Just finished watching "Crossroads". My favorite blues-inspired flick. Any other "faves" out there? Just mainly looking for the type where music carries the plot.

My former music movie list is here: https://www.scandal-heaven.com/t15630-top-10-favorite-music-themed-movies

I can't believe I forgot to include CROSSROADS.  I love that movie and recently showed it to my girlfriend who had never seen it.

If you want to be very guitarist-specific, you can also include AUGUST RUSH.

I also really like THUNDER ALLEY, which is a bit corny, but it's about a hot-shot guitarist.

DON DIO,

Thanks for the list. I had forgotten all about "Eddie and the Cruisers". Another I had just recalled was "Magic", I think. It was about a band called "Jester", I think. Can't remember who's in it, though.

The band in THUNDER ALLEY was called Magic.  Maybe that's the movie you're thinking of.

Also, for the extra cool factor, all the guitar-playing in this movie was done by the guy that was Randy Rhoads' guitar teacher, Scott Shelly.

I doubt many members here know Dr.Feelgood but they were from Canvey Island in Essex UK near where I live and I was a huge fan, they did a Movie called 'Oil City Confidential' about growing up on Canvey Island which had a bad reputation and the local Council were not amused but I enjoyed it Happy

Don Dio,

You're absolutely correct. It was "Thunder Alley". Thanks for the info. Strangely  enough, the character played by Clancy Brown was my favorite.

He's only in the movie for a short amount of time, but Clancy Brown makes any movie better just by showing up.

True, true. He's great in every role I've seen him in.
