Some fans even felt SCANDAL showed too much skin which I find a little sad, only Haruna was wearing a normal bikini and Mami was still full dressed

That is a little sad to hear that Tony, after all they are only doing what most girls of their age would do on a day off in Okinawa. Beautiful weather and with the friends on the beach. Get your swimming cossy on, and get in the water!!

It looked almost as sunny (and hot) as it is in England at the moment.

Anyone who's going to criticize that must get no joy out of life.

But yeah, I saw some comments on FB that rubbed me the wrong way too. Stuff that, if I were them, would make me not want to post photos of myself at all anymore. I don't get it.

hmm, its normal lol.. not much skin if compared to hollywood female artis in beach lol.. i guess some fan just like to critic or overprotective to them.. oh well, some fanservice is really welcomed XD.lovelove.

lol What do they expect them to be fully clothe in a 90 plus degree sunny day at the beach in the water? i dont think so.  .cool.  Its summer, let them wear their bathing suites.

I'm also glad their having some summer time beach fun. That water looks marvelous.

I just thought it was great to see them relaxing and having fun for a change instead of always working.
And yes believe it or not England is hotter than Tokyo at the moment !

In Philippines Fan Club in FB, many of us members were very surprise and dying but still loving it .nosebleed..dies.

I am not sure if it is a cultural thing, but it seems to be more acceptable to show leg, but not so much when it comes to the midriff area. I though the bathing suit were all very cute and each had their own style ! Very happy to see them all having fun and getting some respite from the heat.

Well, in Okinawa it is certainly acceptable. It's the beach!

Even in Tokyo you see midriff a lot. And of course, tons of other music groups show midriff or even just dress in full bikinis for their music videos or PR photos. (Someone here even has a pic of I think AKB48 doing this in their sig.)

Maybe it's cultural in some other countries, but Japan has no problem with it. And I sure don't. It's also not something they've never done before - they've got midriff-baring photos going back to 2009.

They haven't done it in a while, because their image has changed a bit. Maybe they've picked up some more conservative fans in that time, I dunno. But this was their image at one point. And to me it's totally natural that they'd be dressed like this in the water at the beach, and it's nothing they haven't shown before. And they look good, so why the heck not?!

Very true, people have been wearing bikini's on the beach in England since the 1950's, we even have beaches were you dont have to wear anything

I don't know if this is the reasoning behind it but i've found that in some Asian cultures (some not all), lighter/paler skin is often desired, so the clothing may be more of precautionary to getting too much color. In contrast, here in the states, a lot of women (some not all) like to tan and get some color
