Haruna's voice sounds different. Has anyone else noticed that? If so, what happened???
I hope nothings wrong with her throat, that would be terrible, she has such a beautiful voice. I love you Haruna-chan!<3 .shy.

This is actually old news, if you search the forums we have mentioned it all over the place since at least middle of last year. Since you are new to the forum I will indulge you with a reply.

No one knows what REALLY happened but since at least the middle of last year she's had problems with her vocal chords. It was SO bad at one point she could not sing properly at all.

But no worries she is getting better. Unfortunately, you have no access to the media section yet but if you had you will see much jubilation and relief at her singing in the BOKUON live performance thread. Go and search on YT you will see.

She has gotten better and we all hope that she keeps getting better.

yes, she strained it. But fortunately her voice is getting better, when i listen to harukaze her voice sounded like in love survive. I think it's a sign of recovery 'cause that's the single when we heard her voice changed

It's improving now in 2012, but I think the change is permanent.... it seems her sing style has change especially her timing in breathing as evident in DOLL especially in the last part "I want to be your Love". It seems she's really having a hard time in that part.

Hopefully she will be 100% in their Budokan Live

I'm not sure if it is worth mentioning, sometime last year she did mention in her blog that she mistook the advice given by a vocal trainer and had been doing sit-ups as a way to train, which turned out to be different from what the trainer had in mind.

I think I remember one old blog a long time back talking about changing from one vocal trainer to another. I always wonder if the change was related to her vocal troubles in some way.

I heard that bad vocal trainers can permanently damage your voice and vocal skills. To be honest there were times when Haruna really sounded horrible and couldn't sing a note right. She seems much better now but it's somehow obvious how hard she tries and how much efforts puts in this. Personally I think she should she take it down because overstraining her voice is only gonna make it worse.

But it's been more than 8 months when I keep wondering, why don't they give more vocals to Tomomi. She is always so perfect when it's about pitch.

Yeah...everybody who watched them from Haruka single to today will notice the changes, especially during lives. But to give you an honest answer, Haruna's voice is much better than their previous lives.

@Ronrinesu: If you were to check Love Survive and Baby Action you will notice that Tomomi has more parts in most of the songs compared to their previous albums. I actually called Baby Action and Love Survive the TOMOMI SINGLE and TOMOMI ALBUM.

Thanks so much all. I was going back to many of Scandals earlier songs which are my favorites, when I noticed how much more deeper and smokier her voice sounds now. I love koi moiyo and sl magic. Not sure if she can sing them anymore with her new vocal range.

Well you can't expect someone to sound the same from 17 till 23 the voice is obviously going to change some how and in Haruna's case it deeper and smokier as you said .clap. which would make her even more unique wouldn't it?

True BleachnLife. Then again usually its during puberty our voice changes. If we're talking about naturally and not what others are saying where she strained her voice. Ill have to say I still enjoy all their songs and just heard shunkan sentimental live and it was great.

i pretty much agree with alrick13 and bleachnlife. her voice has changed and im pretty sure its permanent. also its actually much more gradual than people think and didnt just happen over night. listening to all the records and singles in order you can hear it change. even from love survive to harukaze theres a change. its not uncommon for it to happen, for example Zone singing secret base. the vocals then and now are quite different (much deeper).

in terms of her live singing, like what everyone else said shes getting better/recovering. i think overall she should change her singing style to fit how her voice evolved. her singing sounded great when they performed Rock and Roll Widow and Yumemiru Shoujo ja Irarenai. kind of a more rock sounding vocals too (which im in favor for).

When Zone sand secret base they were 13/14 and now they are 20+. It's normal that their voice change because of puberty. But after 16-17 years old girls voices usually don't change.

I just hope I will see her having fun while singing on stage again.

i hope her voice change isnt permanent. I prefer her deep strong voice. Everyone of u might notice that her voice has changed over the years. Her voice from indie days wasnt so deep but strong
then in the 1st live dvd her voice there was really2 deep and now her voice has become weak and husky

I agree that Haru's voice change is permanent. She's aging (us too) and it's natural that her voice will change. Listen to the woman they sang with in Yumemiru Shoujo ja Irarenai, her voice is so much different when she's young. But it's a fact that her voice is strained these past months and I'm really glad she's recovering a bit now. Maybe a rest after Budokan will heal her up.

I'm sure it will gradually become slightly stronger and she pretty much fine now. Your not going to expect Haru sounding like she did in 2010 or earlier than that...

i really think that her voice changed since her their first Pride live. but it worsened. i'm happy that her voice is slowly recovering after all that.

After watching the latest videos, I think there really is this permanent change in her voice. Though for me its not something hard to get used to, it still has this HARUNA-ness in it.

True, I've noticed it too that her voice has changed and the way she sings. And yes, there were times that her voice became horrible but she seems fine now. And hey, at least she tried her very best during live in those times that her voice became weak. She's still our HARUNA that we cherish~

i think her voice in TAIYOU SCANDALOUS is a sign that she's regaining her old voice ..but still i love the way she sings in KOI NO KAJITSU ..i miss her old voice ..i admire you HARU-nee

Like it sure will be strange to hear older songs with her new voice, but the same goes for the new songs in reverse. Like I it would be weird to hear LOVE SURVIVE, or HARUKAZE with her old voice!

the sweet teenager voice of haruna san changed,and i think that the new deep voice sounds very good for her,like in the live that the girls had with aikawa nanase san.
i hope she will recovery in a 100 percent really soon
