I am looking forward to getting whatever the promoters decide to send as a "special gift" but I must say that I got to stand there with Scandal and get my picture made, I got to see Scandal live (something I've dreamed of) and I got to buy swag at the Scandal show, so I've already got my money's worth and more. The only disappointing thing is I don't think the show was promoted and the crowd was quite small.
If I could swing it, I would love to go to Japan and see then with 10,000 people, but the fans in Dallas were great and the show was awesome. They rocked the house as if it were full to the max and that is worthy of respect right there. Some bands get lazy if the crowd is too small, but Scandal played it like it was Budokan just for us few.

Just know that 99% of their Japanese shows are *not* in front of 10,000 people. Most of them are like the Dallas show. I've been to four of their Japanese shows, including both the first Budokan show as well as shows (after that) that were actually smaller than their NYC show on this tour. Trust me - they're used to and perfectly fine with shows in front of a couple thousand people or even less. That's their bread and butter. 10,000 people is a huge and special show for them. Probably 1/3 of all those big shows that they've ever done have been made into DVD's, so it seems like they've done more than they have. (I'm not counting summer festival shows, which by nature are mostly going to be fans of other bands anyway.)
But back to being on topic, I just got my tracking number today... for a package I got on November 5th! So yeah, obviously these promoters are more than a little disorganized.

I just received my gift in the mail today. It surprised me, because they never sent me the e-mail with the tracking number.

The email I received last Monday said I would be receiving my gifts for BOTH Anaheim and SF in the mail soon. Well, I received that package this past Saturday and it only contained my gifts for Anaheim. Sigh. Can't say I'm surprised at all about their incompetency anymore, unfortunately lol

Does the Japan side know how poorly things were handled here? Or do they not really care? (I don't expect them to do anything about it, but I would hope they might choose to partner with different people the next time they want to do shows in the US.)

Yes, they know all about it. They know that this was the promoter's fault and left them to take care of the mess they caused, so I'm sure they'll at least definitely go with a different promoter next time.

I finally got my VIP gift last night and I laughed out loud when I opened the package. Even though I knew what it was going to be ahead of time I couldn't believe this is what $180+ airfare and hotel got me. For me the whole point of the VIP was the opportunity to meet the band and take a photo. That was well worth the cost. I didn't really care if I got a gift, although something autographed would have been nice to frame.
But what was especially funny (and timely) for me was that I had just come home from a concert in which I got to randomly meet and talk to one of my favorite guitarists (Richie Kotzen), as well as Joey Kramer (Aerosmith), for no cost what-so-ever. Perspective is everything.

Received my VIP gift from the Dallas show last night. Never received tracking number.
I mostly did VIP to ensure a good viewing spot, but these were some of the higher priced VIP tickets for shows I attend so I wish it was all executed better, unfortunate that the promotors promised a gift as part of the ticket package, completely dropped it on all US shows, then they barely cared to try to correct it / make up for it. Definitely hope this is the last time they use this promotor.
Anyway, the shows were amazing. And it was amazing meeting many of you in line at the three shows I attended on this tour. I look forward to sharing the experience the next time they come to North America.

The email I got today contained the tracking number for my SF gift (which I never received and wondered why). When I checked the tracking info, the "addressee" (AKA me) was apparently deemed "unknown" by the post office and, after two weeks of being in limbo, was returned back to the sender in Georgia yesterday. Despite my receiving the gifts for the other 3 shows with no problem, they somehow had a problem sending me this one...

Both. Incompetence because the promoters "forgot" to give us the gifts in the first place + they're doing something wrong to have some gifts being returned to sender; lack of effort because of the ultra-low quality of these "gifts" and how slowly they're distributing them.
Also, at least(?) I'm not alone in having a gift being returned to sender. But this really shouldn't be happening in the first place.

So they had sent me the wrong amount for San Francisco so I sent them an email, to my surprise, finally they managed to send me the gift for the missing San Francisco and final Anaheim together. Save them a bit of international postage hah. So it completed my NY/SF/Anaheim gifts. Good luck everyone

Since I did say wayback when that I would post it, here's my write-up of the tour + a handful of pictures I shot, if anyone cares lol. Super late, I know, but I wanted to wait until this VIP gift debacle was settled. Can't believe how long it took. I finally got my final shipment on December 28th. -_-

- Got there two days early with my friends. Although we only got to sightsee and stuff for a little bit, it was still a lot of fun. Did not appreciate the heat and humidity, though. A few of us also were seriously planning on welcoming the band at the airport but abandoned that idea when we realized how much it would cost/how long it would take to get there lol
Day of the NY show we got in line early and took shifts waiting throughout the day. We busted out the SH banner for everyone to sign around 3:30 pm. Thanks to everyone who signed it!
After too much waiting, doors finally opened. I got to be the very first one in, but that meant that I had no idea where to go. This venue is kind of complicated with all kinds of escalators and turns you have to take, and absolutely no one was trying to direct me on where I needed to go. Eventually, one of my friends and I end up in the room where the actual concert hall is. We're like, "Nice!" and then realize how no one else was coming. A few seconds later, an employee motions for us to come with him. Apparently, we had taken the wrong route when everyone else had taken the correct one and ended up at the correct room we were supposed to be going to. Thanks for NOT directing us on where to go from the start, PlayStation Theater staff!
So we got to the correct room/line and, because our friends are awesome, we got to go back to our rightful, original spots in line. Unfortunately, there was some other cutting in the line that occurred, which was not cool at all.
We were lined up in front of a room. We stood there waiting in line for a minute or so when an employee opened the door to walk through it and, since my bf and I were at the front of the line, caught a glimpse of what was going on inside. Right in front of us about ten feet away was the band. We caught a small glimpse of each other before the door closed again.
Finally, the door opens for real and my bf and I get to go in first. We walked in and started saying hi and waving to the band. They recognized us and excitedly went, "Aaah!" The last time we got to talk to/meet HARU+TOMO+RINA in person was in Hawaii in 2016, and the last time for MAMI was on their world tour in 2015, so we said "Hisashiburi! (It's been a while!)" to them, and they said "Hisashiburi!" back.
They also quickly noticed my outfit. This day I was wearing their red pajama-like outfit they wore on their HONEY hall tour in Japan this past spring. I had managed to find red satin PJs that looked like theirs, but I had to DIY the corset-like belt + suspenders because there's absolutely nothing being sold that looks like that/theirs was probably custom-made. They were like, "Sugoi! Jibun de tsukutta? (Did you make that yourself?)" I replied that I did, and RINA was like, "Kanpeki! (It's perfect!)" I say thanks and we step in to take the picture.
After it was taken we all said thanks to each other, and as I was walking away, I said, "See you in San Francisco!" lol kinda lame, but saying that I'd see them in the next city is something that I started doing on their world tour. They were like, "Eh?!" and as we were leaving the room I heard them saying things like "Sugoi!" and laughing excitedly haha.
We were then directed to the main floor after that where we secured our usual spots in the center in front of HARU + RINA. While waiting for the show to start, a handful of people came up and said hi, so thanks for that! Also, thank you so much to Danny and everyone else who clapped hahahaha I was honestly not expecting that!
ngl, my details of the show are a bit fuzzy now/others have already posted more detailed accounts, but I do remember that I could feel the excitement in the air from both the band and the crowd, which made for a great show and experience overall.
Some things mentioned during the MCs:
-They asked if there was anyone who came 10 years ago. A girl cheered and HARU said, in English, "Really? You a liar?" lol
-They mentioned that last time they were still an indie band and hadn't had their major label debut yet, so no one in the audience knew about them. In English, HARU acted out that the band was like, "We are SCANDAL!" and the audience would be like, "Who's this?", but today, everyone was like "Yayyyy!"
-As they were ending their second MC in the middle of the set and HARU was about to start "Sisters," a girl yelled out something like "Let's get it! Woooo!" which made HARU stop, smile, and say, "No way!" while the audience laughed lol
*Note about the pictures: I personally don't like the framing of most of these (I was focused more on the actual show than getting "good" shots), but I tried to pick out the ones with the most interesting content!
All in all, a really fun show. The crowd was excited, the band was excited, the crowd participation was great. This show ranked overall 2nd/3rd (tie between this and Mexico City) on the tour for me.
The roadies/techs were throwing picks from the stage afterwards. One of them threw a used HARU pick towards my direction, it fell on the ground, and, while saying "Sorry!", I managed to beat out two older guys and successfully picked up the pick
My friends and I didn't wait around to see the band to come out to their van afterwards, but two of us did coincidentally pass by the theater later on right when they did go into the van and we got to see them off!
San Francisco:

- Flew to SF the day after the NY show and then waited again in line from early on. A few of us took our friends that had come from Japan around to sightsee for a bit and *just* missed seeing SCANDAL at Golden Gate Bridge. We had just gotten there when the band started posting on their IG Stories that they had just been there lol.
Got to be the first one inside again, and for some reason this M&G was really rushed. No sooner did I and about five of my friends get inside the M&G room when they suddenly brought the band out and started the M&G right away. It was really weird how rushed it was.
So my bf and I go up to them and jokingly say "Hisashiburi!" while laughing, and they jokingly say it back to us while laughing too lol. Right before they started letting us inside I had been standing outside with my arms crossed because it was getting really cold. One of my friends saw me and said I should do that pose with the band. I thought why not, and asked them to do that pose haha. Only HARU and TOMO heard me, though lol. After the picture I of course had to tell them "See you in Anaheim!" while walking away, and I totally almost walked into one of the studio lights they had set up lol
After we got our usual spots in the center, my bf headed off to buy merch for basically our entire group. We got so much stuff that they gave it to us in a huge box and let us keep it there until after the show.
This show, IMO, was extremely underwhelming. My least favorite of the tour, and might even be my least favorite SCANDAL show I've been to. I thought the crowd (at least near me; I know that the MAMI side was going nuts lol) was very, very weak and almost non-participatory. The band was having fun, but not as much fun as they were having in NY. They didn't seem as excited.
Another sign that shows, IMO, that the band wasn't having as much fun as they could have been having: The MCs were extremely short. Basically, the only things they mentioned were that they had a lot of fun at Fisherman's Wharf, and that last time they hadn't been able to go anywhere.
Oh, and this was the only stop of the tour where no pictures/videos were allowed to be taken. Very odd.
Yeah, that's all I can really say about this show. lol
Anaheim:

- Really glad that a majority of my group and I got to go back home to LA (which is only about 30 miles from Anaheim) during the halfway point of the tour! We flew from SF the day after the show and, again, waited again from early on.
At one point I had left to change and came back wearing an outfit that many people were surprised to see. A little more on that in a bit.
After the insanely stupid ticket check-in fiasco was over with, we got funneled into a room and saw that the spot where you'd take a picture with the band was on a little stage in front of everyone. Really weird and really embarrassing.
We were waiting in that room for a long time before the band finally came out. I was first one up and got a great reaction from the band because I was wearing this...
haha so I already happened to own the skirt, and in between the NY and SF shows I ordered the bralette and top and had it arrive at my place the day before the Anaheim show (You're a lifesaver, Amazon Prime!). The band kept smiling and going "Eh?! Sugoi!" and I told them I already had the skirt so I thought I'd try imitating the entire outfit lol. The pressure of doing the M&G in front of everyone (I also heard a lot of chatter start from the crowd when I got on stage) made me forget to say anything else to them besides thanks at the end haha.
Next up was my bf who was carrying the Fan Letter Project and told them that they were messages from everyone at SH. They said things like "Kawaii! Sugoi!" and RINA grabbed the project from him lol
Got the usual spots in the center, and it was great to see that my friends filled up basically the entire front row!
This show was hands down the best show of the tour for me. LA/Anaheim shows are always the best, honestly lol. But seriously, the crowd participation/excitement was insane and the band looked like they were having a ton of fun.
MCs (best of the tour lol):
-HARU mentioned that it had been 3 years since their last show in Anaheim. She then said "Tadaima!"
-HARU then said how they had lots of memories about LA/Anaheim. They had first come ten years ago and have come many times since then. She also said how they went to Disneyland, but I think she kind of got confused at how the previous HOB Anaheim was on Disney property but not actually inside of Disneyland lol.

-RINA: "I want to update my memories for Disneyland. But, we'll go to Six Flags!"
-HARU: "Who has been to Six Flags?"
*Crowd cheers loudly*
-SCANDAL: "Awesome! Nice!"
-HARU: "Fun?"

-HARU: "Ano, chotto (Uh, is it a little)...scary?"
*Mixed reactions from the crowd*
-HARU: "No? No? They're saying it's not scary."
*People in the crowd start yelling "Kowai! (scary)"*

-HARU & RINA: "It's 50/50."

-HARU: "We can't wait for Six Flags, but there's still much more fun to be had today."
After returning for the encore (again, bold = spoken in English):
HARU: "You guys are so pumped up! Are you having fun? We too! We have having fun! "We have having fun"? Oh, that's a little weird. We having fun! It's so much fun! Thanks! There are a lot of people here who also came three years ago, and I'm sure there are people here today seeing us for the first time. We're so happy that we got to see all kinds of people today! Thank you so much! Thank you for your support! Thanks for always supporting us from far away! Anaheim, we love you! We really love you. We'll go back to Japan and work hard so that we can come back and see everyone in Anaheim again."
The next day a few of my friends and I did go to Six Flags (partially to see if we could catch the band, partially to take our out-of-town friends to have fun) but we never ran into the band, probably because we arrived a little too late. Still fun, though!
On a different note: The amount of people who asked the band member to switch places in the M&G pictures was staggering. Those who think that switching members is not rude, you're wrong. None of my group, who were the first ones up, asked any of them, but once one person (from Japan) asked them to switch, it was an insane domino effect and almost every single person after that asked some of the members to switch. Not too long after that, the members who were asked to switch started giving people dirty looks. That means that they don't like nor appreciate doing that. It also ate up a lot of time. So you cannot say that asking them to switch is not rude. It IS rude.
Due to this, the band refused all requests to switch for the last three shows and will probably decline every time from here on. Good riddance.
Monterrey:

- I hate Mexico's airports lol. Too crowded with weird layouts. We almost missed our connecting flight to Monterrey.
The day before the show my friends and I went to eat a restaurant called La Nacional. Sound familiar? That's where the band went to eat the same time we were there, but at a different location. So many misses for us on this trip lol
The t-shirts in Mexico were a bit different than the ones they were selling in the US. The only shirt that they were selling in both countries was the blue Special Thanks tour shirt, but even those were different. The US one was a light royal blue and thin, light orange and yellow screenprint. The Mexico one was a dark royal blue with thick, dark red-orange and yellow screenprint. The M&G was also after the show, for whatever reason.
So we grab our usual spots towards the center, but this venue's barricade was so high and uncomfortable. The stage was also really far away. It was also extremely hot and humid inside due to the only circulation being some fans near the ceiling.
MCs:
-HARU started singing "Recuérdame" (Remember Me) from the movie Coco during one of the MCs, but not a lot of people knew the words/a lot didn't sing along lol. I honestly didn't know what song it was until after the show. Then, the crowd starting singing "Cielito Lindo" for some reason lol
-The band then mentioned how the crowd last time in Mexico City sang "Las Mananitas" (the birthday song) and the crowd then started singing that lol
This show was pretty fun with good crowd participation + excitement and the band seemed to be having fun too. It ranks 4th overall for me.
Like I said before, it was so hot and humid in the venue, so having the M&G after the show was definitely a bad idea.
For some reason they were only letting people go up one at a time, so I went up to take another solo picture with them. As I was coming, I heard them go "Ah, kita! (She came!)", which is what they said three years ago at the Mexico City M&G haha. It felt a little rushed as well so I didn't really get to say anything to them, but I was wearing HARU's TaiBan Tour outfit and, according to my friends, HARU looked me up and down when I first went up to them, and I think they made another comment to me about my outfit but I wasn't quite listening and just said "Thanks!" in response lol. As I was walking away I remembered to say "See you in Mexico City!" and RINA giggled lol
Also, one of the reasons why I wore that outfit was because my friend has the same one and we coordinated to wear it at this show.
They gave us our VIP gifts after, which turned out to be a LoveJapan drawstring backpack + signed poster! This would change in Mexico City, however.......
Mexico City:

- We technically got in line before anyone else, but due to some.......very unreasonable people, we ended up as numbers ＃12-17. -____-
Before the show, we found out that the venue didn't do will call for whatever reason (even though they did it three years ago), which meant that we had to go to a Ticketmaster outlet that had will call in order to pick up our tickets. We located and Uber'd to the closest one, which, after a lot of searching, ended up being inside of a sketchy train station. Very odd.
We got back and soon found out that they would essentially be corralling the VIPs in a small area in front of the doors. They did this last time as well. Basically, we were all crammed together in a very small space for two hours. -___-
They let us in around 5, and due to people taking longer with security/bag check/etc., I end up being the sixth or so person in line, and my friends were a few people down from me. So at least that worked out okay. We were moved to the stage area for only a few minutes before we were taken to the room backstage where the previous M&G was also held.
I go up for another solo picture, assuming that the same rules held as in Monterrey (they didn't...big surprise lol). The band goes, "Platform Syndrome!" I tried to say that the sweatshirt was custom-made, but I don't think they heard me because everything seemed a little rushed again lol. As I was leaving, I said "See you in Dallas!" but don't remember if I got a response back.
Grabbed the usual spot and we all proceeded to want to die while waiting another two whole hours for the show to start while listening to the same pre-show playlist they had been playing before every show of the tour. It gets super annoying when you're forced to listen to the same elevator-like songs over and over again lol
This show was actually a lot of fun! I enjoyed it a lot more than the previous Mexico City show, and the fans seemed much more civilized this time (they actually quieted down when the band wanted to talk lol). However, I'm sorry to hear that there were so many rude people MAMI's side that affected a lot of the people there
Overall, great crowd participation + energy and the band was having a really good time too. They smiled a lot! It's tied at 2nd/3rd place for me with the New York show, but I think this possibly was a tad bit better/more fun than NY!
Like last time, unfortunately, the photo pit was SWARMING with people. There had to be like 50 people in that small space all trying to take pictures/videos, or worse: Live streaming. -_- And because there were so many people they were basically up in our faces, so I didn't really care where my hand/arm happened to go when cheering for songs lol. Really wish they had only been there for the first song instead of the first three. We also didn't appreciate how so many LoveJapan staff people stayed there basically the entire show. Additionally, it was pretty lame how there were a bunch of audience members glued to their phones filming the entire time.
HARU did the MC almost entirely in Spanish. My friend managed to get and give me HARU's Spanish MC paper
, which is written in katakana + includes Japanese translations, so I can tell you guys that she talked about how they were happy to be able to come back to Mexico, that the next day was Mexico's independence day, they practiced (idk what for; I guess the show? lol), they'll sing in Mexico (?? weird lol), and that they hoped to see everyone again.
Oh, and MAMI very nearly fell/almost rolled her ankle during "Take Me Out" while dancing in her very high platform sneakers
So in Monterrey, they gave us a signed poster as part of the perks. I mentioned that this changed in Mexico City. Here, they handed us the gifts (same red drawstring backpack + rolled up poster) right after leaving the M&G area. Since the posters were rolled up and didn't want them to get messed up, no one even thought to check them until after the show. When people did, they realized that these posters were not signed. WTF. Sigh. It turns out that, for whatever reason this time, they decided to only give the Preferente ticketholders a signed poster while the VIP ticketholders got a non-signed poster. I was able to confirm this with a friend of mine who had also bought a Preferente ticket and the staff, upon handing him his bag after the M&G (he checked later and this one was unsigned), noticed his different colored wristband and gave him a second bag which contained signed poster. Ugh. So inconsistent. Another friend of mine and I did get extra Preferente tickets as well, but we weren't able to get it after the show due to reasons. After the tour ended, I asked a friend to message the promoter about it, and they said they would ship the signed posters...but STILL haven't actually gotten around to it. Sigh. They might just be as bad as the US promoters lol
After the show we went to eat with our friend Dany and her family at the place across the street from the venue and had another great time there too!
Dallas:

- After getting only about 2 hours of sleep after the Mexico City show, my friends and I headed to the airport super early in the morning to catch our flight to Dallas. Once we got to Dallas we napped right away for a few hours lol.
We guessed which flight the band might show up on, and although we didn't get it correct (they took the flight right before the one we thought it was), we still managed to catch them. We just said hi, a friend handed RINA a bag of gifts for the band, and we said that we'd see them tomorrow. Pretty chill.
Got in line early once more, and we ended up moving the line to across the street since the venue's side was in direct sunlight for almost the entire day. Since it was also unbelievably humid, we also took turns sitting our rental car for the AC lol.
We were let in for the M&G around 5. Just as my bf and I were about to go up to the band, a few of our friends in back of us start yelling at us for the keys the rental car. Since we had stopped to look back at them and see what was going on, the staff then started telling us to basically hurry up. The band was also staring at our friends yelling too haha. We were like WTF?? and so confused!
We ultimately ended up going up to the band first. Kind of wished we didn't because we were so distracted and didn't get to say everything we wanted to. Oh well. I told them congrats for completing the tour and they said thanks. Oh, my bf and I were also wearing the shirts from HARUNA WEEK (and TOMO's skirt from the HONEY T-Shirt Edition shoot) and RINA WEEKs at Feedback!, and I think at least HARU noticed; I don't think RINA did. Since I was so distracted, I didn't remember to say anything else to them at the end besides thanks. Sigh. Oh well lol.
Oh, but as we were leaving and one of the staff members was handing my bag back to me (I gave it to them before going up for the picture), HARU noticed that I had the same holo Dickies bag as her. She smiled, pointed, and said "Ah! It's the same!" hahaha. Still distracted, I just laughed and said something like, "Sou! (Yes!)" and kind of just left after that lololol. Much regret.
Got the usual spot near the center, and I was surprised to see that they were playing the DVD of SCANDAL's 10th anniversary live on the giant digital screen at the back of the stage. Too bad they cut it off right after the M&G ended.
This show was pretty good, ranking 5th on my ranking, but the 4,300 capacity venue was not even close to being full. At all. I've heard that only several hundred tickets were sold, and I could definitely tell when I looked back right before the show started and there were less than 10 rows of people behind me.
Also, I noticed that a lot of people didn't know what to do for the songs so it felt kind of like we in the front had to lead everyone, but I think most picked it up pretty well!
MC:
-They talked about it was the finale of the tour, how they were in Dallas for the first time, and about walking around the area close to the venue.

-HARU: "Ano, sakki ne (Earlier), we went to around this venue."
-Crowd (confused): "Eh?"
-HARU: "Chotto wakannai? (You don't understand?)"

-HARU: "You don't know about it." (People were probably confused because she called it "ice candy" instead of "popsicle"; absolutely no one in the US calls popsicles "ice candy")
The band then started talking among themselves and MAMI mentioned Chills, an ice cream shop nearby. Some people cheered, which made the band think it's a popular place.
-HARU: "We didn't go there, but we went to Picole Pops. We went to that popsicle place and all had popsicles. It was delicious."
-RINA: "It was delicious!"
*Crowd cheers*
-HARU: "It was really good. We recommend ice candy shop."
*RINA, HARU, & the crowd laughs*
-RINA: "Even though it's our first time here!"
-HARU: "Yeah! We really recommend it! Dallas, this city... Dallas is so nice! Cool! We love Dallas!"
During the MC right before the encore they talked about how today was the finale of this tour, that they think it was a really great tour, and that the'll definitely come back to the US and Mexico again.
Our group:
The day after Dallas is when all of my friends and I headed back to our respective states/countries. We actually got to catch the band the airport as they were boarding and sent them off!
And that's about it. Can't wait for next time!
Random things:

- -While the tour was fun overall, of course, some aspects of it seemed like not a lot of thought/effort was put into it (rather lazy merch designs, lack of promised "gift" to VIPs, same set list each time, same outfits, little to no promotion before the tour). Not saying it's solely the band's fault, obviously. It's just that I wish just a little more effort was put into this tour as is always put into their Japan tours. They also need to find a different US promoter for next time, that's for damn sure.
-I'd say a majority of people who attended this tour were first-timers as they didn't really know what to do during the songs (jumping, shouting, etc.), not including the ones from HONEY, as barely anyone knew what to do for those lol
-HARU 'dedicated' "Sisters" to each city every time. No idea why. I guess we're all like "sisters" to them? lol
-MAMI was the only one to have a complete outfit change. She wore that cropped checkered hoodie/striped jeggings combo for the NY show only and then wore the fishnet/wide pants combo for the rest of the stops.
-They wore their stage outfits for the first 3 M&Gs but switched to doing them in their casual outfits for the last 3.
