Theme：RINA

I rehearsed by myself today.

On 6/8 (Sun.), I'll be appearing at 『TOSHI Matsuri! BUZZ☆DRUM～30th Anniversary & Birthday～　Produced by GLAY』 at Shibuya Public Hall.

On that day will be a wonderful series of collaborations.
Me and GLAY-san.
I'll be playing twin drums with Toshi-san on a GLAY-san song.
I wonder if there are people who got tickets? Within those that read this☺︎
I'm happy to have been invited to a wonderful stage before our arena performances. I'll do my best.

Q. If you didn't play drums, which instrument do you think you would have played?

I might have continued with the pianoー.
I don't think I would have joined a band☺︎
I might not have even after listening.

Q. You haven't made an official LINE account?

Q. What was your favorite food as a kid?

Chocolate☺︎
To avoid cavities, I wasn't allowed to have things like juice or sweets.
I had been taught that 「Chocolate is extremely spicy.」 One day my grandpa secretly gave me a piece of chocolate; I was so moved by taste and fell in love with it.

Q. What do you want to study from now?

English.
I want to be able to converse better with the audience and staff when we go overseas. I'm doing my best.

Q. Even though show biz is tough, how come you didn't give up?

I think it's tough for everyone, such as those in an instrument store, a car dealership, those in restaurants, and those in supermarkets☺︎

Q. How long had you been a band before your first live?

A week.
We were the opening act for an event of the dance & vocal school we had been going to.
Although it was a reckless challenge to just have a weeks worth of experience with instruments, we did our assignment so that we'd be able to carry the band on. We couldn't do a decent rehearsal, change strings, nor tune. It was absurd, but it was great.
It's like that for everyone at first
I'm glad we did it!

English, hum I guess that's good news for the future if she says that ^^ But it's not the first time she (or another member) talks about english. [*Dreaming*] Maybe they got confirmation of a World Tour so now she decided she needs to learn english fast! TOJ Onion

I wonder how many things they bought during their trip, they visited a lot of locations/stores.

Also wonder if the people who were there during this very first live remember them and think "I was there when SCANDAL was born and made their first live!".

japanese parents also use the "X food tastes like Y" trick to avoid/make children eat it :'D ...fell for that one too...
although it's a little bit cruel to tell Rina that chocolate was spicy xD

What would happen if they had a LINE? Isn't that the chatting app? Would they even give it to their fans if they made one? Lol so many questions.

RINA (and the other members) studies english for fans overseas, while fans overseas (some, maybe. Like me) studies japanese for SCANDAL Thumbs Onion

Let us all do our best XD Even though I don't know how many years would it take me.

I have no problem communicate with Rina in English! At the after show meet & greet in 2010, I asked Rina "Please come back again next year!" She replied "OK!" with a cute OK hand sign?
You know what? She keep the promise with another concert in 2011!
OT, anybody knows whether the record of Glay performed to 200,000 people in one concert was broke already?

I think she talks more about learning advanced english here. They have all learned english in school and I'm pretty sure they can handle small talk conversation very easily (Hey how are you, I love your new song, I'm 24 years old, etc). It's also easier to understand english then speaking it IMO.

But this is not the same as being able to do MCs in english or answers in english for the interviews where they usually have to make detailed answers (especially if it's live). You need to have a better knowledge to be able to do that and then you need to be comfortable. Obviously they are not shy and have no problem being in public but surely they don't feel comfortable enough to make a full english interview/MC yet. HARU said a few (short) sentences in english in the Hawaii concert.

A recent example is J-MELO I think or that interview for an MTV channel where the host spoke half english half japanese and where the target audience was not japanese. They could have used english there but weren't comfortable enough yet I guess. Maybe it's also something their staff doesn't want yet to avoid any mistakes or weird moments. As fans we would love that but maybe their staff or the girls think it's unprofessional, too slow, etc.

Anyway, I'm sure SCANDAL will be around for maaaaaany years and they will continue to come overseas and improve their english so little by little it will be easier for them if they want to speak in english .love. Who knows maybe in a few years they will try to market the band more internationally and make lots of english interviews .smile.

LINE has timeline feature similiar to twitter, so maybe they were considering that.
