Breaking Bad (a TV series that was filmed in my city and around my neighborhood) - It has become super popular in the US.

It's a story about a middle-aged man/ chemistry teacher, who gets cancer and needs money quick, so he befriends one of his drug-dealing students and starts making and distributing "the best meth". Even though his cancer goes away, he continues this dangerous business and a series of crazy events unfold.

Favorite actors in the series:
Bryan Cranston (plays the main character - Mr. White/ Walter White/ Heisenberg)
Aaron Paul (Supporting actor - Jesse Pinkman)
Jonathan Banks (Supporting actor - Mike Ehrmantraut)

Shogun was too awesome! I think I've seen the first one like 5 times (which is a lot, considering how long it is )

I am really happy other members here are old enough to remember "Shogun" the TV series.
It started my interest in Japan and Japanese culture way back in 1980 and I have it on DVD.
I highly recommend it to anyone as it was based on real characters.
William Adams was an English sailor shipwrecked in Japan in 1600 who not only survived
but became a samurai and hatamoto to Lord Ieyasu Tokugawa ( the first Shogun )

It will teach you a lot about Japanese culture and history and a little Japanese.
I fell in love with Yoko Shimada who played Lady Toda Buntaro ( Mariko )
but we will not go into that !

Toshiro Mifune was also superb as Lord Yoshi Toranga ( Ieyasu Tokugawa )

I forgot to add this best TV show ever..
It was aired when I was kid, and all of my family would gather in front of TV to watch it..
Heck! How could I forgot this one? ..It's Oshin !!
And my favorite actress would be Yuuko Tanaka, who played the role of teenage Oshin.
This series has a nice and encouraging story ever..
