At the start, Tokyo Jihen is actually one of several supporting bands for Shiina Ringo during her solo career until Shiina Ringo decide to quit on her solo and make the band Tokyo Jihen, which backed her last live.

They have really good and unique mixed jazz tune. A very good band IMO.

Sounan, Blackout, Toumei Ningen, OSCA, Killer Tune

They're absolutely good, better if I say so myself. They've got this cool and original sound that is very appealing. Each member is highlighted with each song they play. I remember seeing Denpa Tsuushin (Radiowave Communication) once in Youtube, and their bassist, Seiji (the man is legendary IMO), was so good. Another good live performance was Marunochi Sadistic. Shiina's voice and singing style is something worth hearing, she slurrs some words and it's practically amazing when she sings in English. Guess I'm wayyy too overwhelmed by them, but it's hard to come across a versatile band like this.

Oh yeah, more recommended songs (2 of which I've already mentioned) would be:
Denpa Tsuushin, Marunochi Sadistic, Rakujitsu and Child of the 21st Century

I got this album just to "check them out" boy what did I run into, great group, unique sound, and I love the fact that I can just play first song in the album and wait till it ends without having to skip any song. I'm not too fond of the band though, just recently listened to them.

Tokyo Jihen literally rocks my socks. I don't know what it is; I think I'm drawn to Shiina's personality as the lead singer as well as her ambition, but the band is really something special ... like musically, I really feel like they're incredibly mature and have a really strong drive and focus.

My favourite song is hard to pick but I think it's Keshou Naoshi; I can listen to it day in and out... Might post scans here later if it's allowed. If not, PM me since I'll be sharing them with other members. ^^

Wow! I'm surprised that there is only a topic for Tokyo Jihen! XD But their an AMAZING band! .wow.  I'm sad that they disbanded, but Shiina seems to be back for another solo career! 

I'm also surprised at how many SH members don't know about this group! Shiina Ringo is such a versatile artist, and it shows in both her solo career and Tokyo Jihens' music! Also, their live performances are beautiful!

Some of my favorite songs from Tokyo Jihen would be: Himitsu, Ekimae, Killer Tune, OSCA, and Sounan!

Since I'm a bit lazy to make another topic I'll just say what some of my favorite Shiina Ringo songs are: Gips, Marunochi Sadistic, Honnou, Gamble, and Sakuran!

I prefer Ringo's solo career but they're a fantastic band of course.
