•The episode starts with this. Continuing where they left off, RINA says that to be honest, they had already turned down the Anime Friends offer once, and told the band's company + office that they thought it would be better to take a period of time to save their energy. But even after they turned down the offer, the convention really wanted them to appear, especially since it was the 20th anniversary of the event this year, and the band felt that they needed to accept the offer. Their desire to do what they could prevailed and thus they decided to attend and were really glad they did so.
•Ono then says something inaudible, and RINA says that there was only a max number of 100 tickets [for the M&G on day 1]. HARU says that the fans were so enthusiastic that they went over the scheduled time. RINA talks about the interviews they did and says that she was impressed the interviewers did a lot of research. There were more questions about the band than ones related to anime. They also knew it's their 17th anniversary this year and asked a lot of music-related questions such as what they think is important when writing songs.
•HARU says that on day 2 they started rehearsing early in the morning for the concert. RINA says that the stage was huge and the venue could fit about 10,000 people. They couldn't believe that so many people would show up. She says the rehearsals went well, and after that they had another M&G. HARU says that there were about 200 people this time. After that it was time for them to play their concert. RINA says that they were all ready to go, but the band before them went over by about an hour. MAMI says that that band had gotten so excited that what was supposed to be a one-hour slot turned into a two-hour one. HARU says that it was apparently a local band. MAMI says they couldn't figure out how that band went over by an hour. 15 minutes would be understandable, but an hour is crazy. HARU says that maybe they talked too much. RINA says that SCANDAL just had to be like, "Well, it can't be helped; we'll just do what we can when it's go time."
•When they first went on stage finally, they were really impressed and shocked. MAMI says that she was really moved to know that so many people had been waiting for SCANDAL on the opposite side of the earth, and that she was really glad they went to Brazil. She says that if she wasn't in SCANDAL, she wouldn't have been able to see that view. She was grateful for everything. HARU says that it was like they were able to affirm themselves. RINA says that there have been a lot of times when they've felt saved by that passion. She also mentions how by appearing at this event meant that they weren't able to play at any festivals in Japan which were going on at the same time, which is why they had no choice but to focus on this one event. But they felt like it was the right choice them to make and that they did the right thing.
•HARU says that there were many happenings on stage, including something that had never happened to them before. MAMI says that it was a mess. RINA says that she was terrified. The first song they played was "Line of sight," and at the end of it RINA's in-ear monitors started to make a buzzing noise. She called her roadie over to tell him, and he found out that the mixer coming back to her was no longer receiving power and so they had to turn it off once. Meanwhile she was already playing a song that had a lot of bouncing back and forth. She was wondering why it had to happen during a song like that rather than a simpler one. The noise started happening again, this time cutting off the sound completely, and her in-ears became completely useless. They decided that the only way to play would be to make eye contact with each other while playing, and that's how the rest of the show went on. RINA says that she closed out a song as if going into an MC when there wasn't supposed to be, and the other three realized that something was wrong. MAMI says that she had noticed RINA lost the sequence in the middle of the song, so they all stopped after the second song and tried to figure out where the timing was. HARU says that since they were already on stage, they didn't want the audience to know that something was happening, but they wanted to hear RINA's decision. They all gathered by the drums to talk about the situation and whether or not they could continue the show like that. RINA thought as she played that she might not be able to do it but decided to just go for it and they managed to play their entire set. They say that this made them realize that this was only possible because they've been together for so long.
•HARU also mentions that she and their interpreter decided what words in Brazilian Portuguese to say during the MCs and then practiced what they picked out. She says that in the past she would have been scared to say it after a happening such as the one that just happened to them, but she was just like, "I think I can totally do this." RINA says that they were all panicking but also remained really calm. After their set, RINA's roadie came into their dressing room and shook her hand, saying that she did a great job. RINA says that she's never been told that before. She says it was great that everyone worked together and somehow managed to make the show as good as it could be. HARU says that the roadie posted an Instagram Story about it on the way back to Japan and it made her tear up a bit. RINA says that going to Brazil gave them a new sense of confidence and accomplishment, and gave them a lot of strength. HARU says that the SCANDAL community is amazing and wishes that the Japanese fans would be more proud of it, and that they have comrades all over the world. RINA says that that's why they want to remain as a band that can make their fans feel self-confident and love themselves.
•HARU then reads two messages regarding Brazil. The first one is from someone who attended the con and thanks them for coming, and also asks them if they had a favorite Brazilian food or drink while they were there. The second one is from a fan in Japan who has a SCANDAL fan friend in Brazil who attended the con. They basically say that they've had a lot of fun talking about SCANDAL via social media the past 2 years they've known each other, that they translated their friend's letter to SCANDAL, and that they could tell how excited the friend was to finally see SCANDAL. HARU says that she felt like tearing up while reading that message. To answer the first listener's question, MAMI says that they had gone to eat churrasco twice at the same place. RINA says that they couldn't get enough of it. HARU says they also got to walk around a bit and do some shopping. They say again that they were really glad they went. I'm finally caught up on all the episodes (although another one is coming out in a few hours lol)! Glad I was able to do so before their anniversary
•The episode starts with this.
•HARU then reads that the band will be trying out kendama tricks that staffer Kawai has chosen, and those who do it well receive a point. The person who has the most points at the end wins. The first trick is "tomeken" (spike/pull up in). They watch a video of someone doing the trick and seem impressed. MAMI and HARU comment on how the person was able to do it in one go. TOMO says that it seems that the knees are essential for this trick. HARU asks if they only have one chance to do it. Ono says "Of course." HARU says that it's odd to start this off from the tomeken trick. Ono says that you never know what could happen. TOMO says that starting off with "ozara" (getting the ball into the large cup) would be better instead.
•The band does rock-paper-scissors to determine the order. TOMO loses first, then HARU, which makes MAMI the winner and first up. MAMI goes and is not able to do it. They all laugh and HARU says that you could probably tell from the sound that she wasn't able to do it. HARU goes next and is also not able to do it. TOMO says that that was close. TOMO goes last and is also not able to do it. They laugh and TOMO says that of course the results would be like that. MAMI says that they've only just begun. HARU says that it's possible that someone will be good at the next one. TOMO agrees.
•HARU reads that the next trick is "Nihon isshu" (Around Japan). They wonder what kind of trick it is, and guess that it has to do with moving the ball around the entire stick. They watch a video about it and say that that's different from what they guessed. TOMO laughs and says that it involves the tomeken trick, so this trick would be impossible for them to do. The trick first starts off with "kozara" (small cup). MAMI goes first but is unsure how to make the ball go upwards well. She tries it but apparently fails. HARU does some fake crying sounds and says that MAMI wasn't able to do the kozara trick. HARU goes next and also fails. TOMO asks if she'll get a point if she can do the kozara trick. The staff says that they'll give her 0.1 point. TOMO says that that's better than zero. TOMO tries it and also fails. HARU says that was close. TOMO says that she didn't cushion her knees enough.
•The next trick is "toudai" (lighthouse). They wonder what kind of trick it is. They watch a video of it and then all go, "Ehh??!" MAMI says that that seems impossible for them to do. HARU wonders how you even do the trick. Ono says that it seems like a trick they'd be able to do. They watch the video again and MAMI says there's something odd about the trick and that she doesn't understand it. They still keep saying that they can't do it. MAMI goes first and keeps saying "How do I even do this??", which makes the others laugh. She tries and fails. HARU goes next and also fails. HARU goes, "This is definitely impossible for us to do!" Ono says that all of them have been close to successfully doing the tricks. HARU skeptically goes, "Close??" TOMO goes next but there's a long pause. The others laugh at this. TOMO finally tries and fails as well. TOMO says this is impossible for them to do. Ono again says that they were all for sure close.
•The next trick is "uguisu" (bird). They watch a video of it and go, "Eh, where does the ball go?" and then they all go, "Nope, nope, nope!" while Ono laughs. HARU says that this trick is also impossible to do. MAMI goes first. HARU and TOMO go, "...aah..." Ono goes, "That was so close!" MAMI goes, "What even was that just now??" TOMO goes, "Didn't it touch?" Ono thinks so and plays the 'success' trumpet sound. HARU goes, "Ah, he's giving a point to you!" HARU goes next. They all go, "...aah..." again. TOMO says that she thinks it touched. HARU says that she doesn't think so, but then they discuss it a little more and she does say that it did touch. The 'success' sound is played. MAMI goes, "He's just giving you 0.1 points, though!" Ono says that that was a good try, though, and HARU thanks him. TOMO goes, "It's fine if it just makes a sound, right?" The others chuckle. TOMO goes next and all of them immediately go, "That was close!" The 'success' sound is played and TOMO is also given 0.1 points. HARU says that all of them were given 0.1 points each.
•The next trick is also the last one: "tsubame gaeshi" (orbit). They watch a video of it and don't seem to be too intimidated by it/seem like they could attempt it. They take a bit to understand exactly what to do before attempting it. MAMI goes first, tries it, and everyone immediately goes, "Ahh!!" and laughs while the 'fail' sound is played. Before HARU goes, she goes over what to do and then tries it out. She gets the first step done, then reviews what to do next, but ultimately fails on the second step. They all laugh. TOMO goes next and also gets the first step done. They go "Ahh!!" again and clap. She fails on the second step as well, though. HARU says that TOMO closest to succeeding, though. Point-wise, it seems that HARU might have done better since they say that she's the winner. MAMI and TOMO congratulate her while she says thanks.
•HARU then says if it's okay if both of them are the winners. Ono decides that they should try out the "chuuzara" (center cup) trick to decide the one winner. They both try it at the same time but both fail. Ono says to try doing it until one of them is able to do it. They try again and MAMI goes, "No, this is impossible!" and laughs. They then do an official second round and both fail again. HARU goes, "This is hard to do!" They go again and TOMO goes, "Ahhh!" as she succeeds. They then announce her as the official winner. Ono pretends as if he's interviewing her on TV and asks her how she's currently feeling. TOMO says, "I hope I was able to show everything I have practiced so far. Thank you so much to everyone who supported me!" Ono says something else about her being ＃1 in SCANDAL and something that's inaudible. TOMO answers, "I hope to continue to push my kendama further in the future." Ono says to lastly say something to the fans. TOMO says, "I won at the end with chuuzara! Thank you!"

Good evening, SCANDAL. I found out about SCANDAL via "Catch up." I found this program by chance on Audee, and at first I just thought it was a great deal to be able to listen to music on Audee. Before I knew it I had listened to all the past episodes. Listening to the weekly updates on Tuesday during my commute has become customary for me, and it's become an indispensable part of my life. I'd be happy if I could continue to listen to "Catch up" broadcasts.

I first heard about SCANDAL three years ago when I saw the music video for "Tonight" and was shocked at how cool HARUNA danced.
A little time has passed since then, and the unlimited UTOPIA Yokohama and Tokyo performances this spring were my first time seeing you guys. The first festival I saw you at was GOOOOOON!. Both were a lot of fun and really exciting.
HARUNA: Eh, they found out about us from "Tonight"?
TOMOMI: It was "Tonight"?
HARUNA: Eh, I wonder how they found their way to "Tonight"... I wonder if it just happened to come up as a recommendation.
TOMOMI: That's gotta be it, right? They said it was how they found out about us, so it must have come up in connection with something. What do you think comes up as "related videos" now? What do you think it is?
HARUNA: I wonder?
MAMI: By "related," do you mean that if you subscribe to a channel, [videos of us] will come up?
TOMOMI: Or, bands you often search for or watch.
HARUNA: But that means it's based on your own algorithm, right?
TOMOMI: Videos for [the band] Porno Graffitti [would come up in relation to us], but I wonder what they are now?
HARUNA: In a previous episode when TOMO was abset, I talked about the international student we met on a plane to Brazil...
TOMOMI: Yeah.
HARUNA: She said she liked go!go!vanillas...
TOMOMI: Yeah, she said that. She liked Glim Spanky and such.
HARUNA: So that girl didn't know about SCANDAL. So, we're not likely part of the related videos.
TOMOMI: Yes. She was like, "Is SCANDAL the band that sings 'Haーteーshiーnaーiー'?" (in reference to SPEED's "White Love" song)
HARUNA: That did happen!
•The episode starts with this.
•MAMI reads the next message from a listener who says they discovered SCANDAL in March 2020 when "A.M.D.K.J." suddenly popped up as a recommended video on YouTube for them. The band wonders what the original video they were watching was. HARU says that it was fate, and also that one probably wouldn't click a recommended video unless it interested them, which means that something hooked them enough for them to want to watch the video. MAMI says that she wants their videos to pop up suddenly for a lot of people [who don't know about them]. Ono says that most of the messages they'll be reading today are like that.
•HARU reads the next message from a listener who says they first discovered SCANDAL in November 2019 when on a business trip and happened to be watching YouTube when the MV for "Shunkan Sentimental" came on. The band says it's mysterious/odd how one of their songs from 10 years ago at that point would be a recommended video.
•TOMO reads the next message from a listener who lists SCANDAL along with a few milestones in their life (they entered the workforce in 2006 and were surprised to see a band of girls wearing school uniforms, they saw the "Stamp!" MV playing on cable TV in 2016, etc.), and how they heard "one more time" in 2022 during the pandemic and thought that they could start looking forward to the future little by little again, which is when they became a fan. The band says thanks, but are kind of confused about the message and the years they mentioned. HARU says that they're probably mistaken about what they mentioned about 2006, since they technically didn't start wearing school uniforms until around 2007-2008. They might have meant 2008 instead. MAMI says that it sounds like they found out about SCANDAL in 2008, then saw SCANDAL again on cable TV in 2016 but didn't become a fan then, and then in 2022 they saw/heard "one more time" and became a fan at that time. HARU says that it's all about timing, and that hearing stories like this really make her glad that they've continued to be a band for all this time. MAMI says that it's precisely because they've been around for 17 years that this can happen.
•MAMI reads the next message from a listener who says their memory with SCANDAL involves their decision to change careers last year when they moved to Tokyo to pursue a career in arts and managed to make a living doing it. On the other hand, they realized they didn't love expressing themselves enough to make it their job. That's when "Ai ni Naranakatta no sa" was released and it became clear to them that their childhood dream hadn't turned out to be their true love. Hearing it live on tour, they cried and made up their mind to quit that line of work. TOMO says that's one way of looking at the song. MAMI says there are definitely times when you realize that something you love isn't something you want to make your job. If you're forced to do something you once loved doing, you might end up feeling different about it than how you used to. TOMO says that it takes a lot of courage to make the decision to quit. HARU says that it's also impressive when you're able to properly judge whether you're suited for something or not, and that she hopes the listener finds something that suits them again.
•HARU reads the next message from a listener who says there are two things related to SCANDAL that they'll be grateful for for their entire life. One is that they changed their life. They were a troubled teen when a friend of theirs invited them to go see SCANDAL on their TEMPTATION BOX tour in 2010. They say SCANDAL was so cool and sparkly that their life changed 180 degrees from that moment on. The second one is that they found their true calling and started working in a position where they've been able to help out with SCANDAL's concerts in the Kansai area (they basically work in the concert industry there). They didn't say what exactly it is that they do, so the band sort of tries to guess what it is. TOMO says that maybe they're a local staffer that handles lighting. HARU says the listener should have said what it is that they do, which makes Ono laugh. They say stories like this make them happy.
•TOMO reads the next message from a listener who's Brazilian found out about SCANDAL in middle school when "Bleach" was popular and "Shoujo S" was as well. They wanted to know what the lyrics were about and so started to study Japanese. Now they're a professor of Japanese at a university in Brazil and say it's all thanks to SCANDAL. The band is surprised at this and how being interested in the lyrics turned into this. TOMO says that the lyrics of "Shoujo S" do seem a little hard to be translated, like the "Iya iya iya" lines at the end. HARU agrees that it does seem pretty difficult to understand. TOMO says that even in Japanese there are parts that are kind of confusing. HARU laughs at how TOMO, who wrote the lyrics, is saying this. TOMO laughs as well. HARU says that during their performance in Brazil she thought that a lot of people did seem to have memorized the lyrics to their songs. It wasn't only the choruses that they were singing along to. TOMO says that they sang "HARUKAZE" in full. Ono brings up how the band's still talking about Brazil, even though they had originally meant for talks about Brazil to only span for one episode (it ended up being two full episodes, plus a part of this one too, now).
•MAMI reads the next message from a listener who basically says that SCANDAL's music was always there for them when they were a student, starting from middle school and seeing SCANDAL perform "Shoujo S" on MUSIC STATION in the 'rain.' They also thank SCANDAL for keeping what they love alive and shining. The band says they're happy to hear all that. TOMO says she's glad that the band is alive and well within everyone's precious memories. She then brings up how she listened to BoA a lot in elementary and middle school, and BoA's songs were always used during lessons at Caless when they were attending. Last year, she and HARU went to BoA's 20th anniversary concert. She knew all of the songs and found herself tearing up. All sorts of memories such as, "Oh, we had a lesson that used this song" were brought back. HARU says that memories from your teenage years are very special since that's when your most formative years are--you encounter all kinds of things, experience new things. That's why you'll always love the things you loved at that time. They say that they're grateful that that's what they are to the listener and thank them.
•They then close out this episode. Since this was recorded about a week before their anniversary, they talk a bit about it and that they technically don't know yet if they are going to get their Guinness World Record (spoiler: of course they did get it lol), which they'll confirm during the following week's episode. They also say best regards for their 18th year as well. HARU mentions that she'll then have been in the band for exactly half of her life. MAMI says that all of them will officially have been in the band for half their lives then. HARU says she's really glad they've continued being a band.

HARUNA: On August 21, SCANDAL's 17th anniversary event was held at Namba Hatch in Osaka, and we set the Guinness World Record for the "Longest running rock band with the same members (female)." Thank you very much!
All: Thank you very much!
HARUNA: Again, that's amazing.
MAMI: Yeah, it is.
TOMOMI: Thank you very much.
HARUNA: On "Catch up," we've learned about different records as we looked through the Guinness World Records book and such, gradually making us excited. Then, we were set the record. It was a great day for those who came to the venue and those who watched the livestream. I was so emotionally moved, more than I thought I would be.
TOMOMI: The moment I got off the stage I don't know if I felt really relieved, or exhausted, or content, or accomplished...
RINA: Totally get that!
TOMOMI: That's why we were so tired when we recorded our comments afterwards...
HARUNA: We didn't think we were nervous or anything like that.
TOMOMI: It was a fun event. It was closest to feeling like one of our BEST Xmas concerts.
RINA: There was a festive feel to it.
TOMOMI: Yeah.
HARUNA: ...but as we spoke on stage, we got more and more excited, and the thrill we felt when the Guinness World Records certifier was giving the award to us was amazing. It was a feeling we had never felt before...
TOMOMI: That was the first time that's happened.
HARUNA: I think it was an amazing experience with a sense of tension to it.
RINA: It really was.
HARUNA: We said that we had simply continued to be a band. The four of us just spent 17 years together. But that day was when we affirmed ourselves once again how rare that is even from a global perspective. That's why we think things like this are very important. By continuing to be a band, it's important to give ourselves a pat on the back for that.

HARUNA: We were really tired.
RINA: We were. We were relieved.
TOMOMI: You can tell that from the first words we say. We ought to have been a little more excited.
HARUNA: We weren't like, "Yay!"
TOMOMI: We should have said that. But we didn't feel like it.
HARUNA: Yeah.

HARUNA: 11:30... We had interviews and TV tapings after the event ended, so because we had reflected on the event over and over, maybe that's why we felt that way.
RINA: I wonder how many hours passed between the end of the concert and when we sat down in the chairs....

•HARU: "We got our Guinness World Record! It was more emotional than I expected, and once again I felt how we're truly supported by our fans. The concert after the awards ceremony was so passionate. It was a night where we felt so loved by everyone who came to see us. Thank you so much!"
•TOMO: "I really didn't expect to cry that much. It really surprised me. It really does make us tear up when we see everyone's faces. We can generally remember when some fans have started coming to our concerts, like so-and-so has been coming since our early days. It was a large gathering of people who became fans at different times, which was also amazing. It made me cry. It really feels like this is our treasure we've created during these past 17 years. You guys are what's most important to us. Thank you so much!"
•MAMI: "I cried so hard that I couldn't speak. I didn't think I would cry that much. First of all, I didn't even think I would cry. I couldn't stop crying once I started to do so. I was so grateful to all the fans and to our team, and so many thoughts and feelings came flooding out that I cried and cried. But now I know that we're breaking a record every single day from here on. It feels strange, but I hope we can keep working hard to keep going for as long as possible. Thank you so much!"
•RINA: "It was such a great day. I didn't know what I was going to say or how I was going to feel when I got on stage. I felt like I didn't know I was at all. But I felt that we had really overcome so many things to reach this day. The four of us worked really hard. As TOMO mentioned, even if we gain confidence in ourselves, it can break down so quickly. But even so, we have to live our lives, even if it's just one step at a time, building up our self-confidence as many times as we can. This was a night that made me realize once more that we have to believe in ourselves and live confidently in order to everyone happy to be a fan of SCANDAL. It was such a wonderful time. Thank you!"
•Then this happens.
•TOMO then talks about the after-party. Live staff and others from different regions had come out to the event and expressed to the band how they felt about it all, and that there were a lot of people whose voices were shaking as they were speaking. Some also had tears in their eyes. TOMO says she was really moved to think that felt the same way that the band did, and that she's really happy that people close to them were happy for them. HARU says that feeling happy along with the band means that they had been fighting together with them, not only at solo concerts but at festivals as well. They want the band to be able to reach many people. She's also sure that there have been many fun moments as well as frustrating ones. She says that some people have been with them for over 10 years and some for a few years, but it's all the same: she reallys appreciate the fact that they treat the band with love.
•RINA talks about how some managers that left years ago will still make time to go see them, despite not being affilated with them anymore. HARU says that they've had a lot of different managers and probably put them through difficult times in their lives, despite those managers being so young. RINA says that some of their former female managers quit because they got married, some wanted to work a different job, some wanted to go abroad, etc. She says that she thinks it's really hard to be a manager for SCANDAL, and that being a female manager for a band in general--not only in Japan--is a very tough job. That's why they're really grateful to them.
•TOMO mentions how program director Ono also came to the event. HARU says that he had been with them starting from when they deparated Shinagawa Station (to go to Osaka) in the morning. Ono says it's because he was given that ticket, which the band laughs at. RINA says sorry and thanks for coming out starting from early in the morning. HARU then brings up the flowers they received from Meiji and how impressive they were. TOMO says how the sign on them changed after the show. HARU explains how the sign originally said "Congratulations on your 17th anniversary," but afterwards it was changed to "Congratulations on setting a Guinness World Record."
•HARU says how they were simply just happy about everything, as well as excited and tired. TOMO says that they don't know why they were tired, and that it was the most tired they had been in the past few years. RINA says that they were probably more tense that they thought they would be because they felt like they had to work hard until that day. TOMO says that in the past they've always been determined to make big events and such happen, but in order to get the Guinness World Record, they had to stay healthy first. She says that last year they had a difficult time when they had COVID, so it felt like they had lived an extra year. HARU says that at any rate, they just wanted all 4 of them to be standing on that stage. TOMO says that they did good.
•Ono asks if they were nervous from when they departed Tokyo for Osaka, and up until the event started. HARU says that they were. TOMO says that they themselves didn't notice that they were nervous, and that they were more relaxed than usual. They thought it was a more fun event than a normal concert, so they didn't think they were nervous at all. HARU says that they were, though, and TOMO agrees. MAMI says that they were much more nervous to perform their new song ("Highlight no Naka de Bokura Zutto") during the concert portion since they were debuting it for the first time. HARU talks a little about the new song and says that it's a song about their determination and passion for the band, which can finally be released after celebrating their 17th anniversary and getting their Guinness World Record. They were very excited to deliver this song for the first time, and they performed it with the hope that the audience would properly receive it. She also says that the audience was even more enthusiastic than usual due to the awards ceremony that happened just before the concert portion.
•To close out the discussion, HARU says that usually they have a few days off after August 21st, with some going to visit their parents or some just taking it easy, but this year it was different and instead they shot the music video for the new song, did interviews, etc., so they were in that mode the entire time. They did quite a bit in August in preparation for this single, so they hope that everyone can look forward to their activities in the future.

I was unfortunately not able to attend the concert, but I am writing this message after being moved by watching the livestream.
I started going to SCANDAL concerts the year I graduated from school and started working. (By the way, I'm a teacher!)
All: Hey! Teacher!
In my first year of working, I had a lot of hardships in my unfamiliar life, but when I went to a SCANDAL concert for the first time, I enjoyed it so much that I'm unable to express it in words, and I was motivated to go again. It gave me the drive to want to go again. Looking forward to the next live concert helped me get through the hard days.
I am now in my third year of working, and whenever I have a hard time, I remember how you've continued on for 17 years, and I feel like I can grit my teeth.
During your comments after being certified as the best in the world, RINA said, "The first thing we learned was to live as a quartet. I'm happy about that." I was very moved. I realized again that my love for SCANDAL has long since passed just liking your music. I respect and love your way of living, and my life is energized by supporting you all.
I am so passionate about SCANDAL that this has become a long and inconclusive sentence, but SCANDAL is the bible of my life. I am proud to be a fan. I will support you forever and ever.

Congratulations on your Guinness World Record certification. I was able to witness the moment of certification. I was really happy and glad to be able to witness the happy moment! I was so moved by the feelings of each member.
It has been more than 10 years since I fell in love with SCANDAL, and I have made many precious friends since I started going to your concerts. Back then, we were all students and had a lot of fun together wherever we went, but as I grew older, I started working and got married, so there was a period of time when I couldn't go to shows as much as I used to. There were times when I went to concerts alone because I couldn't make plans with my friends.
But I still loved SCANDAL and the friends that SCANDAL had brought me together with, and I continued to support the band.
I was so happy to have this moment together with my precious friends more than 10 years after I met them, and I couldn't stop crying when we all stood shoulder to shoulder and sang "SCANDAL BABY" together. I am so grateful to all of you. Thank you so much.
I am not good at writing and my sentences are not coherent, but I sent this message to express my thoughts and gratitude. There are many more feelings I would like to convey, but I can't put them all together.

•MAMI reads the next message from a fan from Hong Kong who attended the anniversary concert. It's written in somewhat broken Japanese, but the message is basically about them congratulating the band and saying that they worked hard. They also say that the concert was more exciting than emotional. TOMO says that a lot of overseas fans went to the concert. HARU says that she's glad that fans are able to come over to Japan again. MAMI says that if this event had happened two or three years ago, she wonders if they would have had to made it a livestream event instead. HARU says that they can't get used to the atmosphere of performing for livestreams. MAMI then talks about how fans overseas have created fan clubs and the like, and they even send them books with messages in them (). She also says that it's amazing how many SCANDAL communities have formed in all kinds of places. HARU says that they create content to promote SCANDAL overseas. MAMI mentions how people do reaction videos to their songs and says that she's glad people are enjoying their music in that way.
•RINA reads the next message from a listener who went to the anniversary concert and mentions how TOMO said that the band's probably made their fans feel lonely (i.e. liking all-girl bands was seen as kind of embarrassing in the past), but they say it's not the case for them at all. They've in fact made many friends whom they've been able to connect with because of SCANDAL. They're not good at getting close to others, but thanks to SCANDAL, they've made at least a few friends. They say that SCANDAL has made their life so much more enjoyable, and that they've made friends that they cherish. TOMO says that there have been a lot of people who have messaged her about the "making fans feel lonely" thing she said and saying that that isn't true, which made her really happy. People sent her messages saying things like how they used to be ridiculed in the past for liking all-girl bands, and hearing what TOMO said at the concert made them remember those times. She said that she had said how she thought everyone had felt that way [when all-girl bands = embarrassing] but that wasn't the case, and she apologizes. RINA says that the band has been able to do what they've done because there are so many people who do understand them. TOMO says she's glad that there are so many people who are proud of the band, and that they hope that SCANDAL will continue for as long as possible because there are people who care about the band as much as the band members themselves do.
•RINA says that there are some fans now who have been around long enough that they know that the band is currently totally different than they used to be in the past, and they recognize the changes, love them for it, and still continue to follow them. She also says that there are also a lot of people who couldn't keep up with the changes, or whose opinions of the band are negative. Like, "I liked SCANDAL better before," or "I bought a CD because I liked this," or "I wish they'd play this kind of music." She says she thinks there are a lot of opinions about the band because each person has their own ideal image of SCANDAL as a band. She believes that all-girl bands in particular really do have to change to keep going. She's sure that many things will happen in the future, but she thinks that most of their fans now do understand and support them. That's why she doesn't think they should be afraid to change and continue to do so. HARU says that all their fans are really good with words, and write + communicate well. They respect the band's spirits and let them know that they love us. That's why the band can do their activities with peace of mind, and can try a lot of different things. RINA says that she wants them to make music freely in the true sense of the word, and that is something that they'll have to do from now on. She says that they were able to reach this goal with their own strength. HARU says that the four of them want to bring everyone an even better SCANDAL.
•They then close out the episode. HARU mentions that they're looking for messages with the theme of their new segment, "Arubaito no Naka de Bokura Zutto" (a pun on the title of their new song, and translates to "We're Always in the Part-Time Jobs"), where they want to hear about peoples' part-time job experiences. RINA and TOMO are the ones who have never had a part-time job, and RINA says that she has no idea about how the shift system works or anything, and that she really admires stuff like this. She says it's really cool and TOMO agrees. The others laugh at this. MAMI wonders if they know how time cards work. RINA says that she wants people to tell them stuff like what the rules were at a job, and that she'd really like to know in detail what morning meetings are like. MAMI says that she thinks RINA and TOMO are probably interested in all the part-time jobs, but she asks if there are any in particular they want to learn/hear about. RINA says it's difficult to narrow it down. TOMO says that there are a lot, and gives McDonald's and an izakaya as an example. RINA says that they're interested in food-and-drink establishments. MAMI asks for people like that to send in messages.

We're taking stories about your part-time jobs! We've already received a lot of them!
RINA: I'm looking forward to it!

HARUNA: TOMO and RINA have no part-time job experience.
RINA: Yes, we'll be learning about the real world.
HARUNA: Well then, let's get to reading lots of them.

Hello, SCANDAL. I had a part-time job when I was a college student, but my parents forbade me from working in restaurants that handle alcohol or after 9:00 pm, so I worked at convenience stores and supermarkets, which is not particularly unusual...
But in May of my freshman year, I started working part-time at a convenience store on the first floor of the building where I lived. In July of my sophomore year, the convenience store closed, so in August I started a part-time job as a cashier at a supermarket a 20-minute walk away. I was surprised that the supermarket closed in September of my junior year, so I started working at a newly opened supermarket at the same location from October until November of my senior year. I had to witness the closing of two stores in about three and a half years.
I sent in this message because I thought this was a very unique experience. I didn't make a lot of money, but I was able to go to SCANDAL's concerts thanks to my part-time jobs, so I am glad that I was able to continue working until my graduation thesis and national exam.
RINA: That's crazy. Good work. I can't believe they were able to come to our concerts with the money they worked so hard to earn...
HARUNA: We're really grateful...
TOMOMI: But you know, all the stores we used to go to in our indie-label days closed down, right?
HARUNA: Yeah, they did!
RINA: The curry shop, and what else?
TOMOMI: Daiei [shopping mall], too...
MAMI: That's right!
RINA: The closing of Daiei was a big deal.
MAMI: After we moved to Tokyo, there was that bakery [that closed]!
HARUNA: A bakery near where we lived when we first came to Tokyo.
MAMI: And a shabu-shabu restaurant!
TOMOMI: The community store (*convenience store) is gone too. I think we absorbed all that "luck" and came this far. ...We're very lucky, aren't we?
RINA: We're very lucky.
TOMOMI: I think we've lived our lives by absorbing all kinds of things...
MAMI: Daiei closing was such a big dealー
RINA: It was.
HARUNA: Are we energy vampires?
RINA: Don't say that...
TOMOMI: I think we're just lucky.
HARUNA: Maybe so. It doesn't happen often that so many stores close right after the other...
•The episode starts with them eating some newly updated Meiji SAVAS Milk Protein Fat-Free Yogurt in mango, and then this happens.
•TOMO reads the next message from a listener whose story is about when they worked at the family restaurant Bon when they were a junior college student. Since it was in the countryside, they were running the restaurant by themself from 10:30 pm to midnight on weekday nights. One day, instead of less customers being there, for some reason more and more people starting coming and mostly filled up the 30-seat restaurant. They couldn't possibly handle everything alone and was about to cry when a female customer approached them and said how she was part of the crew of the restaurant next door and offered to help. The listener was surprised, but with a smile on their face they immediately said yes. After about an hour of being helped, they managed to overcome the situation. The band is surprised that something like this happened. TOMO says that the listener sure was saved and that the woman probably seemed like a hero to them. MAMI says that some people who work at food establishments might be a fan of the food served there and may go to it on their days off to eat there, so perhaps something similar happened here. The band wonders why it got so crowded on that day. HARU guesses that maybe it appeared on TV or something.
•MAMI says that this same kind of thing had happened to her when she worked at Yoshinoya. She worked at one that was along a national highway, and there was a big park nearby where children's baseball games and such would be held, so there were days when a lot of children and adults would be there. She says that she cried at the register when someone had ordered 50 pork bowls and 50 beef bowls. RINA goes, "Ahh!", HARU laughs, and TOMO goes, "What in the world?" RINA wonders if there's a button on the register to push that adds 50 orders. A staffer laughs hard at this. MAMI says that Yoshinoya didn't have touch panels back then, so you'd have to manually add in everything (including toppings, sides), so you had to memorize all of the codes and colors used for everything. She couldn't remember, which is why she cried. They all laugh at this. TOMO asks if MAMI was working alone at the time. MAMI says no, and that she was working together with her seniors. TOMO says she's glad to hear that. HARU says that it's lonely when you're working all alone like in the listener's case. TOMO says that rather than lonely, it's more like impossible. RINA says that that's way too hard. MAMI says that it first surprises you and then it's a lot of work to catch up with everything. RINA says that working alone probably means that the managers and such beleive that you have the ability to handle things on your own, which she thinks is really cool. MAMI says that her seniors who were around the same age as her would buy little gifts for her, like sweets from convenience stores. This was when she was in her first year of high school (10th grade) and the seniors were in their third year (12th grade). TOMO says that that's kind of youth that everyone seems to have, though she of course doesn't. The band all laughs. Ono says that a lot of part-timers seem to date each other, which the band agrees with. HARU says that before you know it it's like they're married, and it's surprising who ends up with whom. RINA says that people can start looking cool to each other after working together every day.
•MAMI reads the next message from a listener who says their part-time job was at a ramen shop in college. The band is excited about that. The listener says that the most important thing they gained was not money or cooking skills, but friends who were around the same age as them. They mention how they spent a lot of time together and still hang out even now. The band that's wonderful. RINA says relationships made in that way must be really special. HARU says that relationships with one another are the most important thing about working, which the others agree with. RINA says that work is the source of stress and happiness. HARU says that working is something that you have to do to survive, so it's a little different from school. That's why it's absolutely important to be able to do stress-free. RINA says that she's really envious about relationships/experiences like that.
•MAMI reads the next message from a listener whose part-time job was at a revolving sushi place in collage. The band is excited and says that's really great. The listener says that the most difficult thing was remembering a customer's order since this was before customers would place their orders on a touch panel, which says where they're sitting and what they ordered. At the time they worked, those restaurants had an intercom system where they'd directly talk to a customer to take their order. It was really hectic doing that during peak times. TOMO asks the others if they remember this mobile game that was popular right after the iPhone had first come out where you'd fry tempura. The others go, "Ahh!" and do remember it. RINA says, "That's so nostalgic!" HARU wonders if it's still around. RINA says that it definitely must be. TOMO says that there was also a "tempura samurai" game where you had to dispense orders right away or else the 'customers' would get mad. She says that people like the listener have probably had to deal with many mad customers in real life, and she really respects them for it. The others agree. RINA says that customers need to be nicer to these kinds of employees.
•RINA reads the next message from a listener whose part-time job was to blow the whistle when a foul ball flew into the stands at a pro baseball game. HARU wonders how much that kind of job would pay. RINA says that she couldn't imagine what it'd be. Ono says that it's about 15,000 yen ($100 USD) per day. TOMO says that that's an important job and you have to really concentrate. HARU says that she had no idea part-time jobs like that existed. RINA wonders how you would get a job like that. Ono says something about how you used to be able to find jobs like that first thing in the morning and would call in. The band says it's like Townwork, a site where you can find part-time jobs. TOMO says that a lot of people who help out at venues they play at are part-timers who sign up via sites like that.
•HARU reads the next message from a listener whose part-time job was keeping score of high school baseball games. The job was offered by a local TV station Akita, and it involved keeping score books and periodically sending faxes to the TV station during summer high school baseball tournaments. The info was most likely used for breaking news and such about the games. They say that this was almost 20 years ago, so this kind of job may not be around anymore due to smartphones and other devices. TOMO says that this was a job unique to those days. They say that that was a lot of responsibility to have with faxing stuff over to the TV station, and that it was important to not make mistakes. HARU says that she didn't know that part-time positions like that existed. They also talk about how it seems like things have changed nowadays and they probably wouldn't let part-timers do something as important as this anymore. TOMO says that as things get more convenient, there are more and more jobs that don't need to be done by humans, which is a little sad. The others agree. RINA says that there are perks to both sides. The band says that their fans sure have done all kinds of part-time jobs, and that they'll continue to read these messages for the next month or so.

TOMOMI: Mr. Matsumoto!
MAMI: A sudden appearance!!
HARUNA: It's been three years!

Matsumoto: I see. It seems that you all already have some plans!
•The episode starts with this.
•Matsumoto then explains what each 'position' entails. In baseball, the ＃1 hitter is the player with the highest on-base percentage and the fastest feet. In other words, the ＃1 hitter is the front runner. On the other hand, the ＃2 player is said to be the "bridge player." The first player stands out, and when he gets on base, he sends a runner to second base with a bunt, which is called a "send-off bunt." In other words, think of it as a role where you sacrifice yourself to make others look good. The ＃3 player is the player who can score a run when the opportunity arises. In the major leagues, it is sometimes said that the ＃3 hitter is the best hitter in the game. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th batters are also called the "cleanup." and they return runners to the plate. In other words, the ＃3 and 5 positions are all key members of the team. ＃4 in particular is a general who sits between the team's managing directors. The most cooperative, long-hitting, and destructive hitter will come in at ＃4. ＃5 is the most competitive. For example, when the ＃4 hitter strikes out, you bring in the ＃5 hitter who is as good as the ＃4 hitter and says, "Keep your hands hot; I'm here."
•＃6 is said to be a hitter of unpredictability. In other words, there are pitchers who let off steam when the core players of ＃4 and ＃5 fall down. •They try to pick ＃2 next. HARU says that it should be an ingredient that would grill well along with the meat. RINA suggests zucchini, though TOMO immediately says right after that that it should be something that cooks really fast. MAMI says that she'd like to include red bell peppers. Another suggestion is king oyster mushrooms. Matsumoto reminds them that ＃2 is one that could be 'sacrificed' to make the other ingredients look good. HARU says that green bell peppers would be that. RINA agrees that it'd be a waste to have zucchini or king oyster mushrooms for that. They agree that ＃2 is green bell peppers.
•Next is ＃3, the most reliable one. RINA says that it should probably be a meat. TOMO says that it could be ribs. HARU wonders when they could put in sausages, and the others agree that sausages are a strong one. MAMI says that sausages would be better at ＃5, based on what Matsumoto said. The others agree and decide to put ribs at ＃4. That still leaves ＃3 open. TOMO says that they haven't chosen a seafood yet. RINA says that maybe they should do something chicken-related. Chicken thighs are suggested. RINA wonders if they'll be putting any veggies in the 3-5 spots. Matsumoto says that ＃3 is more like a player who adds color to the game. They decide to go with chicken thighs. HARU says that you can flavor thighs in many different ways using sauces.
•So ranks 3-5 are: ＃3 - chicken thighs, ＃4 - ribs, ＃5 - sausages. HARU says that was fast and things are going smoothly. For ＃6, which is has an 'element of surprise'/unpredictability, RINA says that she could picture a seafood being in that spot. The others agree and TOMO suggests shrimp. The others say that's doable. RINA says that scallops could be good as well. They ultimately decide to do shrimp for ＃6.
•Next is ＃7. Matsumoto likens it to a rookie that you're expecting to see growth from and are looking forward to it. RINA suggests corn, which TOMO says would be good. HARU says that red bell peppers could be good as well. TOMO says that bananas could also be good and the others immediately say that BBQ'd bananas sound really good. TOMO says that you grill the entire banana, peel and all, and the peel turns black. MAMI says that tomatoes could be good too. The rest also agree. HARU mentions kinoko mushrooms, and then the others bring up king oyster mushrooms along with it. They wonder which one of those they should go with for ＃7. TOMO says that king oyster mushrooms after shrimp would be refreshing. The others agree and make that ＃7.

HARU suggests onions and the others all go, "Ahhh" loudly. TOMO says that it's true nothing can start without onions, and that nothing will start without it. HARU laughs at this. TOMO says that it actually should have been in the 3-5 spots. They all agree that the ＃9 spot should be onions.

Coach Shimizu
After graduating from high school, I attended a culinary school in Tokyo and worked part-time at a Japanese restaurant from that time. My part-time job was from 6pm to 11pm, or until midnight.
After I turned 20, we often went out for drinks after work, but some of the older students who were part-timers at the time quit due to employment or higher education, leaving me and the college student as the only part-timers who were adults. I was the only adult part-timer left. They often invited me to go out for drinks. But there was one problem. He really couldn't hold his liquor. We would talk passionately about our part-time jobs. It was always around 1:00 or 2:00 am, and I had to catch the 7:30 am train the next day to get there, but I always went whenever he invited me. It was a strange relationship where we shared hardships and joys together, and we were not friends.
This relationship was possible because I was a part-timer, and were not school or work colleagues. I haven't seen or been in touch with him for about 10 years now, but the segment reminded me of him after a long time. I will try to contact him if I have a chance.
TOMOMI: That's what youth is all about.

RINA: I really did. If I wasn't in a band, I would definitely be doing it.

•TOMO reads the next message from a listener whose story is from when they were in college and working at the daycare center from which they had graduated. Their job was to work one-on-one for an hour a week with elementary school children who were struggling in their classes, and to help them become less self-conscious about their studies as well as to make them enjoy their studies. They themself was not very good at studying, so while they understood the childrens' feelings, they were worried about whether they would be able to teach them well. At first, there were many children who were reluctant to learn, but little by little, a teacher-student relationship was established, and they were happy when the children looked forward to learning and enjoyed their studies more and more. They end with saying that they're currently a nursery school teacher. There's a slight pause before the band goes, "Hey! Teacher" and laughs. They say that this was a job to eliminate poor study skills, and doing something like that isn't easy when it's also very hard to like something that you're not good at. This was a job that they didn't know existed. They also mention how it's very difficult to teach people how to enjoy learning, but if you succeed, you can clear up the fundamental issues such as how to approach something.
•MAMI reads the next message from a listener whose story is from when they were in high school. They were part of the kendo club and on days off from club activities, they would work part-time as a mover in order to work out their physical strength. Of course, it was good exercise, but they were surprised that they could carry heavy things like washing machines by myself once they learned how to move them. With the knowledge they gained from their part-time job, they were able to move in August this year without having to call a moving company, which helped them to reduce the number of items they had to sell. The band is surprised by this and says it's really cool. TOMO says that her younger brother had a part-time job like that before, but he tried it out just once and said that he couldn't do it. She also says that it must be really hard to do a job like this in the summer when it's hot. MAMI mentions that on a TV show the other day there was a celebrity who tried out a part-time job as a mover. They learned all sorts of detailed stuff, like putting sheets on the walls to prevent damaging the furniture and the right way to hold something without breaking it.
•RINA reads the next message from a listener whose story is from when they worked part-time on a garbage truck. They say that people think it's hard to work that job when it's hot, but their average working hours were only about 2 hours. Also, if they finished work early, they could use the extra time to get cleaned up, do laundry, have coffee in an air-conditioned room, and chat with other employees. They were worried and thinking things like, "Am I really getting paid for this?", but they were paid as well as anyone else. They say it's true that it's hard work, running and carrying garbage when it's hot, but it only takes a few hours. They were also a professional boxer at the time, so they were confident in their physical strength. Now that they've retired from boxing, they've been hired by another company as a full-time garbage truck driver, thanks to their experience working part-time as one. They say they'll continue to work closely with the community to clean up the city. The band is surprised that they seem to have a lot of pro people among their fans. TOMO says that it's really nice to watch the garbage trucks smash down trash. The others laugh and agree. They thank the listener for doing a job like this, especially during the pandemic when it was dangerous to just go out, but living a 'normal' kind of life then would have not been possible without people like them.
•HARU reads the next message from a listener whose story is from when they worked part-time at a famous video rental store. They thought they would be rejected during the interview due to having a mohawk at the time, but for some reason they hired them. They had heard that there was a rumor in their hometown that there was someone with a mohawk at the rental video store. Incidentally, they were told this by a woman they went out with when they quit their part-time job and became a working adult. The job itself was quite tiring standing on their feet, but they were very happy to work surrounded by music and movies. The band laughs at how famous this person was in their hometown. TOMO says that there are a lot of flashy people at video rental stores and CD stores these days, but perhaps it was rarer back then. They then talk about how Japan is still one of the few countries that have stores like that, but they've gone down in number quite a bit. TOMO says that you can watch a lot more stuff on subscription sites and the like. HARU says it's hard to find a place you can work without changing your hairstyle, and thinks that most places have restrictions or are a bit strict about it. MAMI says that the only jobs that might let you do unconventional hairstyles are ones in apparel, salons, and CD stores. HARU says that she thinks that restaurants are probably really strict.
•TOMO says that maybe call centers would be more accepting since the customers don't see your face. HARU says that she wants to ask call center people about their jobs. They agree that it must be a really difficult and stressful job. MAMI says that she had a friend who worked at a call center and thought that the commute was a bit of a hassle because it was so far from her house to the call center. She was just answering the phone all the time and waiting for calls to come in, which is why she said it was a really easy job. The others say that being the one to receive calls is tough when there are complaints and such. MAMI says that there was a manual and the friend would just be like, "Okay, got it," and if something unreasonable was said, she would tell that person what number to call next. It didn't seem that hard, which is why she was good at it. RINA says dealing with stuff like that kind of requires the skill for you to remain calm and composed. The band says that everyone whose messages were read seemed to have found jobs that were the right fit for them, which they think is impressive.
•HARU then asks [presumably RINA and TOMO] if there's any job that they think they can do, based on what they've heard so far. RINA says she doesn't think she could do any, which makes HARU and MAMI laugh. She also says that even before this segment she had nothing but respect for those who work jobs like these, and that she wants to always remember that she's able to live her life while being supported by people in various jobs. She also mentions that the four of them talked about this subject in the car on the way home after doing the first round of this segment.

•The episode actually starts with them trying to answer the question, "What Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt do you want to eat in the fall?" and to choose from the flavors that are in front of them. The flavors are: Rich Strawberry, Crisp Aloe, Refreshing Green Apple Mix, Morning Fruit Mix, and White Peach Mix. Don't really feel like translating everything they said after lol but they all end up choosing the Aloe flavor.
•Then this happens. Ono seems to ask them if they've drawn anything together before. TOMO says that although it's not a drawing, they painted the "Fuzzy" single cover together. She also says that they did something similar for the HELLO WORLD tour set they had during the Japan leg of the tour, where they all wrote on those glass panes the day before opening day. Going back to the question at hand, they still are unsure what the question exactly entails. TOMO says that she's thinking of something that has to do with the number 4, and that it's kind of a rare thing. She asks the others if they often looked for it when they were little. There's a slight pause before HARU goes, "Ahhh!" while RINA and MAMI both have no idea. TOMO goes, "That's so odd that HARU's the only one who gets it!!", referring to how HARU's usually the odd one out when it comes to this segment. They all laugh at this. TOMO says that this is the first time this has happened. HARU and TOMO try to explain that this thing usually has 3. MAMI goes, "You look for it??" They repeat the 3 thing again. TOMO says that you try really hard to look for one that has 4. MAMI and RINA finally seem to understand. TOMO and HARU laugh that they said too much and that their staff are probably mad at them for it. RINA says that since they've said too much, they should reflect and do it again. HARU laughs hard at this. The staff allows them to continue, though. They all write down their answers and end up answering the same: a clover. RINA says that at first she thought they were talking about pizza or cake. MAMI says she thought it was dango. The others laugh at this. RINA says that Dragon Ball also came to mind. They talk about dango and how there certainly are some kinds that have 3 and some that have 4.
•The next question is read: "A word that feel good when you say it." RINA says that that's a good question. MAMI says she has one in mind. TOMO says that there are a lot. RINA says she has some. HARU wonders whose word they should try to guess. She then says that she's sure that the three of them don't know what RINA's one could be, which RINA agrees with and says that they probably don't have an interest in what it is. They agree that for the time being they'll all just answer whatever they want. They reveal their answers, but of course they don't match up with each other. They all see someone's answer and go, "Ahh, that was it!" MAMI sings "Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt!" like in this commercial, and goes, "Right?", inferring that she's the one who wrote that answer. The others say that that was it. RINA goes, "Let's end this this show now." The others all burst out in laughter. TOMO's answer was "rouryu" (ロウリュ; from the Finnish word "löyly," referring to when you splash water on hot stones in a sauna to make steam). HARU answered "purin" (プリン; pudding). TOMO and MAMI say that's really cute. TOMO says that "pudding" is also nice to say. RINA answered "oi kora rukkora." The others go, "What's that??" RINA says it's gag by the comedian duo Joyman. The others laugh at this. RINA says that she listens to Joyman's radio program.
•TOMO wonders how they're going to match answers. RINA says that it's impossible since MAMI already answered correctly. MAMI goes, "The right answer?" and the others say yes. RINA says that there's no possible answer that's more pleasant than that. MAMI goes, "It feels good, doesn't it?" The others agree, and RINA says that it feels good in more ways than one. The others laugh. HARU says that maybe they could decide on a word that has a set amount of syllables. MAMI goes, "Three syllables?" Ono says to do one besides "purin." HARU says that there are a lot of them. RINA wonders if it should be food. MAMI agrees, and then they all agree. TOMO says nothing comes to mind. RINA says that the only thing that's coming to mind is "kirin" (キリン; giraffe), which the others laugh at. RINA then says that the syllable "ki" is stuck in her head.
•HARU says she think there's a word that's similar to purin that she finds pleasant. The others aren't sure what that could be. RINA says that she can't think of any food that resembles purin. TOMO and HARU say that it's similar in shape. MAMI says that the packaging is similar and can be found in the same area as purin in convenience stores, and that it's often transparent. RINA seems to get it and says that it doesn't feel good at all to say, which HARU agrees with. MAMI then thinks of something else that's 3 syllables, that is nuts/fruit-related, and is good for the upcoming season. She says that she wants them to put it in katakana instead of the way it's often said. The others are confused by this. MAMI then says that this word is in the name of a Sanrio character. TOMO gets it but HARU and RINA don't seem to. MAMI says that it might not feel good to say. There's a pause before HARU says that she gets it. TOMO says that she's very familiar with it. HARU goes, "What does that mean??", which makes TOMO and MAMI laugh hard. MAMI explains that the character has the same birthday as TOMO. HARU laughs and goes, "That's what you mean? I had no idea about something like that!" RINA is still totally lost. MAMI says it's well suited for the category of fruits in the coming season. HARU laughs hard at this, but RINA is still lost. MAMI says that it's often used in autumn-like foods like sweet potatoes, and repeats that she wants them to answer in katakana. RINA says again that she still has no clue. HARU says that's something memorable in front of Shibuya Station. RINA goes, "Ahh, I got it!" TOMO says that it smells amazing. They reveal their answers and end up all answering the same: "marron" (マロン; chestnut). The Sanrio character MAMI was referring to is Marroncream. HARU and RINA say that they didn't know her birthday was the same as TOMO's. The band says that that was difficult. Ono says a contender could have been "kimchi" (キムチ), since it starts with "ki." TOMO says that the word HARU was thinking of was "jelly"/"jello") and that it does feel good to say.
•The next question is: "Animals that could be your friend if they were able to talk." TOMO says that there are a lot. RINA wonders whose answer they should base it on. MAMI wonders if it should be a small animal. TOMO says if it's something that's too big, you won't see them as often. MAMI asks her what she means. TOMO says that you wouldn't be able to see them as easily around town and such. She then mentions how there are some Disney princesses who talk a lot to animals while at a window. RINA says that there are quite a few of them. TOMO says there are, but this animal is one that pretty much is always there, no matter what the film is. RINA tries confirming that it's a small animal, which they agree with. HARU says that there are a couple of options to choose from. They decide to just go for it. HARU is still unsure which animal to go with, and MAMI also says the same. HARU goes, "It's an animal we're writing, right??" Ono laughs and says yes. They reveal their answers, but they don't all give the same answer. TOMO had been hinting at "kotori" (小鳥; small birds). Both she and MAMI answered that. HARU answered "nezumi" (ネズミ; mice). RINA answered "risu" (リス; squirrels). HARU says that birds also came to mind, but since "animals" were mentioned, she thought that there might be a few more options. MAMI says that if she mentioned Kimi-tachi wa Dou Ikiru ka (The Boy and the Heron; the latest Studio Ghibli film), their answers might have matched up. RINA agrees and starts talking a little about the film and how the scene where the bird pops up is kind of scary. HARU says that she hasn't watched the film. RINA says that she can look forward to that scene, then. TOMO says that she doesn't think HARU would like that film (HARU has mentioned before that she's kind of scared of birds), which the others laugh at. They then try to match up for the second round. Ono says to just try and match answers based on the first round. They reveal their answers, and all of them answer "kotori." They say that the questions asked during this segment are getting harder and harder (when this segment started off with the simple question about a rice ball filling all of them could enjoy).

HARUNA: This time...
TOMOMI: Oh! (*being serious*) Kako Ichi Sekai Ichi! A report on "KAKOFES"!
All: (*excited)
HARUNA: Yes, this time it's TOMOMI's turn.
TOMOMI: Yes, on September 24, we performed at the "KAKOGAWA MUSIC FESTIVAL," or "KAKOFEST" for short, which was held in my hometown! Thank you to everyone who came, to the staff, and to my three bandmates! Thank you very much for coming!
All: Thank you very much.
TOMOMI: We'd like to look back on the whole event, as much as time allows, while also introducing messages we've received from everyone who went to KAKOFES.
First, let me start with my impression... I imagined that it'd be a local festival with a small stage. But it was a solid festival venue, with about three stages, and lots of vendors. It was emotional for me to be able to see a festival taking places on the riverbank where I grew up! With COVID and the loss of the fireworks show, people in Kakogawa were feeling lonely, because it was the riverbed that we all loved. People in Kakogawa were happy to be able to get together like that for the first time in a long time, as they don't get a chance to get together very often. Of course I was happy, too. Many of my local friends came, so I was really happy.
HARUNA: The people of Kakogawa have a tremendous love for Kakogawa, and you could feel that at the festival. There were many stages, and we were allowed to play as the last performer, and it was great to be able to play with local bands.
RINA: It was a great festival in all aspects.
HARUNA: It was warm and welcoming.
RINA: We had an event in Osaka the day before, so we drove from Osaka. The staff was so welcoming from the moment we arrived at the venue and entered the parking lot. The turnout was amazing. It was an exciting festival.
HARUNA: It was a lot of fun. We've received some e-mails, so we'll read them.

I was invited to KAKOFEST by a friend who loves SCANDAL. I was nervous because it was my first time at a festival, and I was sleepy because I woke up early in the morning for a little expedition, but even before I arrived at the station, I was excited by how bustling the riverbed was. The sun was hot, but we enjoyed watching various people perform and eating delicious food.
I was glad to have come to Kakogawa when I saw SCANDAL's stage at the end of the festival.
After the festival was over, the riverbed at dusk (and with clouds) was very breezy, and I felt something that I can't quite put into words. If I had to put into words the feelings I had after this concert, I don't know how I would do it.... I will go to another concert of yours again.
TOMOMI: I'm so gladー. I can't believe they were invited by a friend, and they even sent in a message.
HARUNA: It's just one of those things.

It was your first live performance in Kakogawa since you played at Shimin Kaikan. It was great to be surrounded by familiar scenery and to see SCA-chan there, with everyone smiling and singing. I was also surprised and happy to see that we had a small reunion with people who used to play at SCA-chan's live concerts in the past.
Please come back to Kakogawa for another live performance. And TOMO-chan, the tourism ambassador! I look forward to it!

They say that the baby was so calm that they fell asleep when SCANDAL came on. The band says that's cute. TOMO says that her friends' kids were already all asleep by the time SCANDAL came on. RINA says that it was a nice temperature then, after all. HARU says that having a festival that the whole family can come to is nice.
•RINA reads the next message from a listener who says that one of the most memorable moments of the festival for them was seeing a mother holding a baby in her arms, and the baby's clothes had "SCANDAL BABY" written on them. TOMO says excitedly that she saw that. MAMI says that she saw a DM about it, and TOMO says she did as well. RINA then realizes that she did as well. HARU says that the baby was really cute. RINA says that the number of fans having babies has really grown in the past 3 or so years. MAMI laughs that a lot of "SCANDAL BABIES" are being born.
•TOMO says she hopes KAKOFES can continue being held. MAMI says that she saw on their site that it says they're "taking time to recharge" (as in the next festival is TBD) for now, and that the organizers likely had a lot on their minds during this year's festival, so now they're trying to upgrade it for next time. HARU says that that's wonderful, but this year's festival was plenty good. TOMO says that this was the second time the festival was held, and this year's was supposed to be in March but was moved to September due to weather conditions. She says she hopes the festival will be even more wonderful when it comes back. HARU wonders what it'd even be like if it is even more wonderful. MAMI says that when a big festival is held in your hometown, you think of how the locals really worked hard. The others agree, and TOMO says she felt like tearing up. MAMI jokes that she doesn't think her own hometown area (Tenpaku in Nagoya) would be able to do something like that, having a festival next to the Tenpaku River. TOMO asks if there is a river there. MAMI says her high school was right by the river, and TOMO says that it's the same for both of them. TOMO says that she'd love to play a 'river festival.' The others laugh. TOMO asks about Nara, RINA's hometown. RINA says she doesn't think a festival could be held in the neighborhoods there since there are lots of mountains. HARU says that maybe it could be held at Nara Park. RINA says that the park is really far away from her hometown area. MAMI says that they'll play in the mountains then, and they joke about 'mountain festivals.' MAMI says that there are mountains in her hometown area as well. HARU laughs at the way the convo has shifted to this, and that they're surpassing playing at actual venues. RINA says that it's nice to be able to perform in all kinds of places.

When I was a university student, I worked part-time at Koshien Stadium!
There are various part-time jobs at Koshien Stadium.
I was a vendor selling juice and ice cream in the stands.
This part-time job is different from other part-time jobs in that there are many elements that make it exciting!
First of all, the pay is based on commission.
The more you sell, the more you get paid, but if you don't sell at all, you get paid very little... So I walked around the stands all day long, even under the scorching sun of the summer Koshien [high school baseball] tournament, desperately trying to sell as much as I could! As a result, I was paid more than 100,000 yen ($670~ USD) in one week!
This alone is super exciting, but another fired-up element is the ranking!
Everyone was really selling hard because there would be a ranking of how much they sold, even within the same company!! It wasn't just a part-time job but more like a club, and we all worked desperately hard every day!
MAMI: I seeー Sales results come from thatー
HARUNA: I didn't know about thatー
RINA: It creates a fighting spirit.
HARUNA: Over 100,000 yen in one week!
TOMOMI: That's amazing. But isn't Koshien a bad idea on a very hot day?
MAMI: That's true.
TOMOMI: That's why I think it's really amazing that the beer and ice cream vendors have to run up and down the stairs in the blazing sun, carrying extremely heavy things on their backs.
RINA: I wonder how they calculate the difference in sales. I wonder what kind of interaction makes it easier for customers to buy from you?
HARUNA: I'm curious.
RINA: What kind of tricks are there?
TOMOMI: That...depends on the Hanshin Tigers, doesn't it?
RINA: I see. So the mood of the audience is different. I see!
TOMOMI: The mood matches the game. When the team is winning, they're like, "Let's go!" And when the team is losing, it might be like, "Now, now..."
HARUNA: The service varies depending on the day, doesn't it?
TOMOMI: You have to change the energy.
MAMI: Like when someone hits a ball or scores a point, try to catch the audiences' eye during that time.
RINA: I seeー
MAMI: Is that what they do?
TOMOMI: When the magic number lights up, it seems like things would sell like crazy.
HARUNA: But it's good that they enjoyed their part-time job.
RINA: Yes, it is! That's lovely. Also, the fact that it depends on your own effort is very exciting.
HARUNA: That's important.
•The episode starts with this.
•TOMO reads the next message from a listener whose part-time job was selling sweet chestnuts (amaguri) at a station on the Chuo Line. They say it was a delicious part-time job in many ways. They got to eat all the chestnuts they wanted, it wasn't that busy so they could sit on a chair and read manga/study, and their hourly wage was 800 yen, which was quite high at that time. It was fun for them to observe the customers who came to buy the chestnuts. Sometimes a man would come by and get 10 bags, and the listener could tell that he had won a horse bet that day. There was an older lady who came in autumn when it was the season for new chestnuts and would ask if the chestnuts were tasty again that year. There was also a famous actress who would friendly greet them and say good evening. But what made them happiest was the occasional visit from a senior member of their circle whom they had a crush on. They would always give her a bag full of chestnuts as a gift. The two of them later did start dating. The listener remembered how happy they were when she went out of her way to stop by their place of work. TOMO goes, "Ah, this is making me all teary!" HARU says that was a lovely message. TOMO says she wants to give them something like a program pick, but the others remind her that they don't have any right now. It's then revealed that there's actually one remaining Apollo pouch from season 1. TOMO says that this message was pretty moving but suggests that they first go through the other messages before giving it out. The others say that it's okay to give it to this listener and so they do. HARU says that maybe she'll go and get some sweet chestnuts, which the others laugh at. She says that it smells amazing in the corners of stations where these stalls are located. MAMI says that you could get drunk off of that smell.
•MAMI then starts talking about something related regarding her and TOMO. TOMO starts laughing as soon as she mentions it. MAMI says that they both go to the same gym, and at the section of the nearby station where they change trains are a bunch of different food stalls that change every month or so. TOMO says that they seem to change every time they see them, and they're like pop-up shops. That's why they look forward to them so much and buy a lot of things each time. HARU says that the same kind of thing is done at her nearest station and shops change out about twice a week. She says she also buys a lot of things, which they all laugh at. RINA says that the things offered are at the right prices, and that she remembers they used to buy things from those places when they were first starting out as a band.
•MAMI reads the next message from a listener whose part-time job was at Yoshinoya, like MAMI. They were second-year high schooler at the time (10th grade) and had been given the responsibility of training new employees. There was a new guy a year and half older than them. They were worried about how to treat him but tried their best to teach him, though he was really dismissive. He made the worst first impression on the listener. Despite his attitude, he quickly surpassed them in rank with his quick thinking and eventually became assistant manager. The band laughs at this and HARU goes, "What's up with that??" The listener says that despite this guy making a terrible first impression on them, he's now their husband whom they hold dear. They've now know each other for 10 years, dated for 4 years, and have been married for 2 years. The band is surprised by all of this. HARU goes, "Part-time jobs are amazing!" RINA says that she guesses you can find your destined person there, which makes HARU laugh hard. TOMO wonders how the listener's impression changed of him. MAMI says that they were probably impressed when he became assistant manager and outranked them. RINA says that everyone's lives are really interesting. MAMI says that that didn't happen to her at her Yoshinoya, which makes the others laugh. RINA says that she didn't find her destined person there. TOMO says that it's because she quit pretty fast but might have met them if she had worked there a little longer. HARU says that her destiny would have changed quite a bit and she likely would not have become a Guinness recordholder. TOMO says that SCANDAL might not have existed. MAMI wonders what happened in those 6 years between when the listener and husband first met to when they started first going out. HARU says it's amazing how their relationship has lasted for so long after first starting to work together, which the others agree with.
•MAMI says that friends made at part-time jobs are awesome. RINA says that she really wants those kinds of friends. HARU laughs and says that she should try working a part-time job. RINA goes, "Is that okay??" TOMO also says she wants to do it. MAMI says that maybe they could try working part-time jobs as content for their fan club. HARU laughs and TOMO says she'd want to do it. MAMI says that it wouldn't be possible to do as content for "Catch up," which they laugh at. RINA says that you probably can't make friends from just working for one day. The others agree with this. RINA continues that it would probably be a hindrance and inconvenience to the actual workers. MAMI jokes and laughs that they would have no choice but to start part-time jobs on their own. RINA agrees and says to just leave her be if they happen to see her working somewhere. HARU agrees and RINA laughs.
•RINA reads the next message from a listener who said they worked 4 part-time jobs and learned a lot of stuff (sorry, but the listener lists way too much stuff/details that I won't be listing lol). The band says that's impressive and that they had a lot of different experiences. TOMO wonders when they actually slept. She also says that a lot of people in her classes had several part-time jobs like that. MAMI says that there were a lot in hers as well. TOMO says there was one person who had a goal of buying a car right after graduating, which they were able to do. RINA says that if you have a clear idea of what you're working for, you can keep working hard, and this applies to any job.
•TOMO reads the next message from a listener who had worked at Mister Donut for three years as a student. One day when it was slow and there were no customers, they were asked by another staffer if they'd be interested in coating the chocolate rings with the finishing chocolate dip. They were so clumsy that they didn't think they could do it well, but since the staffer said that anyone could do it, they decided to give it a try. However, they weren't able to do a good job with it after only 2 attempts and were told that they weren't suited for the task. The band laughs and MAMI says she feels sorry for them after they were told that anyone could do it. HARU says how strict it was for them to be told that only after 2 attempts. TOMO says that of course you'd feel down if you're told that anyone can do a task but are ultimately unable to do it. HARU says that her mom worked at Mister Donut when HARU was very young and coated donuts as well, though not in chocolate. She was told that if she made a mistake, she could eat it, so sometimes she made mistakes on purpose. They all laugh at this. TOMO says that's cute. RINA says that her dad worked there as well as a student and would add cream to donuts. However, he didn't know how much to add and would add too much, so he was also told that he wasn't cut out for it. They laugh at this story as well. MAMI says that those must have been awesome since they were bursting with cream.

HARUNA: Since today's episode is out on October 23, we celebrated the 15th anniversary of our major debut yesterday, October 22! Thank you very much!
All: Thank you very much!
HARUNA: And yesterday, we celebrated the finale of our tour in Tokyo. We'll introduce our impressions of the tour later!
Today, we have a new segment! "SCAN-Dare!?" (スキャン誰; sukyan-dare = it combines "SCANDAL"/"Sukyandaru" and "dare" [who] in Japanese; translated, it means "SCAN-Who!?")
RINA: What?? What does that mean?
TOMOMI: "SCAN-Dare"～?
HARUNA: ...that's the question.
RINA: "Dare," as in "WHO," right?
HARUNA: Yes, this is a new game segment. It's a game in which you guess the subject given to you without seeing it, and you try guessing who it is by asking the others who are looking at it. You're asking, "Who am I?"
RINA: Right, right, right.
HARUNA: A popular example is putting the subject on your forehead. (like "Heads Up!")
TOMOMI: Ahー.
HARUNA: Let me explain the rules.
1. Each person is given a subject. You cannot look at your own one. The genre of the subject is the same for each single round (animals, food, etc.).
2. The given subject is shown to the other members.
3. You can ask only 3 questions to the other members to guess what your given subject is. The questions are called "SCAN."
4. The questions are in a "yes-no" format. After the three questions, you answer what the subject given to you is.
RINA: I wonder if we can tell.
HARUNA: We can only answer yes or no...
TOMOMI: It narrows down the genre, though.
HARUNA: You get to ask 3 questions, right? At any rate, let's get right to it!
RINA: Who should we start from?
HARUNA: Let's play rock-paper-scissors.
All: (*plays rock-paper-scissors)
～TOMOMI goes first.
HARUNA: Then we will look at the subject given to TOMO. The staff will announce the genre.
Staff: (*The subject is from "Sports")
RINA: Sports!
TOMOMI: Then, I'll show my subject to everyone. (*The subject written on the given card is shown to the other members)
All: (*looks at the subject)
RINA: Now, TOMO will ask us questions about her subject.
TOMOMI: SCAN time! Um, is this something you do with a large group?
RINA: Isn't that a "no"?
HARUNA: Yes, it is a no. NO NO!!
RINA: That's a good question.
TOMOMI: Next: Is equipment needed?
RINA: Umm...isn't it "no"?? ...right?
HARUNA: Yeah. It's a no.
TOMOMI: Wait a minute. Why are you guys being so vague?
MAMI: It really is vague.
TOMOMI: It's vague!?
HARUNA: But, well, it's a no.
MAMI: Yeah, just in case, it's a no.
TOMOMI: A no "just in case"!?
MAMI: Yeah.
HARUNA: It's a NO NO!
TOMOMI: Wait, that doesn't narrow it down at all... Wait, wait.
Let's see. Is it an Olympic sport?
H, M, R: Yes.
TOMOMI: Eh, wait, wait. I can't narrow it down...
HARUNA: That's three questions. That's the end of question time.
RINA: You already know what your subject is, don't you??
TOMOMI: What!!??
