I've gone through various phases throughout the years, but almost all of them were around some kind of rock. Classic rock, metal, punk, indie rock... all phases I went through at one time. And some bands I used to like have kind of fallen off my radar, but what's left is an eclectic mix, though it's almost all rock of some kind. Mostly western bands.

I do occasionally listen to full-on electronic music, mostly trance. But I have to be in the right mood.

I also listen to some other Japanese music, but not just random j-pop and not even much j-rock. My second favorite Japanese band after Scandal are Boom Boom Satellites. Before Scandal, I actually used to like Puffy (still kinda do) but I realized after Scandal's first album that they are way closer to the kind of thing I like, and the kind of band I had always secretly wished Puffy was.

I enjoy any kind of music except rap and hip hop, that does not do anything for me
but I have nothing against it.

I listen to hard rock / metal. I started to listen that kind of music very young (11 years old). My mom bought albums of Nickelback & Linkin Park and I started to listen it. Few months later, I saw a music video of Marilyn Manson on TV (Mobscene) and enjoyed it (at 11 !! haha). After that, I discovered other bands like Korn by skateboarder's friends (yep I was a skaterboarder). But I stopped listen to those bands at 16. From that moment, I focused on the melody instead of the "heavy sound".

So now, in hard rock I really like Halestorm and I still like Nickelback. In metal, I don't like guttural voice so I don't listen that kind of metal (and to be accurate, guttural voice it's more in death metal I think). My favorite metal bands are Metallica, Godsmack and Rammstein. Six months ago, I discovered symphonic metal with a band called Nightwish, and now I'm a big fan.

and with SH, I also discovered Silent Siren. By Ceej, I discovered Maon Kurosaki, I also fell in love hehe. One week ago, with the Rock n Roll Widow live of Scandal, I saw Miwa, and now I like her music.

to finish my little story haha, I also now enjoy K-pop with SNSD (thanks to SugarCube ).

I usually listen to heavy metal, rock(all types), rap(gloc9 for filipinos)......

Well, actually I don't have any special type of music......as long as it's interest me, I'll listen it.....

When I am happy or hyped - Jpop/Jrock
when i feel like dancing - kpop, but selected, only SNSD ^^

What i usually play are : rock ,hard rock,pop,RnB and screamo.

A little of everything. I just take a look at each genre, choose and listen to whatever piques my interest and whatever I feel like listening to. Basically anything goes, I don't really pick anything for as long as I don't find the song too annoying to hear like repetitive lyrics or too much mixing. I like to be diversified, I don't stick on one genre at all but of course there are few genres I favor listening to. Few of these are Progressive Rock/Metal, Jazz, Blues and Rock basically genres that can help improve the instrumental skills. A little bit of R&B for vocals but I am a bit picky on this genre, I don't listen to R&B with Hip-hop or Rap. And lastly Post-Hardcore on occasion, if and only if I feel like it. 

I mainly use an online radio service called Pandora when I want to have some "background" music on the computer. So far, I've personalized my own station to have alt.rock, dubstep, glitch hop, electro swing, light jazz/funk, j-rock, daft punk/madeon, some hip-hop, and so-called "Epic" music.

I listen to almost anything as long as they're not in for fame and money rather than creativity. Lately, I've been getting into Progressive Rock/Metal especially under the Djent term.

Most of what I listen to that doesn't fall into Jpop/rock comes under the broad "metal" genre, be it nu-metal, djent, prog or whatever. I try to listen to a bit of everything, but so much western pop is terrible.
 .fustrated. That's why I steer clear of the radio.

What I listen to is more based on how good it is, rather that its genre. I'm pretty into Animals As Leaders right now. If you don't know them, check them out!
