I personally don't know the reason but it makes sense, though. FEEDBACK is SCANDAL's fashion range and they want to make it distinct from the band's range of merch. Not every fan of the band are necessarily a fan of the FEEDBACK items, and vice versa.

"More convenient" is no biggie either. If you are a fan of both, go to both stores to get what you want.

Yes, two different stores. Just FEEDBACK stuff will be sold on this new store. SCANDAL stuff will continue to be sold on ROOFTOP ONLINE STORE. Perhaps it's easier for them to outsource FEEDBACK sales operations to another company.

The two stores thing annoys me too. It certainly is less than ideal to have to shop on two different sites to get both FEEDBACK items and SCANDAL merch, especially for overseas fans. Not only do you have to spend $10 USD more on domestic shipping, but you also have to pay your forwarding service a consolidation fee when having your packages shipped out to you. Yeah, it's only a matter of about $20 USD total, but that's $20 you'd be saving by only needing to use one store.

Yes, they've always called FEEDBACK their "apparel brand" designed by the band, but up until now they had always sold FEEDBACK stuff on the same online store as their band merch.

As always, we can speculate all we want on why they've separated the stores, but I don't think we'll ever know the exact reasons why. The band itself has not addressed them and likely never will (they have an absolutely lousy track record when it comes to divulging the reasons why they do the things they do lol).

I guess the two store concept doesn't bother me as when I look at my shopping history with them it's either one or the other. The times I buy stuff from either store at a time is more often then buying stuff from both stores at the same time.

I still have to pay TENSO consolidation fees anyway as I tend to have purchases from other Japanese online vendors anyway. Hence, depends on the individual's purchasing pattern - to everyone their own.

Because the stores used to be together, I remember once trying to buy something from Store A and then ending up buying from Store B too, just cos I feel like it'd make the domestic shipping more worth it (iirc it was a T-shirt from each store). Also the new shop is on thebase.in the platform charge shop on payment 3.6% + ¥40 on sales and then 3% on top for service fees, so I would expect some price bumps on the newer items.

Sorry seems paypal depends on the shop setting and is not enabled for the new Feedback shop.

I haven’t but one reason for a credit card not being accepted is the card itself. Perhaps you can call the credit card people to enable overseas purchases? If you already have done so, then I can’t think of another reason. Good luck!

Hi,
i frequently bought from their previous site and my credit card allows oversea purchase, but the issue is the website, do not allow credit cards issues outside japan its pretty common among Japanese sites.
the bottom link is the company policy for credit card payment, from google translate it clearly stated overseas credit cards are not allowed.

If anyone has a workaround or purchaser services do let me know.

Yes it seems strange how they lost the credit cards they accept but not ones issued in other countries, how about Bank Debit cards ?

My Barclays Debit card can be used abroad but they charge me for converting the payment into Japanese yen.

ah sorry seems they did remove paypal for Feedback's shop option. (update my comment above)

the clearing system for overseas and japan credit cards are different is why overseas cards are sometimes not accepted even at physical stores, indeed it seems thebase.in does not have clearing for overseas card I'm afraid, which is a shame.

interesting enough, send of 2019 when thebase.in introduced paypal the idea was to allow shops to sell to overseas, so stores that do sell to overseas customers have enabled paypal. grrr

Bottom line is that overseas fans cannot purchase items using their own overseas-issued credit cards since the store cannot process them.

So like what kudo_maharizu said, you're going to have to use a proxy service such as From Japan or CD Japan's proxy service purchase it for you on your behalf.
