@tony - I agree with you on Amina too. She wanted to join AKB because being in AKB was her dream and she's learned pretty much all AKB's dances. I hope goes up in ranks this year.

i agree with you both about amina and nattsumii. they're both humble, deserving, and gorgeous girls who should be more popular. it may be too late for nattsumii, but i believe that amina is one of the most deserving girls for the spotlight, and i hope things take a positive turn for her.

on a more negative side, it seems that many of the girls who didn't apply for this year's senbatsu are either graduating soon or announcing their graduation. chris, one of my oshimen, was one of the girls that didn't apply, and i'm hoping that she won't be leaving next.

@tony - Yeah, I did see it. I was super surprised. I was like WHAT!!!!??? It's pretty crazy that Sasshi goes up in ranks every year. I wasn't really expecting her to be at #1 in the preliminariess though.
I'm pretty sure things will change though, because I didn't even vote until the day of the preliminaries, and I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people. Also the wotas will probably do something to get some of those girls higher in ranks. People are even starting to pool in money to buy several theater version CDs so they can get extra votes.

I actually don't really care who's center as long as Kami 7 (minus Acchan and plus Yukirin) are in senbatsu. It would be kinda weird if Takamina, Kojipa, and Miichan were in undergirls.....but then again, they're saying that it is a new generation of AKB, and a lot of the later gens and other 48 family members are ranking up.
Anyway, I'll be looking forward to the final results.

I just downloaded Sayonara Crawl from Amazon Japan. Thing is there's three versions. Type A, Type B and Type K. Maybe this is a silly question but do A,B and K represent the teams?

Yes, they have different coupling songs for each version.
Version A for Team A's song (Ikiru Koto)
Version K for Team K's song (How come?)
and Version B for Team B's song (Romance Kenjuu)

Therefore named as version A,K,B instead of the A/B/C which other artists use.

The also had SDN48 (Saturday Night 48), but they disbanded and then no one really knows what happened to TPE48 (Taipei 48) and OJS48 (Ojisan 48 - group of retired police officers) they also have an official rival group Nogizaka46

from friends then I read about that guy who bought 4000 votes for Anna Iriyama...sigh

I really want Miichan to do better than her 14th last year.

When the preliminary results came out with Sasshi number I was like [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I knew she was going to get a high position, but no idea it would be 1st! Since Yuuko is my oshi, I was kinda sad about her being in 3rd. But even she is not really caring about the ranking this year, just like she said, it's a festival! Of course that if she gets 1st again I'll be extremely happy, but I love Sasshi too, and I think it would be AWESOME to see her being 1st! But I'd say I'm more excited with the newer girls that are going to be ranked, mainly from HKT and old team 4. But well, this was just the preliminary ones. It will probably change a lot! Just some more days, I can't wait!

This is my prediction for this year (top 16) + reasons:
1 - Yuko - AKB's Ace
2 - Mayuyu - AKB's next gen Ace
3 - Sasshi - She's has gained a lot of attention and popularity after transferring to HKT and she was at the top in the prelims.
4 - Mariko - started a fashion line Ricori and twitter queen of AKB
5 - Yukirin - released 2 solo performance DVDs
6 - Takamina - soukantoku and solo
7 - Tomochin - I think her fans will giver her a little boost because it's her last sousenkyo
8- Rena - new leader of Team E and the other Ace in SKE
9 - Kojiharu - being on Pon! and being a model for Peach John and being Megutan
10 - Jurina - strong and energetic Ace of SKE
11 - Paruru - She had a lot of attention this year, especially after winning the Janken tournament and having that push.
12 - Sae-chan - Shanghai and her song got into 2nd place during Request Hour
13 - Sayanee -
14 - Yuihan - More popularity since being in NMB and has her own show about Kansai
15 - Milky or Kitarie - Where there is a Sayanee, Milky is not far behind, and Kitarie seemed to get more popular from being in dramas and being with SKE.
16 - Akicha or Miichan- Jakarta is voting for her, making her go up one from the undergirls center and
Miichan kinda fell off of the radar after he got moved to KKS but she has great fans that will try not to let her down.

I came up with this based on looking at last year's winners and this years preliminaries, as well as what I have seen in the 48 group since last sousenkyo. ...but really, I have no idea...

I agree with a lot of what you say, I think 1st will be a very close battle between Yuko and Mayuyu.

If Sasshi can do so well after her scandal I think Miichan's fans will still support her...I have.
She was 14th last year so if she can just get a tiny bit higher it will make me happy as it will show people have forgiven her.
I think Akicha will do better than you say, she is beautiful and has a great personality and the fans are really happy she is back in AKB.

I would also like Jurina to do well, many fans dont like her and call her Miss.Bossy Boots and I have to admit she has huge determination but she is also a bag of nerves and tries so hard.
Then Yukirin, I bought the DVD of her solo concert and she was amazing and we all know how beautiful she is !

I will just wait and see !

Hello, just got a chance on bumping on this thread~

I knew AKB48 before.. 1st song I heard from them was "Heavy Rotation"

so after that.. I didn't have a chance on listening to their other songs.. and just happened last month.. I don't know what came up to my mind and check their latest single atm.. "Sayonara Crawl" and didn't expect that I'll end up liking it and so does the coupling songs of the single.. no wonder that single was Top 1 on the Oricon Charts XD

and through that I end up searching and listening to their songs as of now >.<
and I really admit.. at 1st I really had a hard time on knowing every member.. (too many)

I'm really trying my best to know them all XD
and the 1st member I knew back then was Mayuyu because I already knew her back in SCANDAL's interview in the GRF .wow.

and then continuously knowing them one by one XD
as of now I have 6 members as my faves: Yukirin, Mayuyu, Tomochin, Kojiharu, Yuko and Paruru

and somehow I think there will be more members to be added XD
as of now I'm really a big fan of Yukirin .love.

as of now that's all I can say.. looking forward for more :3
