I watched "This Is It" in the cinema with my brother months after MJ died. When it got time for the band to take the stage, out came this blonde whom I thought at first was just a typical "house band" guitarist. But then she started shredding and showing off her skills... And man, my opinion about her changed in an instant. That girl can rock! She stood out in that movie/documentary, no doubt.
The next I would hear from Orianthi would be on one of the results shows of American Idol the following year, where she performed "According to You". And my opinion about her changed again. She's not just a badass guitarist, she can write songs and sing them too! That's pretty cool, I thought. And that song got stuck in my head for weeks.
Incredibly happy for her success right now - touring with Alice Cooper (she blends very well with that group, in my opinion) and a new album coming out tomorrow. She's got an even brighter future ahead of her. :bd
