Going by Rina's last Vlog Mami doesn't seem to have any problem setting things on fire

As a guy who done camping since I was young. I agreed with Tomomi about camping, just lazing around drinking drink beer under starry night sky.

some notes:
1. Timo busts out her own Boker and starts to baton firewood. Another reason she is moving up in my book. And the rest of them did great with the batonning, taking care to *try* not to baton the knife into the stone and ruin the edge lol. 
2. Kirin stock just went up, i reckon. I mean, I typically order sapporo, but this will make me order Kirin for no other reason than "i saw them do it". im weak. 
3. Hammock scene. More wholesomeness. so much wholesome. i just can't.

It a fun video, but why in the 21st century would you try to make fire by shooting a spark when you have a lighter?

Because lighters fail, run out of gas, etc.

Always good to know how to start a fire without modern means (former Boy Scout).

Like BMC said, you wont always have a lighter. They were lucky they had the torch though. It is definitely easier. 

The first time I took my son camping, I tasked him with making the fire. Sent him out with a Ka-bar and a small hatchet to gather wood. Then I handed him a ferro rod (like what they used in the video) and some chapstick. I told him he would probably never have to use this skill and I hope he never will. When he finally got the fire started, I lit a cigarette with my lighter hahahaha. 

The last time I took him camping we all tried by rubbing dry wood together (like tom hanks did in castaway). we all failed. went back to the ferro rod and I made coffee, spam and eggs for breakfast. then lit a cigarette with my lighter hahahaha. 

Always wanted a reason to visit japan. I was hoping my son would get stationed there some day. Doesn't look like thats gonna happen now. So I don't know if I ever will. But if I do, im going to Yokohama. That factory looks like its right up my alley.

Yes, I understand that this is like the rules of survival. And they succeeded, although the fire that they got immediately went out, they need to train more.

If you check out the photos of the place, it's pretty decent if you decide not to "rough it" ha ha. You can even see the bundles of firewood Tomomi uses on sale in the lobby, by the cafe.

seems like the perfect place to bring a "beginner" for their first experience. get them addicted to the cool factors of camping out before slowly taking those amenities away until they find themselves actually "roughing it" and enjoying every second of it. matter of fact, thats how i got hooked.

Agree. Plus there's a way to plug your amps without hauling in a generator, and a place for the camera crew to stay. A nice cup of coffee out in the woods in the morning, with the smell of a campfire nearby is awesome.

I'm really impressed that they managed to eat those juicy burgers without getting any on them. Much better at that than I am. LOL.

Curious though, why didn't Mami eat the burger? Is she a vegetarian?

She ate the actual burger patty. It looks like she scooped out a few pieces of it from the pan and put it on her plate.

What she did not eat is the bun. She's been following a gluten-free diet for a while, hence no burger buns.

i was wondering the same thing. thanks for the clarification. 

is there a thread on this somewhere? like their individual diets? and how they stay so thin? do they have a workout regimen? things like that? is it creepy that im interested in that? lol 

NGL i kinda liked MAMI when she wasn't so thin (kinda made her stand out), but im not complaining either.

Best not to publicly comment about someone else's body like that. It's intrusive and not very considerate - You wouldn't tell MAMI that directly to her face, would you? This is why you will not find any threads about their diets, etc. here, nor do we allow them.
