in order to achieve the best quality of sound, Tomo needs 8x10" of bass cabinet. This ashdown cabinet is consuming 1200 watts of electricity, plus Tomo use dual ashdown ABM amps with each of 500 watts. so its not only in size, but it is also big in power

I think it's probably Mami's - the others in that rack case are all obviously Mami's or Haruna's and they're separated by a space (like they were in the studio). But it's hard to say for sure until we see her playing it, or at least posting about it somewhere. But it doesn't seem to fit in with other guitars she likes (Les Pauls are heavy, for one thing), and the P-90 sound isn't really their thing. Although Haruna always plays with humbuckers, so maybe Mami's just looking for a new sound that complements Haruna without sounding the same.

Anyway I did notice that guitar too but promptly forgot about it - thanks for posting it, otsii!

One other thing I noticed in that video is how worn Haruna's guitar is starting to look, which is great and I hope she lets it happen - it's instant street cred to be playing a guitar you've worn down yourself. I actually first noticed it getting worn on the cover of "Go! Go! Guitar" a while back, but it's progressing further. She has almost no finish left on the left side of her neck pickup cover (it's down to bare metal), and both covers are completely scratched up. The guitar itself looks like it has a few body dings now that are hard to see because of the sparkle finish, but they seem consistent whenever I see pics or video of the guitar recently.

Yes, Tomo's silver bass is not new. She debuted it for the Pride PV(~2011). It was the next bass she bought after her signature red one!

I love mami's strat and speedster. But then this new LP P90 makes me wandering about what kind of music will they offer in next project. Looking forward to it :D

Just something small I'd like to correct. I've seen that some people have been incorrectly saying that TOMOMI's newest Fender bass is black. I guess it's been hard to distinguish its true color since it's always photographed in dark places, but it is actually navy, as you can see in this screenshot from "Ano Hito to SCANDAL!":

Are we talking about two different basses? Has she bought a second Active Deluxe P. Bass with a gold pickguard?

She most definitely has a black one, as seen (in good light) here:



What she's playing there does not have competition stripes, but I don't know when this was filmed. I assumed she had recently added comp. stripes to this bass.

Fender's black paint can look blueish in certain light - I have a nitro-finished black Jazzmaster that does that.

For comparison, this is what the navy version of that same bass looks like:



It's definitely possible she has just bought a second one of these that's nearly identical except for being navy instead of black, but it just seems strange if that's the case, and I was assuming it was the same black one she's had since Osaka Jo Hall.

Well, she first debuted this model bass at this past BEST Xmas and those who were there reported it as being it navy, so that's what I believed it to be colored. Even at OJH it looked navy. I was there and 7 rows from the stage on TOMO's side; it sure looked blue in color to me. But I suppose it is possible that it is black and appears to look blue in certain lights such as stage ones, since that's when it looks the most blue. Though, technically speaking, I guess we won't know 100% for sure what the true color is until TOMO herself confirms it/writes about it in a magazine or such, and it doesn't seem like she has yet.

I doubt it too, but it's not an expensive bass (about $700) so she might have two of them and we all just assumed it was one bass.

Before I read anything about it and just watched that footage in HD, I thought it was black. It appears a little "lighter" black and reflects light differently than Mami's guitar but they are finished differently (and Tomomi's bass is also covered in fingerprints) - Tomomi's bass is finished in polyester whereas Mami's Strat is finished in polyurethane. I do see how you say it looks navy sometimes, but I feel like the navy version of this bass is much lighter and would be harder to mistake for black.

I also went through the latest PV because I knew it was sitting behind Tomomi there and her rack case is lit pretty well. The annoying thing (in terms of this discussion) is that she is usually standing so she just perfectly blocks the view of this bass, but there are a couple of good looks at it from the side. Here's one:



Hopefully you can open the full size to see that better. That definitely looks black to me also, and that's now with the stripes.

So, i think there will be something 'new' in their next songs because that Les Paul. Probably Mami will play few old songs with this in their next live performance.
