Are you me?!

Anyhow, the name comes from a bag that they found and Chan-mari made the 'kopo!' sound effect her trademark. XD I saw an interview on Bokura no Ongaku ...

Parallel Spec is definitely up there as one of my favourite tracks - I think it's their first single since being signed to a major label last year or early this year. Thread Dance is also my life ... but Killer Ball takes the cake, every single friggin time.

GesuKiwa identify themselves as being a progressive hip hop band. The four members are all highly technical when it comes to their instruments, so each track oozes slick, sophisticated hooks and unpredictable melodies that showcase their skills. I love the layering of different sounds; some of the beauty found in indigo la end's pop-rock outfit can also be found in quite a few GesuKiwa tracks. At other times, they are unabashedly awesome and there's nothing sweet about them.

Vo/Gt - Enopyon えのぴょん (Kawatani Enon, indigo la end)
Key - chanMARI ちゃんMARI (crimson)
Dr - Hona Ikoka ほな・いこか (microcosm)
Bass - Kyuujitsu Kachou 休日課長 (ex. indigo la end)

I feel like GesuKiwa is a side project for all of these members; I can only see where it takes them from here on out ... exciting!

I just discovered them on youtube upon the side videos upon looking for Kenshi Yonezu songs. They are pretty good along with Supercar, Kana-boon, and Tokyo Shoegaze. I actually signed up to a website to see what other songs Kana-boon has .

I don't think I ever became a fan so fast of a band that I just started to listen, it's good that I can't believe it!
Just one thing I can't quite understand...why so many dislikes on their video?I wish I knew japanese so I could read the comments, because it's so unbelievable...

Ahh I think most people are turned off by the name? And/or they believe the music is good enough not to need a vocalist, like the singing just turns them off the band. I think because the group is highly technical, it attracts different kinds of people ... as opposed to people who enjoy, say, pop -because- it is popular, catchy, easy to listen to and repetitive haha

ah I see, I thought it was the other way around: since it's not the typical mainstream pop band it would attract only people interested in that kind of music so it would have less people that dislike it, that's why I thought it was normal for videos like the latest one that(if I recall correctly) is used in a Coca-Cola commercial and gathers millions of views every week.
But I never thought the vocals were one the problems, high pitched male vocals is a thing that stopped bothering me since I started to listen to band like Pavlov's Dog and Rush.

Finally I receive the album, and after a couple of days of listening, I wanted to do a mini review.(also ignoring for a moment that Enon Becky affair...)
so..Wow, I'm actually blown away, it's really good, definitely one of their best releases.
It took my a couple of listening but now I consider it a solid album from start to finish, without "filler songs" like it happened the other album/EPs.
The composition is top notch.

Special mention to the DVD from the limited edition, it consists of 1/3 live footage, 1/3 making off, 1/3 of "variety style"/funny footage. Really interesting

In the end it is a really good album, actually one of my favourite in general. I just hope that the scandal is not going to be career breaker(for both of them)
I'm really curious how all of this is going to unravel in the next months.

The scandal will most likely not end his career, due to the fact that he is a very talented musician and a man, the affair is certainly bad and will cost him a lot of support from some of his fans and the sales of their stuff will definitely not be as high as they could be, what I was more worried about was the fact that they just got a Budokan performance, I know Enon has already performed in public after the affair but im sure hes trying to keep stuff under wraps, hopefully the whole situation dies down soon and we can expect more great music from this band, even if Enon isnt the greatest person around lol

Recently discovered this band and I think they are pretty amazing.  Each of the band members have great chops and their mix of styles feels natural.  Prog hip-hop, whodathunk!?  Searching youtube to hear more of their stuff. Their band name is AWESOME!

Recently got my copy of their latest album, and I really like it. For a band that mentions "hip-hop" as part of their genre, for me this stuff is more like acid-jazz, with only inklings of hip-hop in this album. I've heard their older stuff is more hip-hop, though I haven't really looked into it much.

Really technical, I mentioned Jamiroquai as one of my favourite bands in one of my other threads, and if anyone's listened to them, (moreso with the stuff previous to their disco-sounding stuff) there is some really good similarities.

The first song on this album still gets me every time.

I hope it's not too OT but does anyone know if there's a band score book like they do for Scandal?
I wanted to try to learn some songs from the latest album but most of it is way too difficult for me to learn by ear...

I think I've already saw a couple of these but I didn't think it was worth the shipping cost to have just a song per book...

But [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] looks really interesting, if the cover is right it has six song, and from the same editor there's a [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the has six more mostly from the new album, so I think right now it's the best deal.
Still expensive but much,much better.
Thank you very much!

Here are some songs in some kind of flash type player where you can see the tabs and play along, I learned Ryoteki from it and so far its really good and accurate. I'll be purchasing a few of the individual bandscores whenever theres any other releases so I can get it all in 1 shipping and when I do I can let you know how good they are.

I checked out this band on YouTube and liked what I heard (reminds me of a cross between Jamiroquai and Ben Folds Five).

Whenever I get turned on to a new Japanese band from SH, or find one on my own, I send links to a friend in my office.  She's from Osaka, and is around the same age as Mami/Tomomi (and equally as sweet and polite as can be).  Anyway, she was appalled when I sent over this band for her to hear.  Apparently the singer has been involved in a big relationship scandal all year, and she won't listen to his music.  She was embarrassed to even tell the story (which didn't seem that bad to me, although not good).  It made me laugh.  I told her if I had the same barometer for assessing the "Western" musicians I would listen to, I'd have no one on my iPod.

Oh well, good recommendation by @alrick13.  I'll be looking for more tunes by this band.

Yeah the Enon and Becky scandal was a big deal, mainly because he had an affair with Becky while being married to his wife very little time, he broke it off with both and continued on making music but Becky's carreer is completely over because of it, theres a lot of people that because of this refuse to listen to his stuff and I cant really say I blame them, I just feel bad that they will miss out on greatness because of this issue. I on the other hand couldnt care less about these guys personal lives and I really care about their music, I enjoy greatly everything they've put out and they've quickly risen to the top of my favorite bands.
