Some info and music by my favorite Visual Kei band, Versailles.

In March 2007, Versailles was formed by Kamijo (Lareine), Hizaki (Sulfuric Acid) and Jasmine You (Jyakura). Later, Teru (Aikaryu) and Yuki (Sugar Trip), who were recommended by the "Rock May Kan", a venue in Tokyo, joined the band.

Kamijo and Hizaki created the concept of Versailles in the autumn of 2006 and spent six months gathering members to express it. Their concept is “The absolute Youshikibi (beauty of form) sound and extremes of aestheticism”.

On August 9, 2009 Jasmine You passed away. He had taken time off in order to rest because of poor physical condition. Then early in the morning of the August 9th, he died. Because of the extreme abruptness of this news, the members and staff are all dumbfounded and trying hard to accept this it. They have taken an activity pause and will announce when they will return in the future.

Serenade. This song is a tribute to their fallen bandmate, friend, and brother, Jasmine You.

I know Sad Serenade is such a powerful, yet sad song...the PV is sad as well, especially when you can see all the members standing there, without Jasmine. .shy. you can really feel the emotion in the song and video.

I'm glad they're continuing to make music, in tribute to Jasmine You. I can't wait for Jubilee! .clap.

YAYZ! fellow Versailles fans!

I'm really sad that Jasmine You passed away. it's weird seeing four people in a PV instead of 5 like there should be....

Versailles's newest album came out January 20 (a.k.a Wednesday.) If you want to listen to all the music, you can listen to it at: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I am obssessed with Teru. xD he's just so cute..........

I think their new album is beyond awesome. Sure, there is a song or two I don't care for, but overall the album is great! Much better than Noble, for sure(there's only maybe 3 or 4 tracks I still listen to, off this album).

I love the track "Amorphous", because it's so different compared to their normal stuff, yet it's still got their style all over it. Ascendead Master is still my favorite, though.

I love the new album. Noble was great, but Jubliee steps it up a notch.
I can't really pin one song down that I like the most. I can really feel Teru's energy coming through "Reminiscence." (<-- He composed the music for it) And Ascendead Master and Serenade were big hits with me. But, I can't really pin down one that I like the most.

They are one of the best visual kei bands out there! Their elements of neo-classical metal really make their music rock! ... and HIZAKI! He is sooo 'kawaii' ... hehehe. Makes me wanna borrow my sister's make-up to put on..

but now that they lost Jasmine You, i don't think they can call themselves the Versailles Philharmonic Quintet any more. .toj.

During their performance of Ascendead Master at the V-Rock Festival, they had someone else playing bass, although he wasn't all dressed up...and when they played live on TV they just used Jasmine's bass track over the PA system.

The bassist in their V-Rock performance is You from Matenrou Opera. Its like a temporarily bassist.

Most guitars and basses on music show live in japan are recorded, only the vocal and drum are live.

This is true...but they were actually playing, and the only recorded part was the bass.

Anyway, I hope they find a permanent bassist, but it will be hard to replace Jasmine You.

They need a bassist sooner or later. Hizaki can't always do the bass track recording in the future.

I'm excited for the new single, released in 5 days.

I ordered the Type A Limited Edition, which comes with a Live DVD, and if you're quick enough an A2 sized poster.
I'll post pics etc when It's delivered; the cover art is awesome.

Yeah, judging from the samples this new single is going to be amazing. Here's a live version of the song, with bits from the PV thrown in

I got poster #96, I'm not sure how many were printed though.
I've not had chance to listen yet, or watch the DVD, but I'll probably be writing a review for my blog & U-G.com

Also, I uploaded the single to Youtube:

Sorry if this is reviving a dead topic. But I don't want to make another Versailles topic.

So, what do you Versailles fans think of their newest single [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]?

I think that HIZAKI looks absolutely awesome in that black dress in Philia. That dress + those boots = Win. I would totally turn gay for him and that look. Oh, and it seems they found a new bassist...

Versailles sound reminds me of X-Japan because of the guitar sound and drum style. They are really good musicians.
