During these past few days,
I've been looking up things on racism
By watching TV and reading online news,
And I exchanged opinions with people around me.
There are all kinds of people
Among our listeners as well.
Every time we go on a world tour,
We can feel the reason why we continue playing music
By seeing the sight of being able to overcome differences
In race, culture, and religion
And become one with music,
And we had hoped
That it could make this world a better place.
There are demonstrations being held in the US
Protesting against racism,
And that news is also being reported in Japan every day.
Many people are discriminated against.
There might be people who live in Japan
And to whom these incidents seem to be things
That happen in some far away country,
But that's not the case at all.
A little while ago
There was something
That left an impression on me...
When we went to play a show in a country
Where few Japanese people live
And were walking around with an interpreter,
People passing by would point to me
While saying, "Yellow smokestack."
I didn't understand it
Since that was a localized word,
But the interpreter apologized to me.
It was a shocking experience for me.
I want to know about, stand up to,
And change things,
From small, unconscious discrimination
To ongoing racism.
I want everyone to all think things over once more
And be on the same page.
I too want to do some soul-searching
And continue thinking about it.

この数日、
テレビやネットニュースを見て
自分なりに人種差別について
調べたり考えたり、
身近な人と意見交換したりしていました。
私たちのリスナーにも
いろんな人種の方がいます。
ワールドツアーをする度に、
人種や文化、
宗教の違いを飛び越えて
音楽でひとつになれている光景を見て
自分が音楽を続ける理由を感じられたり、
もっと良い世界に変えられるんじゃないかと
希望を持てたりしてきました。
今、日本でも連日報道されているように
アメリカでは人種差別に
抗議するデモが行われています。
差別に苦しんでいる人がたくさんいます。
日本に住んでいると、
遠い国で起こってる出来事に思える人も
いるのかもしれないけれど、
全然そんなことはないです。
少し前の話なんだけど、
すごく自分のなかで
印象に残っている出来事があって...
日本人が殆どいない国に
ライブしに行ったときに、
通訳さんと一緒に街を歩いていたら、
すれ違った人が私を指差しながら
「黄色い煙突」と言ってきたことがありました。
現地の言葉だったから
自分は理解できていなかったんだけど、
通訳さんが私に謝ってきて、
自分のなかでは衝撃的な体験でした。
無意識の中にある小さな差別から
今も続いている人種差別まで、
それぞれが知って、向き合って、
変えていきたいです。
今一度全員で考えて、
それぞれの考えを持って欲しいです。
私も自分なりに向き合って、
考え続けていきたいと思います。

*Unsure what the "yellow smokestack" (黄色い煙突; kiiroi entotsu) thing is exactly about as there are no real sources to be found on Google. The only thing that is clear, based on what RINA said, is that it's a derogatory term used against Asians.
