As it said on the title, this is a thread for your favorite J-musicians. From those many bands in Japan, there's few musicians that might caught your attention personally, technically, etc.You may put video to show your favorite musician. I'll start with mine..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Favorite Drummer: Akira Jimbo of Casiopea, and Rina Suzuki of SCANDAL.
Favorite Bassist: Tetsuo Sakurai of Casiopea, and Tomomi Ogawa of SCANDAL.
~Jimsaku(Akira Jimbo&Tetsuo Sakurai)-Funky Punch~

Casiopea is the first Japanese band I knew when I was young..I knew both of them since Casiopea's 'Soundgraphy' album. Both of them stayed in Casiopea until 1989. Then, they formed Jimsaku after they out from the band.
Favorite Guitarist:Tak Matsumoto of B'z, Junko Sugawara (session guitarist, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]),and Mami Sasazaki of SCANDAL.
~Junko with Lady Angel 107 - Evil Angels~
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Junko is known as a session guitarist for many Japanese artist in recording session or live concert. I knew about her when she's supporting Utada Hikaru's band in Wildlife's concert 2010.
~B'z - Konya Tsuki No Mieru Oka Ni (live)~
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Under Steve Vai recommendation, B'z~that consist of Tak Matsumoto and Koshi Inaba~is the first Asian band that have their handprints and signatures put up in the Hollywood's RockWalk.
Favorite Vocalist:Koshi Inaba of B'z & Ono Masatoshi.
Ono is the soloist known with his ballad rock song, "You're The Only". Currently vocalist of Galneryus.
~Ono Masatoshi - You're the Only (live acoustic in Sapporo club)~

My favourite Bassist is Minei Makkatsu ((mACKAz) ex. HaMC)
There's not many video's of him playing solo, but I especially like his solo from Sakura-Con 2010 (Not on Youtube)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

My favourite Guitarist is Syu (of Galneryus)
This video alone speaks for itself, along with every Galneryus track.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

My favourite Vocalist is MAH (SiM (Silence is Mine))
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I can't honestly say there's any drummers that stand out to me more than others, so I can't say I have a favourite.

Favorite bassist
Spoiler:
Uehara Futoshi "Ue-chan" - the popping and slapping he does is pretty cool and his bass playing is very diverse.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Maximum the Hormone - Minoreba Rock

Favorite vocalist
Spoiler:
Takahiro Morita - his vocals are amazing. He has a raspy tone and a very clean tone, and his vocal range is pretty big.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
One Ok Rock - Kimishidai Ressha

Favorite pianist
Spoiler:
Joe Hisaishi - he has a very distinct sound. He does most of the soundtracks for Studio Ghibli films. I like his simple and modern sounding style.

Joe Hisaishi - Summer

Favorite guitarist
Spoiler:
Kensuke Kita because I really like the sound of his guitar riffs, even though they are really simple. Without him in the band, I think Asian Kung-fu Generation would sound very bland.
