This new single is surely going to be included in the eleventh album, but I do wonder if Line of Sight will be as well.

Most likely, since the Blu-ray and DVD editions of Line of sight had the same covers/colors.

It'd be odder if they didn't include it. They always include the title tracks of their physically released singles in their albums.

You’re right! It’s kinda weird though, that the first single to a new album would be a Gundam videogame colab. Then again I like Line of Sight lots!! ^^

HARU announced at the end of the anniversary show that "Highlight no Naka de Bokura Zutto" will be out on streaming services at midnight tonight!

Turn out the song was uploaded to Youtube 15 hours ago, so pretty much the same time with the concert.

And wow, since it was written and composed by Mami, and with the title and the description, I was expecting something closer to Ivory, a kind of song with slower and and emotional melody.

But instead, we have a more upbeat, fast and energetic song, probably their most energetic song since COVID, and I really like this sound, kinda makes me want to dance a little bit and somewhat reminds me of Cerematic Blue with its fast paced opening.

And I think Mami sings (or rap?) a small part in the 2nd verse, it's nice to have others also sing their own part in a song. I like songs with multiple vocalists.

Now waiting for the lyrics...

Someone messed with my radio dial and switched it from rock to adult contemporary. If this was the only Scandal song I'd ever heard, I probably wouldn't look for more, but considered in the context of their entire body of work, it makes sense, and it's a logical progression. The umbrella ella ella type hook and the rapid rap type bit in the middle are just enough to work without sounding like they're trying too hard to be hooks. Like, they don't telegraph something like "this is the part you sing along to".
If you put this song in a set with One More Time, Love Me Do and Tonight you could get a real "summer in the park" type vibe going, but everyone would be wearing Polo and Lacoste shirts, holding their kids up so they can see better. It would not be a towel twirling crowd. Is this just inevitable?
Maybe in the future Scandal could do two shows a night; an early show with songs like the ones mentioned above, and a late show full of AMDKJ type songs. And a matinee show with all Tomomi songs, lol.
Rest assured I will amend this post after more listens. (since I always do)

So, no 17th Anniversary Concert for the DVD/Blu-ray bonus. Sad, wonder if it's related to the license for Time Machine ni Onegai or because they're saving it for a separate release.

Even if they did fully film the anniversary concert, I think the biggest hurdle would be not being able to get all of the footage ready to go in time. They usually have to have the video they want to put on a physical release ready to go a few months in advance. A little more than a month is not enough time to do that.

Ah, that makes sense. The concert only had 10 songs and with what they've been releasing on Tiktok the past few days, so I thought it was ready, but yeah, they will need time to prepare before starting the marketing.

But I wouldn't be surprised if this bonus has them talk about past performances, including this concert with the footage performance of Highlight no Naka de Bokura Zutto.

After listening to Candy couple of times.  I think it a better song than Highlight no Naka de Bokura Zutto.

I really like the first three seconds. That could have gone in a really interesting direction, but I'm not sure where, lol. I'm looking forward to reading a translation of the lyrics. I think they might bring some focus to the way the song sounds. It took some time for me to get used to that Captain and Tennille (Muskrat Love) keyboard sound, that dripping water thing in the middle. For me, since Scandal is a guitar-based band, that could have been done on electric guitar, and maybe should have been. But whatever, right?
If you like the chorus, don't listen to Vanity Faire doing "Hitchin' a Ride" 'cause it's pretty similar. But hey, I liked it then, and I like it a LOT now. I do wish they'd backed off on the compression, especially on the acoustic guitar.
It's interesting to follow these guys on their musical journey, and I don't want them to get to the point where they resent picking up guitars and setting the amps to 11, but if this is the kind of stuff they like doing right now, I'm OK with that.

It such a stunning video, Scandal look great in their Black Suits.  I just feel that the song does not match with the video.  It would great if they went on Tour wearing the Suits.
