Today (02/12/2014), they started an official international SCANDAL FB account! (in English)

it's about damn time! the world has probably been crying out for this since god knows when. and in english to boot. 1 step closer to greater international fame (not like they're not already famous, but it still helps)

I wonder what that means and if their strategy for the international market has changed.

We have this official english FB, PV of runners High in 1080p full version on youtube and they go to Hawaii in a few months. They also said during STANDARD promo that the first chapter is now over and that they just getting started.

Now maybe this means nothing or isn't that important but maybe it's the start of more to come for their international fans? Obviously they are not suddenly leave Japan and tour anywhere on the world but they always said they want to play in different countries and meet the fans.

Maybe this is the big first step and a change in their career to be more open to international.

Well, smart move from SCANDAL's staff. Maybe they finally took notice there're actually a lot of SCANDAL fans outside Japan? Too bad I don't use Facebook x)

I'm really happy that girls and their staff realized that SCANDAL became very popular overseas, in european and other asian countries!

Good thing indeed ! Because smaller bands already have a Facebook page and it's a good way to promote the band overseas.

Whew! I never thought they'd put up an official FB page. I've actually given up the hope and now this! And it's in English! I'm still not over the fact that they're in FB! Holy!   

Yeah, they may have noticed all the SCANDAL fan pages scattering about in FB in different languages. About time they noticed. *rolls eyes*

Anyway, I'm taking this as a one of the good signs (along with the full version in full HD of Runners High PV and having the song available in iTunes, not just in iTunes Japan) that they are reaching out to the international fan base. Well, the girls already know the existence of SH, but it really took the management/company a lot of time to decide to put up an international FB account. They must be weighing the value of the international as well as the local fans.

As soon as I start ditching facebook for the twitterverse SCANDAL opens their official international fb page. LOL.  
But yeah, good on them for finally adding another (major) social media outlet! I'm still gonna have the pages made by SH liked of course. ^^

I'm so glad they finally did it !! I liked the page since yesterday.   

Hope they will continue to promote for fans overseas. Maybe an international tour (at least Europe and North America) in 2015?  .wow.

holy~ i just found out about the official page! the unofficial fb page got like 214k likes and the official only has 13k. I think there's still alot of people not informed about it.

(i guess they're sticking to the ameblo.jp blog and scandal's official twitter for updates)

I've seen that for other bands as well (in my facebook friends list). Probably that the unofficial page comes higher in the search results. Plus a lot of people don't take the time to verify if it's the official page or not.

i guess. i wouldn't have known either if i didn't wander around reddit looking for a scandal band page. we should still stick to their twitter for updates and then maybe visit the fb page if it has more info about an update.

^ alviners agree but the official page isn't verified so most of scandal fans don't know that it's official. I just don't understand why isn't it verified.

They don't use it too much compared to twitter/blog, maybe the person in charge forgot or isn't that good with FB?

If someone speaks japanese (well english on their FB would work too I guess) you should mention that to them on FB/Twitter.

the FB page posts font style isn't your usual font style on your comments. they look like fonts made to support japanese characters. just a random observation

official or not official (yet until it gets verified), i think we still need to stick to their blogs and twitter for immediate updates. currently, they only post concerts and activities related to international fans (like the mtv81 which is a channel available on multiple countries) on the fb anyways.

Well it will surely get more now, maybe they will advertise it a little bit more now.

Let's put things in perspective here; if we type 'scandal band facebook' into google, we'll get the fanmade one automatically first. That one also has over 200k+ likes, whereas the official one is around third on the google list with a lot less likes. Pretty unconventional as well that the fanmade url is scandal.band too lol. You're probably gonna type up 'scandal band' instead of just 'scandal', so that makes things harder as well. If you type up just 'scandal' without the 'band' on google, then the official one isn't even on the first page. Bottom line is, it wasn't that smart of an idea to only make facebook now after something like, 6 years of being in the music industry. If they made a facebook since their debut, then I'm guessing they'd have a LOT more likes than they do atm. 

But on the bright side, it is great that the account is finally verified. Took quite a bit of time, but at least it's verified now.

^Agree.. If they created the page since their debut, they would have much more likes!
I was thinking about to start promoting on other scandal pages the official one, like in the end of every post, admins would write:
SCANDAL's official facebook page: *link*
I think other people would like it too, because it seems a lot of people don't know about the page and this way would help a little to gain more likes :3
