I was worried it was wasabi at first as I hate that but it is coriander...thats OK

To be honest I never tried fresh coriander leaves as a salad. Usually dried seeds as seasoning. Got to ask one of my  sisters (She is tremendous gardener in her free time) to grow me some. Then I will know if I am Team Tomo or Team Mami on this
And from Thai cuisine I can eat Tom Yum soup everyday. Esp. version with a little a bit of coconut milk and more peppers :D

Bleh.

If I ever eat dinner with Mami, she can have my cilantro.

To me, it tastes like soap.

I was told not to eat too much cilantro since I was a kid. Even though you washed it thoroughly, it is not hygienic as other vegetable. Beware Mami.

TOMOMI is the one in the picture with MAMI, and she also tweeted other pictures of MAMI with cilantro. RINA is nowhere in sight, nor has she posted any pictures of MAMI~

If MAMI says she likes cilantro and took that many pictures with cilantro, I'm pretty sure she actually does like cilantro. And I'm sure she would rather eat Thai food than a burger in Thailand. :P

Fair enough but there is a picture online of Tomomi taking a picture of Mami eating it plus in that picture she has a plate full in each hand and some in her mouth, does anyone like it that much

The link doesn't work, but I'm assuming it's this one, which can also be found in our gallery. Never said that I believed she actually ate the entire two plates of cilantro, but I'm sure she did eat quite a bit. From what you initially said, it sounded like you didn't believe that she likes cilantro in the first place.

Well we call it coriander in England  from the Latin  Coriandrum sativum but I did not mean to give anyone the impression Mami did not really like it, I was just being silly as usual.

We Filipinos usually include a sprinkle of chopped cilantro or coriander in our food.

Yes my wife is Indian and they too use it a lot in their cooking but they call it dhania.

Coriander and Cumin. Two seasonings my dad detests, but I love. Thai & Indian food seem to use both a fair bit.
Although I agree, I've only ever seen fresh coriander as a garnish, didn't realise people ate it beyond that, awesome XD


...speaking of Thai, a nice chicken peanut sauce from the cart down the road sounds good for lunch... .toj.

Being from the southwest of the United States, I have cooked entire meals where every dish has cilantro.  Those two plates Mami had would fall short of the necessary amounts needed.  There's simply no way to make a proper set of tacos, borracho beans, and salsa without cilantro.  I wonder if she had that variety while in California or Mexico.

No one's gonna mention how adorable Dobon dobondo is?
