I would also like to add that in the past, I was also experiencing that lag ~mc mentioned. It was only slight but the new layout makes browsing the forums much more easier! (it wasn't even hard in the first place, of course!)

Oh I forgot to mention that the forum icons are now clickable to go the inside of the category, another new feature of this layout.

if you're not logged in, you can't view any forums and are sent immediately to the login/register page. it used to be a little different where you could view some stuff, but not everything.

not sure if this is intentional, but it's probably kind of a turnoff to people that are just passing by.

OH! I forgot about this, I always turn it off during maintenance since guest can see the whole layout instead of the maintenance page. I turned it back now, thanks for pointing it out.

I knew I was forgetting something.
