There are two price groups - Adult and Child. One can receive a discount for their teikiken, known in English as a commuter pass (which can be added onto a PASMO card) from their school or company, but I don't believe that's what she means here. As I said above, it just means she is gonna be responsible and not embarrass herself by forgetting to charge it with more money. db~
Btw, here is a photo of what a PASMO looks like - this is mine, and the commuter pass printed on it was from when I was an exchange student, but I can still use the PASMO itself as a normal chargeable pass today. (if you look closely, you can see how you can customize it with your name and age)
