Next Stage
Theme：RINA

We did a shoot for a music magazine in the morning. It was interestingー.
The photographer was a party animalー. The photos are sure to be cool and adorableー!

It was the first time my new drums and I have been photographed togetherー. Her name's Celine.

I went with a bass drum that's 16", which is 2" thinner than my previous one.
I also went wild with customizing them this time too.

The base color is a creamy white pearl.
I made only the ring of the port hole gold. Visuals certainly are important, since I'll be with her for a long time.

I've been using 10-tension brass snares recently.

The stopper in front is indispensable.
The only Celine in the world has been completed.
If you're not sure which drum maker to go with, I definitely recommend Pearl.

I much prefer TAMA or Ludwig but Pearl is ok I guess...

I prefer TAMA instead of Pearl, but I like CMC Drum (Thailand custom drum) the most.

Instead of thinner I prefer the word "shallower" LOL. Yes the bass drum is shallower and the diameter size itself is also smaller. Angelina is 24" x 18" and Celine is 22" x 16". Unfortunately I'm stupid when it comes to drum tones. Next Stage - 2013-04-04 (RINA) 56458

However, from what I know smaller diameter creates faster rebounds so the possibility of playing faster and lighter is even bigger. Also, shallower bass drums have a more focused sound and less boomy and after I come to realize it I don't even know what I'm talking about. Next Stage - 2013-04-04 (RINA) 56458

Anyway, I think Rina wants her rack tom to be a little bit lower. It's more comfortable that way. CMIIW

Rina already use Celine during Osaka Jou-Hall live, you can check out the videos on youtube and compare her new drums sound with the previous ones. Next Stage - 2013-04-04 (RINA) 628112

Imo, I still prefer her previous drums than this one.. sonically

M-On's audio editing for Jo-Hall's live was poor so I don't think you could really compare the sound based on that. The best way to compare both of the drums is of course to hear them directly. I don't think SCANDAL will give permission for that Next Stage - 2013-04-04 (RINA) 282732

or at least wait for the DVD to be released, whenever that is.

from what i know, i have a same bass drum with this one, 22x16".. typically the sound is more "roundy" than the bigger one.. but, it depend on the head and tune she use., seriously, i can't wait she perform with this drum..
