Although you have to acknowledge that the majority of the rest of the world calls us "Americans" too..

I'm just trying to say that he was talking about the Continent America, not only USA, 'cause people who lives in America are American, like people who lives in Europe are European
And America is just 1 Continent, South, Middle and North are just Sub-continents
P.S.: In Brasil we call you North-American or "EstadoUnidense"(This don't has an english translation, but it comes from the portuguese name USA = Estados Unidos) you have to change your idea of "rest of the world" now!

Nop, this post has no relation with the USA thread. It was only the stats of USA according to this census. Moreover, this 80% is the percentage of American fans who live in USA. When I say "American" I mean all people who live in America (the continent).
And I know the majority of people calls you only "American" but I think it's unfair because when they speak about someone who lives in Canada, they say "Canadian" and not "American", however a Canadian is as American as someone who lives in USA.
And about the North and South, for me America is only one continent, some people say that there are 2 continents but as said Joseph, for me too the North and the South are Sub-contienents. Plus on the Olympic games's flag, there is only one ring which represents America, there is not one for the North and one for the South
So yes, in America (continent), 80% of the fans live in USA xD
