An overseas fan sent in a message to SCANDAL via their radio program "Catch up" and asked them to live stream their 15th anniversary concert since foreigners cannot enter Japan at this time. The band says they'll do their best to do so!

I think it would be nice to include "Kimi to Mirai to Kanzen Douki" toward the beginning of the set. Since there will probably be covid restrictions in place, the line about your palm being the transmitter (waving instead of yelling) would be appropriate.
And perhaps somewhere in the encore, "Namida yo Hikare" because everybody will actually be crying, probably, including the audience.

on my side i realised just yesterday that Metronome into Electric Girl would make an awesome live combo towards the end of the main set, because both songs' key is C so it would fit nicely imo

Technically, that song doesn't exist - "Kimi to Mirai to Kanzen Douki" = Fully Synchronized With You and the Future

Sorry, I got that mixed up with "Taiyō to Kimi ga Egaku Story." I'm not sure those two songs would combine well irl, ha ha.

Will they allow Osaka-jo Hall to seat at capacity? Won't there still be COVID restrictions? Thank God, Japan is finally vaxxing up in earnest, so hopefully by the end of August things will be looking up

For a while now, the entire country of Japan has limited crowds to 50% of an indoor venue's capacity, and it'll be like that for the Olympics as well, so that's not likely to change by August.

The full configuration of OJH seats 16,000 so half capacity would be 8,000, but they don't normally use that for concerts. So, the actual capacity for this concert is probably 5,000 or less.

We have this problem in the UK too, theatre's can still only have 50% and the O2 Academy in London where SCANDAL usually play when they come to the UK only holds 800 people and nobody can make a profit from only 400 people

The way things are going, our government has start to say "we just have to live with it".
I think they will allow gigs to go back to near full capacity. Plus by October we should all had our vaccination.

Osaka resident here.

I’ve been reading a lot of speculation and whatnot in this thread so I wanted to give some insight from someone who is in Japan.

The third state of emergency was lifted last month, however we’re now in a “semi-state of emergency” which is called まん防. This means restaurants and izakaya are still operating on limited opening times, and can only serve alcohol until 7pm. 

Regarding concerts and performances, the government is still restricting them to 5,000 maximum. This would explain why Scandal’s concert sold out so quickly. I also had a very hard time getting a ticket (and I LIVE here) due to multiple rounds of lottery sales. Eventually I got one in general sale at 10am.

As for fans attending from overseas, I’m going to say it’ll be nigh on impossible. The government announced recently that for the Olympics, there will only be Japanese residents in the audience. They will also be limited to specific prefectures and will also be limited to around 5,000 to allow for social distancing. This makes me think they won’t open the borders for travellers until next year. 

Others in this thread have mentioned about the vaccine rolling out being huge progress towards allowing travellers in Japan. Honestly, we’re still a LONG way from that point. Vaccine supplies are low and many reservations are being cancelled. There is also rampant scepticism from the majority of Japanese people due to issues they had with vaccines back in the 90’s. Other countries are boasting over 50% population vaccination rates, sadly Japan is only on 19%

While this show might not have a live broadcast, I’m in no doubt they will release a blu-ray/dvd version for fans to enjoy.

Sorry if this post seemed very “doom and gloom” I just wanted to bring some realistic expectations and insight to the situation.

The latest news in the UK is that from July 21st you will not have to wear a mask unless you want to and there will be no more Social Distancing, but many people feel uneasy about that as the number of cases are still rising.

Many of my Japanese students have said, even when they get the vaccine, they’ll still continue to wear masks every day. So if you see audiences over here in Japan with masks on it’ll most likely be their own choice

Yeah I saw the same news which is why I said “might not”. There is still hope, but we’ll see…

Even it is more than a month before Aug 21 I have my money reserved for the Blu-Ray of Invitation live in Osaka Jo Hall. I wonder what they will announce after the encore.
This is very possibly their only live in an arena we will see. Whether their will be a live stream is uncertain. And no one knows what the future hold.

From what I read this morning it sounds like Japan in general and Osaka area are not having much success in deploying the vaccine. A friend got his covid reservation notice yesterday but the nearest place that is taking appointments is Hiroshima, 2hrs by shinkansen, so $400usd round trip to get jabbed. I believe he's in the greater Osaka area as well.

I feel for you all over there and how frustrating it must be to want to do the proper thing and not being able to for a multitude of reasons. That the Olympics are still proceeding must be infuriating to many, I know I'm a bit chuffed that they are pushing forward with them in spite of the situation.

Emergency state was reintroduced in Tokyo until August 22. I hope it doesn't affect the concert and everything will be fine.
