MNL48 is getting a lot of hate here in PH simply because some of them don't understand 48g's "idols you can meet" and "girls next door" concept and they keep comparing them to Korean idols.

I like MNL48's version of " Aitakatta"  and I think they have a lot of promise, and yes I know they have a lot of problems but I think they can be a worthy successor to AKB48.

@rikitasu very true and very sad. I admit even I had doubts myself but after watching their MV for their version of Aitakatta I say they have the potential to be the next big thing.  (MV's filter is so heavy tho. Can't see a thing. LoL)

@tonymiller I think I forgot to thank you for unintentionally guiding me to Aitakatta so thanks! I really liked the song because, surprisingly, it gives this odd but satisfying feeling of listening to a Japanese music yet understanding its meaning through the words and mood of the Filipino. It also made me realize that MNL48's songs will be as good, if not better, as their Japanese counterparts because the Filipino language has the same fixed pronunciation of letters and words as Nihongo.

Wow. This thread has been dead for a couple of years. It's nice to see someone revive it.

We now have a an AKB sub group in China called SNH48. They're alright but it's actually introducing the Chinese fans to the original AKB48 girls.

We dont mention SNH48, they had their licence taken away for being bad

But there is a new AKB48 Team TP ( Taipei )
They were formerly TPE48 but after the girls had not been paid for 4 months the Management was dissolved and replaced by the Chen Brothers who are well known in Taiwan.

Yes some people are not mad about the foreign sister groups but I strongly disagree and I am a huge BNK48 ( Bangkok ) fan these days

Among many other things they formed a sister group and sister groups dont have the right to make other sister groups, only AKS back in Japan can do that.

Oh, I didn't know that. So they are not part of AKB anymore?

Sadly no, but they still perform in China and still have their sister group.

There are lots of sister groups popping up all over the country here. Almost everyday in fact. They're not very popular though, not as SNH48.

Well Aki-P is just as bad, it was so easy in 2006 with just AKB48's Team A and 20 girls, now there are so many 48's and girls.

Even I dont know all of them

His next venture which starts in September is a 'National Idol Band'....whatever that is !

No only 3 Japanese girls made it into the final 12, Sakura Miyawaki, Nako Yabuki and Hitomi Honda.
Yes I would liked to have seen how Jurina did as well, there are rumours she returns from sick leave this month ( September ) I hope so.

But being the new Super Group IZONE is supposed to last two and a half years I am not sure how the girls will do that and still be in the 48 Group ?

Yeah, I've already heard the news about Jurina's comeback (and I believe I saw some new photos of her with the band, if I am not mistaken).

Well I dunno about all of them but I saw a post by Hitomi-chan, and she said that she is gonna stop her activity in 48 for upcoming 2 years to concentrate on IZone. I think she will return afterwards and I hope she will become even more popular

Yes the IZ*ONE contract is for two and a half years, so anything could happen in that time, I hope they come back to the 48 Group.

I still have my signed photos of Haruna Kojima on my wall. I remember having a huge crush on her when she was in AKB. I wonder what she is doing now.

I have everything AKB48 have produced which is a lot but I highly value my Miichan keyring a Japanese friend got for me in 2006

Kojiharu had been a model for Peach John since 2013 and that is what she is doing full time now and also appearing in dramas and TV stuff.

Welp...Sayanee graduated. It's a real shame to see her go since she was one of my favorites in NMB(though I didn't pay too much attention to the group). Hopefully, NMB will be able to find a new center soon.

Yes Sayanee is going to leave a big hole in NMB48 which will not be easy to fill.
Being she is an excellent singer and a guitar player I am really hoping she will start her own Band, I am sure Mami would help her, we know Mami loves idols


What did surprise me though is that Kojirin ( Karin Kojima ) is the new Leader of NMB48 and she only joined them in 2016 !

Yeah, Sayanee making a band or even joining an existing one(Scandal? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ) would be really great. Some of her solo songs were good, and she's definitely skilled at guitar.

Yeah, I was also shocked about Kojirin becoming the new captain. I wonder if her popularity will increase as well?
