If the band repeatedly organizes a tour for a fan club only, this is extraordinary.

Dunno; they don't disclose info like that. However, I would say that the number of members are in the (lower end of) tens of thousands. I'm guessing this because my membership that I signed up for four years ago has a membership number in the 17,000 range (I also had one before that that I let lapse, and that was in like the 5,000 range). So when you consider all of the accounts that have lapsed and only count the active ones, the lower end of tens of thousands would probably be fairly accurate.

If the band repeatedly organizes a tour for a fan club only, this is extraordinary.

Keep in mind that the venues on their one and only past fan club tour were relatively small. One of the venues then had a capacity of only 250. But, they do seem to be stepping it up this time as all of the venues on this upcoming tour are generally quite a bit bigger and have capacities between 1,000 - 2,400 people.

Is getting a membership when you're overseas still a hassle? I recently found out a guy I know (good friend of a good friend of mine) moved to Japan permanently and I was thinking that maybe I could ask him if he could help me get one, since I may plan a trip to Japan next year to see them again. But like I did with my trip to Mexico, I want to be sure to get some great tickets, take pictures with them and stuff, to make the trip worth it.

Yep. Nothing's changed in that regard, and likely never will. Definitely ask your friend to help you get one.

You may get great tickets and the "stuff" bit - but the photos have always been an overseas tour perk. That's why some Japanese fans actually fly Stateside to get this as they don't get photos with the band in Japan.

Just an observation, for those of you that may want to join MANIA now - the MANIA membership probably meant more in the days when the fan club member numbers were small enough when the perks especially those for gig ticket pre-sales kind of matter (numbering was random but still meant you had a chance for better seats/places in queue).

I was at Osaka last month, and I noticed that almost every other person in line held a yellow Kanshasai MANIA ticket (even the Club ones were of the normal plainly printed white ones), and this was in the ticket numbered 1000+ line to get in. It feels (operative word here) like every one is in MANIA and I wonder how many tickets were actually sold under the other methods (SCANDAL website presale/ticketing company presale/general sale).

I know it's all permutations and probabilities - I once won the lottery for the 300-capacity Duce show in Sapporo, and I know someone who is a MANIA member failing to win a lottery for BEST XMAS for this year. So, to join a club to not get the perks prolly should not deter your decision to join but just something to keep in mind, that is all.

Actually, they did do a M&G lottery for MANIA members on their recent Kanshasai tour where you were able to take a picture with them! On IG you can see a handful of winners' pictures if you look at the posts that the band's tagged in. This was the first time they've ever offered this perk on a Japan tour.

Still, this probably shouldn't be a complete deciding factor to join MANIA since obviously no one knows yet if they'd even continue to offer this in the future.

Since I got pinged about the "print name on the back of card".

Japanese signatures are usually easy to read (so sign or write your name is the same thing), for non Asian countries, we usually scribble our signature and it might not be readable Happy

, so Mania request that people signed their cards, so that for easy initial checking, they can see that who it belongs to. For final check, they can check the name printed on the ticket and your photo ID.

example, Suzuki-san doesn't try and take Tanaka-san's mania card to use etc.
If you ever go Feedback! for Mania only goods this is why they always check on the back to see if your membership card is signed, as names are not printed on the card and they normally don't have the Fan database at the shop. They only use the fan database/laptop at the live for things like Mania lottery/Mania exclusive T-shirt sale.

I wasn't aware of this, as usually I enter the ticket lottery as soon as it opens, I had a friend who entered late and sent me a screenshot today for translation, the lottery had actually ran out for Tokyo first and then Osaka/Nagoya. So of us were probably occupied watching Rina's Instagram live stream, in the live stream she mentioned "I think you guys should better go"

I only know the registration numbers got as far as 7xxx odd, as I don't know anyone with numbers beyond that, also if this is number for each Live venue or the whole draw, its hard to know.

Good luck and fingers crossed for people who enter the draw, the 2nd draw will start on Feb 14th 6PM

My point exactly about being in MANIA like now, and in the future - what happens when the membership numbers increase over the years. Perhaps they should introduce a seniority rule as they do with some clubs.

I decided not to even attempt due to my calendar next year. Perhaps the next MANIA mini-tour, then -whenever that'll be.

Anyways, good luck to anyone who got a number. Hope you win your chance in buying your ticket/s.

They won’t record it - if you think about it, it’s a MANIA membership perk to get to see shows with deep cuts like you see in the list. Getting tix even for us in MANIA looks a tad difficult too as there are more people in the fan club these days. So, it won’t be fair to those who got to attend if everyone else gets to see the fan club only shows.
