Can't say enough how happy I am with the whole experience. :) Whenever I listen to an artist/band a lot I always want to 'give back' somehow, show my support, express thanks, contribute in some way, etc. Most of the time the best you can do is keep buying their stuff and send a fan letter in and maybe it gets read, maybe not, who knows. Being able to sit at a table with Scandal and just tell them I had a great time at their show and thank you was really great. Add to that all the support we were able to show and knowing it made a difference to them is just awesome. :)

I was in the 2nd to last group to go in for the 1st M&G and I gave each member the same Ramones record http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=550357 because I thought they must like the Ramones. But I almost didn't do it after hearing their current favorite artists. The Jonas Brothers? I actually took the records back to my car but then retrieved them when I thought I should at least give one to Mami since she likes the Strokes. I ended up bringing all of the records because of the bring candy for everyone etiquette.

When I handed out the records Scandal were checking them out ooh-ing and ah-ing and even their roadie/guardian, who was sitting right next to Haruna, seemed impressed as he leaned in for a closer look and said "vintage." They all said thank you in English. I was surprised by Haruna's reaction given her favorite artists. I was pretty happy that they seemed genuinely awestruck and appreciative so I didn’t notice that Mami had said something until the translator started talking but I was only half listening. Mami said something like the Ramones were an inspiration early on in their careers. Yeah it’s true, Mami won’t let you down She always gives the most thoughtful answers. Haruna is interesting because she has the most girlie music tastes but she seems to have the most attitude and her favorite song to play, Space Ranger, is their most punky number.

So I thought maybe the Ramones records might have inspired Scandal to choose to enter onstage with Rock n Roll High School. Way cool if it did or maybe they were going to do it anyway or maybe it’s all up to the roadie to pick the music. Maybe I inspired him. Funny that they were given Sum41and the Ramones, two bands that inspired them in their early kind of punk rock days And here they’re worried that their fans will be turned off by the fast tempo of their new single.

BTW thanks noodles for clarifying that I’m not crazy because I also heard Mami say Ernie Ball yellow package instead of clear package. Also I’d just like to add that Rina said during the 1st panel that she picked up the drums out of necessity because they needed a drummer not because it was her choice. But eventually she realized that drums suited her personality anyway.

I was at LAX, but I wasn't in that photo... HA HA! In any given shot, I stay in the background because of my demeanor... Didn't work out too good in this particular situation though... AGGH!!!

+1. Work is definitely sucking, even though it's just a three-day week for me. The blog posts were awesome, and congrats to the SH members in the photo! I'm starting to regret choosing the Miku concert over LAX, especially since that seemed to be the only place photos of the band were possible. .fustrated.

I totally second the following concert to concert deal. Gonna start saving up for their next US tour, or an extended trip to Japan for a show there, which ever seems likely first.

Hopefully when I decide to study abroad (probably another 2-3 years), they'll still be around. I'm thinking of either studying in Japan [or somewhere in Europe]...It'll set me back a year but oh well. xD I've spoken to most of my teachers and they all seem to regret not studying abroad when they were still "young". o_o

To everyone else, thanks for your inputs about your experiences. was really fun reading about what went through everyone else's mind while they were there. If I wasn't a lame-o that doesn't type up long blog entries or passages, I may have done one myself. OTL.
