Please refrain on why, otherwise Im gonna close this thread because itll be spam all over the place.

I'm thinking of playing one of those games, too. Never really have. but I lost interest when there is no version of a Japanese songs, or one where you can upload your own songs to play. I would love to get one filled with Jrock, Visual Kei, Jpop, like L'arc-en-ciel, GLAY, X Japan, and especially SCANDAL.

They are all good games but I wish people would spend their time and
money on real guitars and learn to play them.
Otherwise we will have a whole generation that can only play pretend guitars !

Rockband 3 is probably the best one out of that list, nice song selections, updated downloadable content and has a new guitar as well instead of the buttons of other guitars where you actually have to 'play' or 'strum' the notes on screen. Band Hero has more of a kiddie pop songlist like Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Michael Jackson, No Doubt, etc.

In Rock Band 3, there's "Pro Mode" where you play an actual instrument (guitar, keyboard..). I wanted to get Rock Band 3 just because of the ability to actually play the guitar but they cost so much.

for me i choose RB3 because it has new instrument, keyboard and also drum for pro mode.. ^^

I work in a game shop and the guy I work with who plays guitar in a band always says Rock Band is the better of the 2 games. I've still never played it, got bored of GH games when world tour came out.

Rock Band has a bettr note chart for drums but people say it's undercharted...

All those games sounds like fun, I personally haven't played it yet, but wanted to. However None of those songs ever really interest me. The day I buy a music game is the day They came out with a game full of J-pop/J-rock songs, including but not limited to SCANDAL, L'Arc~en~Ciel, Girugamesh, B'z, Stereopony, Chatmonchy, Funky Monkey Babys, GACKT, X Japan, YUI, GReeeeN, T.M. Revolution. Also some classics like WANDS, BAAD and PRINCESS PRINCESS.

As a guitar player since 1964 I have to say neither game !
If you want to play guitar play a real one, don't just press buttons.
There is a new PS3 XBox game out in Japan where you plug any guitar into your games console and it teaches you to play, and even better, then you can play along with famous guitar players just like the pretend games.

My friends have seen it on TV but it is not on sale in Japan yet, even I am tempted to buy that one .

tell me more when you get any info! I want one.

That would be Rocksmith. It's a little more expensive than a regular game. $80.
