixed/rigged" to some extent, who knows? A win is a win for Weidman.

Also, their weight-in stare down is just ridiculous and hilarious at the same time!

Anderson Silva had what he deserved for a very long time. I hope he comes back for a rematch and gets knocked out on the first round next time. Never liked his disrespect towards his opponents.

Light-heavyweight has the most strong fighters in my opinion, many ex-champions. Jones vs Sonnen was a joke, Sonnen didn't deserve the title shot, but Jones vs Machida or Gustafsson will be a great fight.
