I agree with Belz. Moreover, it can take more than a month for packages to arrive in japan from all over the world... So it will be kinda problematic to calculate the deadline.

As far as I understood, this post (and that letter, (I guess it is kind of banner, and not letter at all)) has nothing to do with our fan-letter-project.

Gifts are a very personal thing and I do not know what kind of gift a young Japanese girl would like !

Neither can I. But google translation can give you at least a vague idea of what it says.

The messages aren't ours. At the gig there was a big banner on which Scandal had collected messages from fans at other shows to the people of Sendai after the earthquake. That's what was in Rina's blog entry. There's nothing about our letters. Again, we can only hope they got and enjoyed them.

And I wasn't thinking buying gifts, more making something more than a letter. And you know when the next deadline is, its before their next Sendai show in the autumn. But yes, these are details we need to discuss.

My thoughts exactly. Aside from a few random facts I've read like Haruna loves her iPod and Michael Jackson, or that Mami loves playing on her Nintendo DS, I personally have no idea what they would want. I suppose we could all try to find things in our respective countries that they might not be able to get easily like regional snacks or something, but food's going to be hard to ship around and it's possible they wouldn't like some of the stuff we send them because of differences in taste. It sounds fun, and I'm willing to try something for that, but it's going to be difficult.

Again, I'm not thinking of buying things as gifts. What I mean is to make something' a picture, a comic, a CD of your favorite songs that aren't Scandal or local music, write them a song, a story, etc.

I'll take the discussion so far as a brainstorm session, so I'll just voice out what I thought could be a possible gift; it's just an idea, I'm not even thinking if it'll work, so please just read with a pinch of salt.

Regarding making of the gift, maybe ppl of SH could all do a simple video of yourself saying something to SCANDAL, and someone will have to stitch them or video edit them into a short clip to present to SCANDAL. Of course, with so many ppl in SH, not everyone will get the screen time, but than again, it depends on ultimately who and how many volunteer their own videos into the project. Or something along this line.

So, either we buy/create gifts and send to to mrmonkey or send money to him for him to buy the gifts for us, hehe..

How about for the group project, we make a collage of their faces (or a poster of them 4) using different pictures we have collected...although we might seem like stalkers like that.

Yeah, think about it. Do you really want to someone to send you lots of pictures of yourself? I wouldn't. Far better gift to get pictures, video clips and messages of your fans.

I think I got a couple of late letters, plus my own, makes it 143 at the end.

Well, if we grow 43% like this every year... that means that in 2025 we should be able to send them 21382 letters !!!

Ah, well then...Maybe later members by country can get together and make a video clip message for SCANDAL. We need to plan this later...XD

Also, by 2025, a lot of us would be going to Japan to see SCANDAL, so mrmonkey wont be alone in doing that.

like comic or music cover, can be more convincing.

but it doesn't necessary has to be something with commonly regarded "art".

Those can be even simple words hand written e.g.
"You know, I hated books and newspapers, but looking how You,
Rina and Tomomi are fascinated about it, have it everyday,
... I reconsidered it ... and You know ... I'm studying to be journalist."

Could do something like they did on YUI-Lover,
Make a CD of cover songs of SCANDAL performed by us, then gift it to them.
It takes a lot of effort, but I think SCANDAL will appreciate it, and will notice our efforts.

Just putting the idea out there.
