Hello all, my name's Gary I'm 43 and from England. I found Scandal Heaven a little while ago but put off signing up as I'm shy even in cyberspace.

I recently started listening to music again after losing interest in it along with many other things as I was caring for my mother the last six years who sadly passed away in September of last year. Then when the pandemic came I occupied my time by going through my cd collection but wanted something new, I've always been a fan of j-culture, anime and manga but never really got into the music although many an opening and ending theme has got my feet tapping so on went YouTube.

JPU Records came up in my search and as I was aware of Scandal they were my first stop I watched the video for Masterpiece and right from the intro I was hooked and watched the whole playlist in the process I fell head over heels in love with Tomomi, if only I were about ten years younger .love.

Since then I've been seeing what Japan has to offer musically but Scandal has gripped me tightly and won't let go, the only other bands that have grabbed me the same way are Pearl Jam and Oasis.

The last few months have been tough and I've never felt more alone since a year has passed without my mother but Scandal have given me hope for a brighter future and every time Tomo smiles my heart melts and makes me smile also, did I mention that I love her, but the real Scandal is that I never found Scandal sooner.

Hi Gary, welcome to SH. I am Andy from Scotland, I also enjoyed Anime & manga. I was going to go Japan this year but C-19 put end to that [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I also lost my mum few years back, it is hard when you lose one of your main pillar of your life. I did not listen to couple of bands for long time, like Led Zeppelin since they were mum fave. Hopeful you look back at better times you had with mum.

Thanks for the kind words.

Japan is somewhere I've always wanted to go, would like to see the cherry blossom in the spring, I'm going try and learn Japanese in the new year and see where it goes from there. Hope you get to go soon.

Mum wanted me to be happy but with the state of the world right now it's hard but Scandal have improved my outlook on life, they just seem so happy when they perform and that energy channels out.

I just received KFTD live stream this week, I really want to watch it but I'm going to save it for Christmas Day.

Hi Gary,

 Welcome to SH !
I am English too but we do have members from most countries here honest !

My mother died way back in 1980 ( I am old ) but I still remember how bad it was and she died from
cancer which was horrible so I do know how you feel.

As you can see Tomomi is also my favourite member, I also play bass so I know how good she is and
I love her chipmunk voice, I was lucky enough to see them when they played in London and they
 are awesome live.

Hope you have fun here and we are all pretty friendly.

I love her voice to it's what makes her unique and she can sure play bass.

I started playing guitar when I was younger but gave it up not long after leaving school, one of my many regrets. I've been contemplating getting a guitar and giving it another go again.

I'd like to go and see Scandal in London next year but I have this strange feeling that covid isn't going away soon, although as Bon Jovi once sang 'You Gotta Keep The Faith'

Hello Mitchan, I'm sorry to hear you've experienced difficult times yourself. The truth is they are all incredibly lovely, talented special ladies although Tomo is extra lovely and special. Not just their music but seeing how happy they are in pictures and videos makes me smile.

My journey to and from work each day lately has been nothing but Scandal playing but I have to listen to Stamp on the way in as it just lifts me up for the day ahead.

I've never had that one song I could really relate to until I read the translated lyrics and Tomo's explanation for writing it and I never thought in a million years it would be called Laundry Laundry   .lol.

Hi Gary! I'm Arthur, 42, from the Philippines. Like you, Japanese music specially SCANDAL, Chisato Moritaka, the city pop genre really brightens my day during this difficult time. My mother passed away when I was 18 and I was drastically changed from an easy-going college student to a stern and serious student-athlete.

I'm also a HUGE fan of Tomomi. It's a shame that I sold most of my collection of SCANDAL except for their studio albums and a copy of Hello World vinyl. Hoping that we can talk soon and meet up in Japan when everything goes back to normal!

Sing it Back, Bring it Back, Sing it Back to Me... Wait, WRONG SONG!

Do you believe in life after love? (after love, after love)... STILL WRONG, D****T!!

Sorry to hear that Arthur, it must've been hard at that age. My father passed when I was 27 so I spent a lot of time after with my mother. I guess I grew up a lot after dad went although I feel more like 23 than 43.

There was 14 years between my parents so there's always hope for me and Tomo, regardless of the fact I don't know her, don't speak Japanese, live on the other side of the world and still struggle to talk to pretty girls.

Still I heard she likes strawberries and I've got strawberries   Nice one
